There's something I've been curious about...Does the Prime Trilogy on the VC use the Gamepad or does it still only require the Wii mote and Nunchuk like it did for the Wii?...
I already own it for the Wii, so if it's the latter there really isn't any reason for me to buy it for the VC...
I haven't downloaded any Wii games from the eShop as of this post, but as far as I know (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong on this), only games that supported the Classic Controller on the Wii support the Gamepad on Wii U.

Both the Legendary Pokemon's abilities are also literally old ones with new names.
Might as well have given Solgaleo the Clear Body ability and Lunala the Multiscale ability.
But they have buffs to them, which is nice. The type combos are pretty cool though.

Lunaala is Psychic/Ghost, neat
Solgaleo is... Psychic/Steel... I get that fire may have been too obvious but... why?

Zekrom's and Reshiram's abilities were literally Mold Breaker and no one complained
At least they get good abilities

Solgaleo-Psychic/Steel...did not expect the steel typing...pretty much everyone thought Fire...
with its ability he's pretty much Metagross that looks like a cross between Arceus and Pyroar...:p

Lunala-Psychic/Ghost...I'm cool with this, unique typing only shared with Hoopa...Would've preferred Dark/Fairy but still Psychic/Ghost works...

Also Rotom Pokedex confirmed....yay? I guess...

I like the type combos for Solgaleo and Lunala, especially the former since everyone was pretty sure it'd be Fire type, yet they represented different aspects of the Sun by using Psychic/Steel (which as someone implied on another forum, probably refers to the Gravitational Pull and Magnetic Field that the Sun imposes on Earth). Lunala was more easily guessed, though the fact that it's not Fairy is also a surprise considering the Moon has been connected to the typing since Gen 6.

Characters look neat, the assistant I'm curious about since it seems like she may be a rival of sorts, or at least someone you battle from time to time. Rotom Pokedex is nice, and it's good to finally get a confirmation on the region being multiple islands.

I just realized.

A floating ghost monster not in your team with a database that constantly tells you information? What anime have we seen that in before?

Of course, thanks to Pokemon having an existing concept to work with this is much cooler sounding, but. . .

. . .If this Rotom even halfway acts like Whisper, the temptation for me to throw my 3DS across the room will go up a bit.

It doesn't help any that the design for this gen's Pokedex literally looks like a toddler's toy. The concept itself sounds immensely exciting, but I hope nothing goes wrong with the execution.

At any rate, this might mean that the Pokedex this gen actually doubles as the Pokemon translation device that I thought people said they found in the files of last gen, so that could definitely be interesting if they really went there.

Couldn't we just play as Lillie...?

Those trainer designs are ludicrous. What's with the Kevin hat?

At least the professor is as sub-par as expected, it's impossible to top Sycamore.

...

Psychic/Ghost has cemented my decision on Moon version.

It seems I wasn't the only one surprised by Solgaleo's typing.

I will most likely get the Moon version. I prefer Lunaala, and non-legendary exclusives don't really matter as they're so easily obtainable in recent games.

Beat me to it! But it's the 14th for all interested:
Edit @ 14:32: It has been confirmed that Pokémon Sun & Moon will be featured on Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 on June 14th 2016 while Pokémon GO will have a Q&A on June 15th 2016.

Kind of bummed about the Legendaries personally. Would have gone with anything other than Psychic, decent abilities I guess.

Good to see Rotom again, I just hope it doesn't act like Navi/Fi. Would guess Professor Oak will give Ash his Rotom for whenever the next season starts up.

The website states there are 4 main islands in the region, when there are 8 Hawaiian islands in real life. They probably merged some together, but I'm getting serious Event vibes from this. INB4 someone makes an IGN too much water joke.

Am interested to learn what the main characters are wearing. They don't look like Keystones? Kukui seems like fun given he studies moves. Lillie has a cute design. Hau seems like Barry 2.0. Am liking these rivals more than the Kalos friends already.

Both of these are interesting. Those crystals from the logo are on the pro tags arms, and there's bikini outfits apparently.

You know, Solgaleo's situation is a bit ironic. Before, a lot of fans were criticizing it for being another Pyroar because they were 100% sure it'd be Fire type and it'd just be a generic Fire Pokémon related to the Sun, now that they don't share a typing at all and they used a unique typing for the Sun, a lot of people are now complaining that it didn't go the most obvious route.

Huh, I didn't catch that, that's interesting since the XY trainers also had their keystones on their artwork, so those may very well carry similar importance. I wonder what the point is with them being different colors though since the Keystones always had the same color scheme.

Luvdisc and Corsola confirmed btw...
I dunno why the Japanese Youtube released several small videos instead of adding just one video...(I guess it's a good way to get extra views but still) but they show a lot of extra footage anyway...

To be honest, with both Zelda and Pokémon taking over Nintendo for E3, I'm once again excited to be attending.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

Solgaleo is Psychic and Steel? Well, that is certainly unexpected. Lunala being Psychic and Ghost isn't as surprising either, but I feel that skipping Fire on Solgaleo and Dark on Lunala was a missed opportunity. Alola looks to have four main islands, with two smaller ones located to the west and in the center. And a Rotom Pokedex? Uh.. okay.. All in all, pretty good trailer.

A couple more details were found on the games. The first is concerning the Rotom Pokedex as apparently it has four sections like how XY had three:

There was a problem fetching the tweet

More then likely it means that each island will have its own Pokedex subsection, but it probably also mean we'll have a good amount of Pokémon available overall like with XY.

The second thing concerns those typings we found. A while ago, everyone was sure that due to the ordering, Rowlet would get the Ground typing. However, as this user found, that's not the case with the legendaries as their typings go:

http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/sun_moon/pokemon/images/icon07.png - Psychic
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/sun_moon/pokemon/images/icon08.png - Ghost
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/ex/sun_moon/pokemon/images/icon09.png - Steel

Solgaleo appears before Lunala on the site, but unlike Rowlet with Grass/Flying, Steel isn't listed before Ghost. This implies that the ordering of the typings doesn't matter, so Fire/Ground is completely fair game and so is Fire/Fighting and Water/Ground...

Huh? I see five area slots on that screen. They said it was four?

Because it looks like there could be an extra one for any assorted areas or something. . .

Also, I don't know if this has been brought up yet, but Solgaleo's and Lunala's typings really throw me off. What comes to mind when you think of the sun? Fire. Well, Solgaleo, the Sun legendary, is weak to fire. What comes to mind when you think of the moon? Nighttime/darkness, maybe? Well, Lunala is weak to dark. Seems pretty backwards.

It's here now:
-Psychic/Steel and Psychic/Ghost. Not exactly new typings, with Psychic/Steel already belonging to the Beldum and Bronzor lines, but only Hoopa has Psychic/Ghost. That being said, for a second, I thought by the typings that we finally had a duo with no weaknesses to each other(well, not exactly including Ho-oh and Lugia, considering Lugia is Psychic/Flying, but still has Water attacks and is found in a water area)....than I remembered that Steel lost it's Ghost resistance.
-After them showing the other guy giving the Starters, I was surprised that Kukui was the Professor. Also, if Lillie is a rival, she looks like she has potential, compared to Hau who seems similar to Bianca and Shauna.
-A Rotom Pokedex is rather interesting as that fits Rotom's nature of possessing objects. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it was optional.

Well he's got a different series symbol, so I guess it's to be expected they might not map him to the overall Mario section. Yeah it's kinda off when you have games like Mario World where he played an important part and yet he's not part of the cycle, but that must have been what they were going for.

I think they should have been a little more specific with how they went about some of this stuff in the first place, though.

You know, map Dark Pit's Theme to only display Dark Pit, the Radiant game music tracks to only display Ike, the Awakening music to only cycle between Robin and Lucina. Stuff like that. Maybe map the Pokemon music from generations with playable characters to only display the playable Pokemon from that generation. Seems like it would have made a bit more sense in certain cases.
Yeah what I did was for all the Mario series BGM tracks, I altered which silhouettes would appear. Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser appear in ALL the Mario BGM tracks (except for the Dr. Mario BGM tracks). But as for Rosalina and Bowser Jr., their silhouettes will only appear for certain BGM tracks. Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and Wario would also have their silhouettes present, if they appear in the BGM track's game source. For some examples...
  • Super Mario Bros.: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser
  • Super Mario Bros. 3: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr.
  • Super Mario World: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Bowser Jr.
  • Super Mario 64: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Wario
  • Super Mario Galaxy: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Rosalina, Bowser Jr.
  • Super Mario 3D World: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Rosalina
  • Mario Kart series: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Rosalina, Donkey Kong, Wario
Yes, I know that Wario is not in Super Mario 64, but he does appear in its remake, Super Mario 64 DS.

I didn't touch the BGM tracks from the other franchises though.

I'm assuming that they're thinking that the last slot will be for the National Pokedex as that was how it also worked in XY (you had the Central, Coastal and Mountain Kalos Pokedexes, but then National took up the bottom-most slot).

Time for me to pray that this doesn't happen.

Something tells me that the fifth slot is for the National PokeDex for when that time in the game comes, though that might be just because I can't think of what else it could be that seems plausible enough.
EDIT: :4greninja:'d to an extent.

Ouch, that's not good.
Saying it could be the end of Star Fox seems to be a little extreme though.

It's a niche franchise, a niche genre, on Nintendo's worst selling system yet and the gimmick controls scared people off (from the Wii U itself and this game).

Thank you Nintendo for being especially clear these past few months on what you're showing at E3.

I'm sure your investors really appreciate the transparency.

Pokémon Sun/Moon is looking good thus far.

Solgaleo and Lunala's types were unexpected... Anyway, Lunala being Ghost type means I'll be getting the Moon version.

Rotom Pokédex is an amusing idea.

(Also, bikini outfits will probably get the censor hammer outside of Japan. :troll::troll::troll:)

I'm seriously wondering if I can ever amount to anything worthwhile. I can do jobs well and keep jobs, but I don't think people respect me. I can make friends easily and I know people like me, but I just don't know if I'm actually worth anything in the big scheme of things...

I might end up being a terrible elementary teacher...
Why do feel like that?
Don't judge your worth by what others think of you or what society thinks of you, although if you must, don't go any farther than people who genuinely care for you.
You're a teacher, huh? So if your students are doing well and enjoying their classes, that means you're doing a good job.

Don't get bogged down by vague depressing thoughts.

----------------------

So, Sun and Moon.
  • Psychic/Steel and Psychic/Ghost are rather odd choices of types. Fire and Dark see much more reasonable.
  • It's really ironic that Solgaleo is weak to Fire and Lunala is weak to Dark.
  • RotomDex was a neat idea.
  • Looks like Pokémon professors will be never be old men again. :p
  • The character designs are quite neat, and I think the lab assistant might be a tsundere. The frowning artwork seems to point to that.

So the "Rowlett will become Grass/Ground" theory is finally dead? Thank god, that was stupid
Still haven't watched the video, but I guess all there is to see is new footage
I wonder if Pokedex Rotom will be playable and what type it will be if so

Also, on the typings and the legendaries in general:
I believe Solgaleo and Lunaala are not supposed to be the sun and the moon themselves but instead to represent them in the Alola region, sort of like what Angels are, messengers of the Gods(which the sun and the moon are in Hawaii iirc)
Steel and Ghost are weak to Fire and Dark, repsectively, which would mean they take 2x damage, or, in other words, they amplify the powers of the sun and the moon
Even without having the types, their moves still clearly show Fire and something-ambiguous-thing-that-could-be-interpreted-as-"Darkness", meaning they're borrowing the power of the Gods.
Just my two cents on it

Also, I don't know if this was ever mentioned here but, Lunaala literally means "Moon Wing" in Latin and "Galeo" is close to Galea or Galeati which means helmet, thus making it "Sun Helmet" /themoreyouknow
Helmets are made of steel so there is your reason for the typing

So... Dragon Ball Super's next major arc was revealed, and it's a little weird.

Another Future Trunks is here, is hanging with Mai and Goku is evil in that timeline.

Yeah.
