Whenever someone says Sinnoh had good Gym Leaders and E4 members, I'll show them this image

So no inherit advantage against US heroes? A shame.

I haven't really gotten into a Pokemon game since gen. 3, so can someone explain why this is a bad Elite Four member?

How's it going guys? I've got a question. My older brother plans on buying the PS4 Destiny 2 Limited bundle. I have no idea when it comes out but he said once he gets that, he'll lend me his PS4 to take to go back to campus. So I'm taking his word that the Destiny 2 PS4 edition will ptobably release sometime in the fall.

With that being said, would anyone recommend games for the PS4 that I could look into? One I've already decide to get is Tales of Berseria, Toukiden 2, maybe debuting The Evil Within and The Last of Us s second time are possibilities. Any genre is appreciated.

Truth be told, I was thinking of posting this in the PlayStation 4 / What game should I get stickies in the Light House but don't think they seem to be active.
Destiny 2 is out September 7th IIRC.

Bloodborne is the best game on the system easily. I also recommend Nioh, Horizon, Yakuza 0 and Dark Souls 3.
And Witcher 3 is one of the best games ever made.

One of the biggest issues with Diamond and Pearl was that it had an unbalanced Pokedex, and one of its signs was that they were only 2 Fire-type evolution lines in those games. Because Flint was a Fire-type specialist, his entire team couldn't consist of Fire-types, so instead, they filled the other three slots with Pokemon that associate themselves with heat in some way (Drifblim likes traveling to humid areas, Lopunny uses its ears for warmth, and Steelix's body can become warm by staying underground for long periods of time).

Thankfully, Pokemon Platinum did Flint's team justice. That game fixed the Sinnoh Dex by bringing all of the newly introduced evolutions + the Pokemon that come from those lines into the Sinnoh Dex instead of making them National Dex only (they also added some extra evolutions lines that were not in the DP Sinnoh Dex like the Altaria and Houndoom lines). In fact, the Sinnoh Dex went from 150 in DP to 210 in Platinum thanks to that. With more Pokemon meant more Fire-types, and thus Flint was able to have a proper, complete team of Fire-types.

I really wish we knew what went through the devs heads to let Flint happen

like. . .what stopped them from giving Flint a different type/adding more fire types?

Was planning just so poor they couldnt make any changes?

I think I had just about the most horrific encounter in an Overwatch match. Even if it was just a Play Vs AI match. You just trying to practice your Widowmaker skills and a team of 5 who choose all 5 Support characters and they just let you do all of the shooting and killing. Good frickin' lord! I want to laugh so hard and yet I want to cry so hard as well. :smash:
I mean, I'm glad it was just a Play Vs AI match and not a actual match which would've been even more horrifying. But by the time I actually managed to complete getting the 2nd Objective, I had 81 kills. I know I wanted to practice my Widowmaker guys, but that doesn't mean you actually make me do all the work. :skull:

I don't see what the problem is. Its not the first time this has happened and its obvious that he's primarily a Fire-Type user.

I like the Sinnoh E4 because all but one of them brought new types to the league, and they were a bit unexpected in my opinion, such as the bug and ground types.

Also, I downloaded a bunch of Rayman 2 maps, which came with a batch import script for 3DS Max. It worked the first time, but afterwards it gives me this error message.
upload_2017-8-10_20-38-20.png

I've deleted and redownloaded the files and it still doesnt work. I'm furious. If any of you are members of the Rayman-Pirate Community (havent joined yet), then point out this problem, as that is where I downloaded the models.

(hope I'm not the last post on the page)

Okay. Looks like everyone has their partner.

Now here's the next part.

You are going to be your partner's rival.

You are going to do the random page method to chose six more Pokemon. Then you will make movesets for those Pokemon. Your goal will be to be as hard to beat as you can.

Basically you're going to make a challenge for your partner to overcome.

For example, if I had a partner, (I don't) I would have to think up movesets for...

  • Cofagrigus
  • Larvesta
  • Espeon
  • Cherrim
  • Stunfisk
  • Dewott
Then I would make movesets based on what I think could easily counter my rival's team. Remember the personalities of the Pokemon you will face, maybe you could use that to your advantage.

Same rules apply, no repeats and no legendary/mythical Pokemon.

Make sense folks?

Go get them.

After everyone has done step two, we'll move on to the final step.

And maybe if you want, a bonus round. But let's get this part done with first.

Sorry about my lack of activity around here as of late. I guess you know why now, huh?

Welp. "Dawn Form" disconfirmed, then.
It's curious, though. There are still placeholders for two more forms, and circumstances make it very unlikely that they're there for totems. Hard to say just what they're planning, but whatever it is, they thought it out in advance.

Frankly, I don't know why I keep getting so many Rock-weak Pokémon.

Swanna: Scald, Air Slash, Roost, Tailwind
Swanna's in trouble since Zebei has three Electric-types, but Swanna can focus on making my other Pokémon faster.
Mamoswine: Thrash, Ice Fang, Superpower, Dig
Mamoswine charges and rams down everybody it can. Good for all three of his Electric-types, plus Gabite.
Sentret: Defense Curl, Amnesia, Power-Up Punch, Baton Pass
Sentret boosts itself up, and gives its boosts to another Pokémon.
Darumaka: Flare Blitz, Rock Slide, U-turn, Gyro Ball
Darumaka brings in heavy physical force. He'll assist Mamoswine.
Illumise: Encore, Thunder Wave, Infestation, Moonlight
Encore, Thunder Wave, and Infestation will cause major problems for Zebei's team as they're paralyzed, they're forced to repeat the same moves, and they are infected.
Bidoof: Double Team, Rollout, Super Fang, Curse
Rollout makes for quick travel; Bidoof moves around and uses Super Fang to weaken Zebei's Pokémon.

His team:
Well if you need one more

1. :135:
2. :139:
3. Lotad
4. Gabite
5. :172:
6. Stunfisk

Okay, here we go.

Zebstrika, I feel, would be a hard counter to Taillow. It's incredibly fast and hits hard with super effective moves, and can use Thunder Wave to cripple Taillow or Flame Charge to gain a speed boost in case it is slower. Zebstrika also hits Magikarp hard.

Dodrio is faster and more powerful than Dartrix, so Brave Bird should, in theory, nuke it before it could land a blow, and then Roost off the damage. Cyndaquil could also easily roast Dartrix. Dodrio also hits Bewear super effectively. Zebstrika's Flame Charge also deals added damage if it runs Fluffy. Ice Punch is, IMO, its biggest issue. Tentacool, however, might be able to tank and confuse Bewear before crippling it with Flinch Hax (Waterfall) and chip damage (Poison).

Electrode and Raichu are big issues because of Dodrio and Tentacool being weak to them. Zebstrika and Victreebel are the best bets here. Both opponents are fairly frail defensively, so Zebstrika's Double Kick could spell their doom. Victreebel resists electricity, so tanking and whittling is an option there.

I'll post your challenge in a bit!

Wete there actual placeholders found, or did people just go by the number that the newer placeholder had?

Schnee117's team consisted of:
Crobat
Gabite
Steelix
Hawlucha
Walrein
Salazzle

The new team I got:
Torchic
Kabutops
Spearow
Greninja
Lucario
Staravia

My movesets+strategies for each:
Torchic: Mirror Move, Flamethrower, Rock Slide, Work Up
Kabutops: Rock Slide, Water Fall, Smack Down, Endure
Spearow: Drill Peck, Roost, Mirror Move, Thief
Greninja: Water Shuriken, Hydro Pump, Extrasensory, Ice Beam
Lucario: Psychic, Aura Sphere, Detect, Calm Mind
Staravia: Double Team, Aerial Ace, Agility, Return

The strategies:
Though it may be very small, Torchic believes it needs to go for all out aggression in order to keep up against its foes. With Rock Slide, it could surprise Walrein and even try to take down Salazzle and Crobat using it. Against Steelix, not only does it have Flamethrower to take advantage on the Steel-type, but it also has Mirror Move at its disposal. Torchic thinks it could use Mirror Move to counter-back a powerful move like Steelix's Earthquake should it find a way to survive. Work Up is there to boost its Attack and Special Attack stats so that it can deal more damage.

Like Torchic, Kabutops has Rock Slide to make use of Walrein, Salazzle, and Crobat's Rock-type weakness. Waterfall also makes good coverage against Steelix and Salazzle due to their Water-type weaknesses. It also has a Smack Down as a way of knocking down Crobat and Hawlucha from the sky, where Kabutops could follow up with another attack once they hit the ground. Endure allows Kabutops to withstand potential powerful attacks from the likes of strong Pokemon like Steelix and Gabite

Spearow plays like a trickster. It has one powerful attack at its disposal in the form of Drill Peck, and knowing it is rather frail, it has Roost to heal itself. Mirror Move also acts as it means of counter. Finally, Spearow knows Thief as a way of stealing potential valuable items from any of the opposing team members. In fact, I can imagine Spearow would exploit Gabite. Knowing full well how proud of its hoard Gabite is and how enraged it can be to the point of losing itself should something be taken from it, Spearow would try to steal something from Gabite's hoard. As Gabite enters rage mode, it could use Mirror Move to counter back strong-attacks while taking advantage of the fact Gabite isn't thinking as clearly while enraged.

Greninja aims for speed and power, fitting for a special-sweeper. With two Water-type moves at its disposal, it could take out Salazzle fairly easily, and Steelix could even take quite a hit from those attacks. Extrasensory also works well against Salazzle, Hawlucha, and Crobat. Ice Beam provides added coverage against the latter two Pokemon + Gabite. Against Crobat, I can imagine Greninja would engage in a heated stealth battle against Crobat, fitting for the former's ninja-like nature and the latter's assassin like techniques.

Lucario would primarily focus on special-based attacks to make use of the opposing team's low Special Defense. Psychic takes care of Crobat, Salazzle, and Hawlucha, while Aura Sphere deals with Walrein and Steelix. Calm Mind allows Lucario to concentrate on its strategies, remain composed when dealing with the stealthier foes, and increase its Special Attack stat. I can imagine Lucario would make a very effective against Walrein. That Pokemon is generally lazy and will deal its strongest attacks only if the foe gets too close to it, but by firing Aura Spheres from a distance, Lucario can get around that.

Whereas Spearow relies on being tricky, Staravia focuses on doing all it can outspend its foes and trick them, hence why it knows both Agility and Double Team. Staravia could potentially give Crobat a run for its money by making it lose its patience with multiple Staravia clones flying around at high speeds to allow for quick strike yet accurate strike using Aerial Ace. Against Hawlucha, Staravia's blinding speeds and tricky clones could throw it off, to the point Hawlucha would realize it might be better to go for more practical moves rather than try to be fancy with certain dodges.

Let's see what strategies you will come up with against my first team, Schnee117 Schnee117 !

Interesting. The Defiler actually appears in Starcraft 2, but it's the only of the Starcraft original units (That I've found) not usable by the player

Hell, even the Goliath can be used and they are considered "Obsolete"

Oh boy.

And apparently it's important.

People have been saying they might release the game early in response to the leaks but they already deconfirmed that.

I don't know what else it could be. Kinda unsure if I should watch...

They're just gonna play the game in its entirety on stream in response to the leaks, aren't they?

And yes, I'm still clean.

It's a pun

Ampharos is legit.

I don't see how Aerodactyl is any less a stretch than the others.

Edit: I wouldn't give him Kingdra just because it seems more like a Clair thing
Makes more sense than Aerodactyl.
Ampharos' name in Japan literally translates to "electric dragon" and its Mega Evolution was even given the Dragon type.
Aerodactyl actually looks like a Dragon tho
?

Literally every Sinnoh Gym Leader design was fantastic, and the only Elite Four member with a somewhat silly one is Flint because Ronald McDonald lol.

Also yay Aetheri picked me.
Roark is boring, Gardenia's hair is stupid, Crasher Wake is jist a fat guy with a mask, Maylene(I think that's her name) just looks stupid, Fantina can go suck a ****, Ice lady is a generic school girl, Volkner is literally Minato, Bug kid looks like he's a ****ing kod with bug types in the E4, Ronald McDonald, Lucien 0.5 and ***** Restface McBitch
Steel guy and Ground lady are cool tho

Ok, I'll start it soon though it may take sometime
Swamp Sensei Swamp Sensei maybe it's cause I'm still tired but I don't entirely get step 2, do we make new teams for ourselves or a team for our rivals? I only woke up 20 minutes ago
Random generate another team just like the first and make up their movesets too
It is the team my first team will face
