I literally wanted to scream when Ash Greninja was revealed. You don't know how happy I am that we're getting this form in the games (then again, I'm one of the few that likes Ash Greninja)!

I'll post the rest of my thoughts later in the day once I'm free from classes.

So, I guess Synchro-Evolution really is just a Greninja thing, because they definitely would have said more if it weren't.

Yeah, that was basically my entire argument against it.

If we were really getting such a big new mechanic then we would've known by now. On top of that, the Z-Form ideas never really caught on because no matter how you spun it, Mega Evolution is there and is already a super form/buff thing.

So what I was thinking was that Ash Greninja would've been Mystery Gift exclusive but the thought of it being an Ability definitely didn't cross my mind (dumb on my part especially since there's mons who have form changes tied to Ability like Wishiwashi)

I wonder if other Pokemon will get Battle Bond as an ability or if it'll be a thing exclusive to Ash-Greninja
Though now it means Greninja is the first starter to have 3 Abilities

I'm starting to think the secret Rockruff shares with the starters is Bond Evolution(I'm calling it this now), different evolutions based on version isn't much of a big deal, just two already used concepts in one
I doubt Greninja will get this kind of special treatment, not even Charizard got something entirely exclusive to it

The Chinese leaks, I d' say are confirmed, but Rowlett's doesn't fit. Those were concept art, or there's two forms like lycanroc.

I CALLED ASH GRENINJA BEING EVENT EXCLUSIVE (demo counts okay).

Z-Forms got BTFO'd AGAIN.

The starters tho... Dartrix and Torracat don't resemble the leaked starters too much, Brianne definitely does though.

Rowlett's second form, while being the least directly connected, DOES still have it grow into a taller, more humanlike shape from the pure ball of fluff which, at least, flows logically into the bodyshape of "Robinhoot."

Torracat, yes, is still quadrepedal and all... but it's the collar/bell thing that's the biggest tell. Seen more in the JP trailer where its animations were more shown off, it expands out in the shape OF a flame when it attacks, which matches almost 1-1 to the concept art of "Beltigre's" belt.

It's been inarguable since Mallow got shown off, this all just further cements it.

Ash-Greninja - So it's like a super version of Moxie that boosts Speed & Special Attack (based on the site description)? The biggest question is whether or not it'll offset not having access to Protean. I both wonder if the upcoming goodbye episode in the anime will tie into the Demo, as well as how the manga will make sense of Ash-Greninja given Y's Greninja (most likely just a cameo).

The designs are kind of meh, but I'm a lot more conflicted than I was the last two Gens when it came to the starters, which is as it should be IMO.

Torracat says it has some sort of cat punch and is good at seeing in the dark. Stop playing with our emotions and confirm it's secondary typing already Game Freak.

No Mega Stones for VGC 2017?! I don''t play competitively but that's pretty significant.

Awwwww I wanted another action game (well, they seem to be going the Splatoon route this time as if the leaked water gun Yagyu wasn't enough). Still pretty excited to wet some shirts in style, something I wish I could have done in my backyard.

If they introduce a new Ice type, perhasp like the practically confirmed Snowman pokemon...

I also don't see a reason why they make Eevee evolve using a special stone since there clearly is an icy region which would most likely have the Icy Rock...What I think would be cool is if they introduced more pokemon that can evolve using the Icy/mossy rocks...those are literally there for Eevee only...

There might be more Ice-type Alolan forms that evolve by a stone. Or it might be used for gen VII Ice-types. And evolving Eevee into Leafeon by Leaf Stone after four generations doesn't really make sense. GameFreak doesn't like messing with continuity (Nidorina and Nidoqueen still can't breed for example).
