Honestly, I wonder how different things would be if they allowed you to vote for TMS characters.

I'd imagine that Yashiro, Tsubasa, and Kiria would have done well because of their themes and "acting presence" alone. For those wondering what Yashiro has other than "two big reasons" like the girls, just look at the swimsuit and come back to me.

Some observations!​

• The only Smash characters to not make it in the top ten for each gender are the Mystery of the Emblem versions of Marth and Male Corrin (though both are still in the top twenty). However, since Shadow Dragon Marth and Female Corrin both made the top ten, every Smash character is technically in the top ten.
• If we rank by console, the rankings go : 3DS>GBA>Wii>GC=DS>NES=SNES
• If you didn't have a game released on the GBA onward, you were doomed.
• Ike is in Top 5 for Men, twice. Robin is in both top tens. Corrin and Marth are both in and out of the top ten.
• Roy and Lucina sit at Number 2. It's funny cause they're both Marth clones.

I was looking through characters from other games, and regardless if I liked the characters in those games seeing them up against newer characters made their designs seem rather boring.

The fact that they count versions of the characters from different games separately is kinda silly.

For some characters like Ike I guess it's okay since they have pretty significant design changes, but for a lot of characters there's like no difference.

Also, yay for Mia, Nephenee, and Nino cracking the top 20! \o/

Considering how every character is available in the ballot, and the ballot is for a special costume, I would say yes.

I wonder how voters will react to seeing the rankings, like how it will reflect in their future selections.

Will Ike and Lyn be bombarded with more votes by those who like them and know they can help secure their victory? Will that be applied general to the top 3? Many people will do as they please for sure regardless, but I suspect a gap will emerge from the very top choices and the rest. Therefore I think we're looking at the final top 3 for each. Chrom or Camilla sneaking in would be the only exceptions I think, mainly because they are Chrom and Camilla who are the types that I can see causing a bandwagon themselves.

Technically we only know the ones that have been shown in the trailer and the two winners will be in the game but considering how deep they're drawing characters from it seems a safe assumption that most if not all of the even semi-popular ones will be in the game.
