I'm almost done with Shin Megami Tensei Apocalypse, it's been a lot of fun so far and I'm kind of surprised how much I ended up investing in it.

"Hit hard or miss less"
Kommo-O@Life Orb/Fightnium-Z
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 72 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Modest Nature
- Autotomize
- Clanging Scales
- Focus Blast
- Flash Cannon
---
Yeah. Finally bred one up. Can I ask something though? Why the damn limitation on its move pool? Give it Close Combat damn it. Or Aura Sphere! I'd kill for AS Kommo-O because of what its other option is; Focus Miss. :glare: So the moveset is pretty simply. Out speed multiple target threats with Autotomize, then sweep with Life Orb-boosted overpower attacks like Clanging Scales and Focus Blast. Flash Cannon hits those troublesome fairies for hard damage. Fightnium-Z is an option if I want to guarantee a KO on multiple unresisted Pokémon who otherwise endure... actually that's bull**** I just don't want to miss.

These are my first Dragons I've added to my Competition Boxes.
That's an interesting set for Kommo-o, I'm honestly a bigger fan of the Special sets for the dragon because it's not as outclassed in the role (especially since lord Hydreigon is MIA from VGC this year) and Clanging Scales is a nice option to have, so I like how you came up with this one. May I ask why some of the EVs are put into HP and Def though? Does it help it avoid certain KO situations?

And I agree about Aura Sphere and Close Combat, it's really strange how limited Kommo-o's Fighting movepool is.

Clearly the zone being mentioned right now. Seems innocent enough.
Wait. . .I think I remember that place. Some fossil dig at a zoo or something. Nah, it can't be. . .

*reads fine print on the sign*

The Women's Board of the. . .Buffalo Zoo. . .

I was at the Buffalo Zoo once. I think I was about the age that I. . .

Wait. . .do I ACTUALLY remember that place?!

How else would I show both characters without posting two different images? :p

Have you done Fire/Ice yet?
Are you going to double up at all? (Ex: Fire/Fire)
Just wondering.
Yeah I have a fire/ice type. It's a mythical Pokemon called Aristocore.

No doubling up wouldn't really have any benefits if it even were a thing,

Maybe I'll keep it and not transfer over one of the ones I was planning for my team

I think in order to make my popplio in line with the perfect pokemon I breed, I've got to transfer it to my other game, level it to 100, use a gold bottlecap on it, then remove all it's XP

Going back to FFX after playing FFXV is so weird.

On the one hand, not having the freedom to do whatever I want in battle is frustrating, but at the same time, I'm realizing that my decisions are weighed harder. I can't dish out a string of attacks, hop out and immediately heal like in XV. I have to live with every decision till the opposing side finishes their turn. I dunno if I'd say I prefer that though. I'll admit, the way XV handles things can make it feel like there's little to no risk, I mean, **** you can cheese a ton of battles if you simply have enough potions, elixers and pheonix downs, but I think that's just an issue of XV's design rather than it being real-time. If so many things didn't make you invulnerable when you used it or couldn't be spammed as often it wouldn't be much of an issue.

Having had experienced both styles for a bit now, I'm still of the opinion that neither is really all that superior to the other like a lot of people make them out to be. It's just preference.

Well since I guess box art legendaries are generally banned for competitive I guess I don't have to worry about balancing Wailyn or Mothamia. :p

I think that in general, action RPGs are easier than Turn-Based ones. For example, I died more times in Chrono Trigger than all of my playthroughs of Fallout 3 and Half of 4.

The funny part is Chrono Trigger is one of the easiest JRPGs out there.

Especially for it's time.

What about FF Mystic Quest?

The game that was made out of Square's Xenophobic condescension

I think the only RPG related to Squar Enix I played was the Bravely series
Good Choice.

Yeah, that one is infamously easy. But it was designed to be Fisher-Price *** RPG. If they did that at this other time, they would get roasted.

My first RPG was Mario RPG and I had no idea how to play it. It's a pretty easy game overall though. Some of the secrets in it I've STILL never been able to get, like the item for the 100 super jumps or whatever it was.

My second RPG was pokemon Blue, which basically taught me about RPG's and I went back to Mario RPG and beat it

I feel REALLY annoyed. I woke up at 3AM because a dream I had was making me feel so tense and excited, my body produced ****ing adrenaline. I try sleeping after that and have a nightmare about my clocks being broken and I only realize this after 8 hours I should have been working. Then I realize I actually forgot to turn my alarm clock on last night >.<

They're only "easier" because you have more control of the situation, you only take damage due to mistakes you've made rather than because the game says you have to. And even then I don't think one is really easier than the other. I didn't play through the entirety of Chrono Trigger (because the emulator I used refused to accept an input at some point), but if I found something to be "difficult" all I did was load up an earlier save and grind out a ton. I dunno if I'd call that more difficult, just seems more time consuming really.

The advantage of real-time/action RPG is that the player rarely needs to grind to stand a chance. You could finish the entirety of FFXV at level 1 because you have way more control of the situation compared to a turn based game where fighting a max level boss at level 1 is next to impossible unless RNGesus blesses you to constantly dodge attacks. In the end, it's just a matter of what do you prefer. Personally I enjoy Real-Time more, I like knowing that I lost because I messed up rather than because I lost at RNG I can't control. But I do still enjoy turn based gameplay. I am still enjoying FFX even if I may prefer the style of XV, and plan to play VII afterwards.

That happened to me once. I woke up 45 minutes after my shift started, then woke up again 4 hours later.

Anyways speaking of sleep.

Did they even finish FP1 or bring all the stuff they said they would to it yet?

Trust me im trying hard
Sorry I sound rude, things are irritating me and hopefully Saltybet will help me
They didn't finish the DLC, which I DO feel is a bad move as they were stretchgoals on the original kickstarter, but they promised they'll go back to it after making a better game iirc

Gosh darn it Arlo. I had my hype well contained but I decided to watch his Switch hype video and I have to say Im truly excited. He made a good point in saying that the only thing we truly know about the Switch is that were getting Breathe of the Wild. Every other game is still a mystery, even if they showed it in the trailer. I dont really listen to leaks, because more often than not theyre fake, so seeing what games were getting is just amazing and exciting and my body hasnt been more prepared for this than ever.

Hype for the Switch hasn't really settled in for me.

I've been keeping myself busy though, playing Pokemon Prism as well trying to get my first Platinum Trophy on PS4.
