I've seen the 2 of that series somewhere in the EShop
Have you played any of them or did you just see this trailer? Because I'm skeptical about RPGs under $10 since...*war flashbacks*

I haven't played any of them, but I thought it looked pretty good from what's shown here. Plus, Nintendo is officially promoting on their channels, which I doubt they'd do if it had nothing good about it.

I think the height difference mechanic looks cool. I'm new to SRPGs so I haven't really seen that before.

Figured there was no harm in sharing in case it resonated with someone.

Watching the trailer, it seems pretty good and there's some talk about it around Reddit and stuff, I'll give it a look on the EShop

@Swampasaur I'm pretty much in agreement with @Smooth Criminal on the Zootopia question. I do think it tried to be a little too self-aware at times, but other than that I loved this movie. Zootopia is actually one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies of all time, and it is tied for 1st place with Monsters Inc. I think Zootopia does a lot of things right. Even if you think the whole "prejudice" story will become outdated due to how it focuses on current events in America, I think it will stand the test of time because even if the issue of prejudice isn't being focused on in the news over time, it is still a very valuable lesson to remember that we are all created equal. The story overall is also well-paced, entertaining, charming, funny, and well-balanced.

The cast of characters is pretty good too, with vibrant personalities, and the interactions between Judy and Nick are amazing. One of my favorite duos in fiction, probably. Nick is also my favorite Disney/Pixar character.

Of course, animation is solid and the voices done for the characters are nice. I personally love Zootopia, and while it's not a perfect movie, I do think it's close to it.

Wanna read an unpopular opinion?

Spoiler: Certainly, o rodent in sunglasses. Tell me your thoughts.

This trailer doesn't give me hope that I'll see anything I haven't from any other major SRPG series. The only mechanic that strikes me as differentiating is the item fusion mechanic they demonstrated (which is cool I'll admit) - height map tactics, hidden items, class changes, and unique recruits are all par for the course.

Character designs get a special shout-out for seeming more uninspired than perhaps they should; it could be something with the palette, which looks like someone tried watercolor painting with a drop of food coloring in a gallon milk jug, but there's something like three face shapes per gender and nothing really stands out to me about any of the talking heads.

But literally all of this could be forgiven if the story was solid, as, at least to my experience, the thing that really sets apart the great games in this genre from the good is the story the game tells. So when I get a generic blurb about Make Mercenaries Great Again and a handful of characters who look like their personalities were written by choosing one TVTropes page per unit, well, I'm afraid I'm not hopeful.

But that's me, and maybe I'm just picky. Or, more likely, I'm not the target audience. Internet seems more interested.

Me, I'm gonna play Disgaea and have a nice lunch with that $10 unless something more appealing than this trailer sways me.

Uh, yeah, sorry dude. You're alone on that language bit. I use those words on a daily basis, especially with apologies, and so do most of the people I interact with from state to state. Nothing about it felt unnatural or too articulate at all to me.

And I actually appreciate the bluntness of Zootopia since I don't really like subtlety, vagueness or ambiguity. Especially for the sake of either pretending to seem more meaningful, artistic, intelligent, or just to make others feel better about themselves. It doesn't right with me.

So yeah, can't really say I agree with you on your viewpoint of the movie. I can, however, understand why you'd feel that way and see things the way you do, so more power to you. Stand strongly and proudly by your viewpoints and outlooks, buddy.

As for Giselle, she was there for Shakira to have a speaking role to tie into her singing for the movie and I suppose fanservice...Which is also due to Shakira's influence since she asked for her hips to be made bigger since she thought they she was too skinny initially. So yeah, that's a thing.

Anywho, great movie. One of the few I actually like to rewatch and enjoy all over again every single time. <3

Well, I managed to get play 3DS and Wii U when my thumb was broken. Then again, I guess it depends on the thumb you break. Utilizing your index finger to move a circle pad/ control stick sounds a lot easier than using it to press the A, B, X, and Y buttons. Either way, if an idiot like me managed to pull through with that, I'm sure you can too.

With the Switch presentation in less than 12 hours from now, this video makes for a real nice watch. For all the shortcoming Nintendo has coming as a company, a lot of their best qualities are eloquently summed up here. Mark Brown does plenty of great videos like these, celebrating what makes video games great after all. Please do checkout the channel. It's a nice breaker from the cynicism and cash-grab bandwagon-ism that dominates the gaming sphere of YouTube. As fun it is to dog-pile on easy targets (not really), celebrating the medium and all it's accomplishments is perhaps a little more important and fulfilling, at least in my opinion.
