42 if we count Cutiefly's "leaked" evolution in today's live action trailer.

+ 6 for starter evos
+ 4 for the other legendaries to complete the celestial trio and the tiki quartet
+ 1 for Rockruff's evo

That'd already be 53 for the pokemon which we've /effectively/ been told exist in some official source, art/name leaked or not.

We've... probably still got half a region's worth to go, guys.

Well, comparing to gen one we still have about 98 pokemon to go, or around that number. And again, iirc, if you preorder or something you get a guide with all the new 'mons and all the new alolan forms.
Right now, imo the content they've been putting out has been getting much better. The way I see it, a lot of the first pokemon shown were hit and miss, but the designs and ideas have been getting a lot better,

I just found a My Castle in Fates that has droppable S Rank weapons
While this is cheating, I find it a cool thing to do because it allows you to get the Hoshido weapons in Conquest and vice-versa
It also has the +Stones and a Rainbow Tonic

That's actually a thing? It's possible to make items droppable for My Castle battles?

In some ways I also think Type: Null is our closest answer to a canon Missingno.

Well, a lot of great things have been made accidentally or for fun, but if you want my opinion.....I'm gonna do a throwback to how my sister said Lusamine wouldn't be the big bad because it'd be pulling a Lysandre. What if she is, and S&M are combining bits and pieces of XY? Both villains would show up very early on, and pretend to be good while leading their group, which you are lead to believe is a helpful group. Aether wants to capture Solgaleo/Lunala from some ulterior purpose, and so to do that they created Type: Null, a pokemon so strong it would allow them to weaken the Legendary enough to capture it? Being an XY throwback would also explain why we see the return of Dexio and Sina in S&M.
