Also FYI, the only reason I was still discussing this is because Shishoe said they thought it was an interesting discussion, and decided to quote a post of mine from yesterday on the topic. That's perfectly fine, and since they were still pretty civil about it, I was willing to discuss the topic a little more. Normally though, I wouldn't respond to a quote to a post of mine from a day ago, because that means the same topic is eating up too much time.

At this point, we should agree to disagree. I think it's also fair to say that a piece of media can be about a different thing for different people. Like how Smash is about meticulous competitive play for some, and mindless party fun for others.

You didn't see that saying 'SAO has so much wasted potential because it said it was an MMO' meant exactly that. Other than Mario, the Reddit thread is talking mostly about three options: Fire Emblem Warriors, Kirby Warriors, and Kid Icarus Warriors.

Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus are the perfect franchises to get a DW style game.
Loads of potential characters plus enough factions to make use of.

Allow me to explain why you're wrong.
1. 90 Attack isn't actually all that bad, it's not 'great' on Pokemondb, which is a minimal of 100, but it can have 99 with an Adamant nature as natures change the stat by 10%
2. Mimikyu is pretty fast and has priority, meaning if fighting someone who uses status, Mimikyu has a good chance of going first
3. Sure, status hurts, but giving a lum berry gives it a free SD, which you said it 'needs'
4. Disguise is a free sash. It CAN get the Sword Dance easily, and if the opponent misses, switches out or anything inconsequential to Mimikyu, it not only has a doubled attack stat, but the free sash
5. Focus Sash can still work meaning it needs 3 hits to take out unless your opponent has one of the SM Masot legendaries. I remember hearing Mold Breaker doesn't disable Disguise

I had an idea for a Smash Warriors long ago.

Pac-Man had a weapon similar to the LockJaw from Rayman 3.

He expires the time limit and has 3 ****ing 'true death' scenes throughout the show

Check the IVs, Nature and EVs. Could have gotten ****ty luck, my Chesnaught had ****ing abysmal Attack making it an absolute liability

I think seeing all of those Kid Icarus Warriors comments awakened a hype desire inside of me that can never possibly be fulfilled.

The whole game works so naturally for it. Kid Icarus is a huge catfight with three superpowered factions each with their own unique troops and insane generals all going after each other, normal humans stuck in the middle fighting against any number of them (or each other, because they're morons), and random crud interrupting everybody while random truces are called to deal with the interruption.

Plotwise I'd wonder how they'd even handle it, but setting wise it's basically perfect for a faction based game. Logically I know it's too obscure, and it's making me sad, but gosh darnit I'd be thrilled if it happened.
