i buy consoles at launch because it avoids the wii situation or the nes classic situation or what will be known as the switchuation come march because if theres one thing nintendo did with the switch reveal it was get people saying "oh wow thats cool i want that"

and besides id rather contribute to strong launch sales so i get to be blame free when the third party support inevitably dies off

I'm looking forward to the Switch because as of late I've veered away from console gaming apart from in social situations, whereas portable I still indulge in from time to time. It's just easier to fit it in for me, I'm all over the place these days, so the idea of what is basically a portable "console" is something I'm quite enamoured with. And that's the first time I can say that about one of Nintendo's system's "gimmicks". And so far there's been little in the way of mitigating my excitement. Not to mention, the volume a consolidated lineup can provide is something I've wanted for a long time.

I'm not going to say I believe it'll be some great unfounded success though. That remains to be seen. I think it will fare better than the Wii U, and the Gamecube... but that's all I feel comfortable in predicting. If it eventually exceeds the 3DS's performance I'll be pleasantly surprised, though really... raw sales don't matter. Not for me, not for us. We're consumers. They do, however, effect the willingness of third-parties, and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like to take some third-party experiences on the go.

Whether I'll buy it at launch remains to be seen. It's contingent upon the launch lineup really. If BotW is there, or the Smash port (unlikely), I'll be there. If not, I have no problem waiting. I've deferred the whole Gen VII thing until Stars, much to the chagrin of my friends haha.

Very true but I have faith in those sources, they've been right on the money so far. And even if for some reason the leaks are untrue... I'll just get Sun or Moon then. If I was chomping at the bit to play it I wouldn't be able to wait a year regardless, haha.

Yeah, Japan's Nintendo channel does that often. And by looking at the time it will start at January 13 at noon in my time (My area is one hour late compare to Japan's time). And it's right after the day I finish my semester exam, perfect Nintendo, perfect.

I got the set from Smogon's Kommo-O discussion.

I'm using it as base, and seeing what I can tweak and what needs a buff or not. Speed is likely because Kingdra is pretty relevant due to rain spam.

I just see what I want a Pokemon to do with what it has to offer lol I rarely look at what Smogon suggests before I make a Pokemon. The only recommendation I actually did follow Smogon on is eviolite Chansey. But that was back during with XY or Oras (can't remember which one I made it in)

I played the NieR: Automana demo, having no experience with the previous game, I was completely lost story wise (assuming it even connects to it).

But I did really enjoy it gameplay-wise. The camera gave me some trouble, but everyone else was really good. May pick this up sometime down the line.

The story is set in the same universe as the first NiER but other than that it's unconnected to it.

That being said, both NiER and the Drakengard series (which NiER is a spinoff of) were always known for being very good story wise but very awful when it comes to gameplay, so now with Plat. handling the gameplay Automata should be pretty good on both fronts.
