Can we not reserve judgment until we've at least, you know, seen the game? I'm not the biggest fan of the Rabbids, but give it a chance...

Yikes, that's honestly pretty dark for Monster Hunter as that's not even something you can write off as instinct, that's deliberate murder. It definitely is more fitting of being Monster Hunter's first 'pureblood' villain then any other monster and honestly it'd be perfect for a storyline based off of that lore focusing on the 'hunter becomes the hunted' aspect of it.

It is. And I went to make sure on which parts are true and what not. One of the things I mentioned was slightly wrong, but the rest is pretty spot-on. Get ready for a whole lot of text and lore:

There was an old civilization known to scholars as the Ancient Civilization. The Ancient Civilization was a civilization with technology unlike any other. They may had even been with other species. They are the ones that left the ruins in Ancestrial Steppe and the everwoods.
Soon, they created what is known as the Forbidden Act. By using both technology and biology, this society was able create their own life forms by using equipment and materials to build them from scratch. However, this experiment was very evil due to one reason: In order to make a new life form, another creature would have to lose its life. Hundreds of dragons were sacrificed for one being. Species that had once existed alongside the Ancient Civilization went extinct for the existence of another.
Finally, the dragons could no longer hold back their rage and started a war with the Ancient Civilization, known as the Great Dragon War. Once again, plenty of dragons had lost their lives in battle. But in the end, the dragons won and the Ancient Civilization was no more. Although many dragons had fought in the war, there was, however, one dragon that shone throughout the war. The Legendary Black Dragon......Fatalis.

Basically, the Ancient Civilization did freak experiments with dragons and the dragons could no longer take losing their kind. In fact, you know all of those Frontier-exclusive monsters and Elder Dragons? Believe it or not, most of them, if not all of them, are in fact the resulting work of the Ancient Civilization's experiments. Hence the similarity between them and other Elder Dragons, like Garuba Daora, Rukidiora and Rebidiora are to Kushala Daora.
As mentioned, the Fatalis were the shining examples of the dragon's stand against them. The G-rank Crimson Fatalis was one of them. And according to some in-game info, the Fatalis used to be as many as the Rathalos and Rathian species, but after the war, they now very rarely appear. The Fatalis are also the only known Elder Dragons that all living Monsters fear, including giant Elder Dragons like Lao-Shan Lung and the Fatalis are also known to be able to burn whole areas in just seconds.
In addition, they take back their prey/victims back to their lairs before proceeding to take apart their armors and melt the armors onto their skins for their hard scales and they also do this to soldiers and Hunters, due to their enmity towards humans. Because of their rarity, the Fatalis are often compared and treated as fairy tale Dragons and are often seen with disbelief. As for the Crimson Fatalis, they are apparently Fatalis who's rage is so great that their skin changes red/deep crimson.

Here's the deal with the G-Rank Crimson Fatalis, this specific Fatalis. The G-Rank Fatalis is a Fatalis that absolutely despises humanity, to the point where it actually does willingly hunt them. The G-rank Crimson Fatalis usually lies dormant for many years, but when it awakens, it then goes on a rampage and hunts and destroys all it encounters. It is also able to manipulate lava as it's own personal weapon and is so threatening to other monsters that a simple flap from it's wings make them run in absolute fear.
In general comparisons to the normal Fatalis, because of this particular Fatalis' hatred towards humans, it not only hunts humans willingly, but also burns their carcasses onto itself compared to other Fatalis, who don't hunt humans willingy. Not only that, even it's own brethren, the other Fatalis, fear the G-Rank Crimson Fatalis. And compared to the normal Fatalis which is often seen as a myth, the G-Rank Fatalis is actually seen as very real. And that's not even all of it.
The G-Rank Crimson Fatalis is actually confirmed to be the one that destroyed Castle Schrade, the ruined place where you fight Fatalis. And to top it all off, it is not only rumored to be the Incarnation of the Original Fatalis in the lore story, but it is apparently trying to start another war. And it has been officially declared to be Monster Hunter's Evilest Elder Dragon.

So I think I can say without uncertainty that the G-Rank Crimson Fatalis is the closest monster to an actual Villain in the Monster Hunter Universe.

Hey, even if the IPs aren't my thing and I probably won't buy it as a result, I'll at least watch what it is before making statements on it's quality like the internet as a whole seems to be.

Just because it's a bit odd doesn't automatically mean it's going to be a bad game. I mean, Tokyo Mirage Sessions got a lot of flak for it's crossover concept and I didn't end up picking that up, but I still believe people when they say it's a good game and I'm not judging it for existing.

And think of it this way. If Nintendo wants to let Ubi have some fun with their IP, then the best thing that could mean is that maybe they'd be more willing to consider crossovers with other companies as well. If the game itself isn't for you, then think about the fact that it could mean that Nintendo might be more willing to consider some other crossover you'd rather have if a company stepped up and asked for it.

Run Run Rottytops is the one part of Pirate's Curse I never look forward to playing.

I was actually expecting a Dissidia like game when they first revealed SMT X FE which was why I was excited about the game in the first place. Worlds coming together and all that jazz.

When I saw the April 1st Direct I just felt disgusted by what I saw and that was the end of any aspiration I had to buy the game.

Pikachu FINALLY evolved into Raichu (the name Rai Mysterio finally makes a little sense. . .) I caught an alolan vulpix which I evolved, and caught a mimikyu which is a permanent member of my team. Love the little guy

I know that and I liked the game. Its definitely solid as far as Atlus RPG's go.

But it will be a tough sell to the entitled SMT fans that want something as gritty as their overshadowed RPG. Then again, you can't really blame Persona for being the more mainstream and profitable of the two.

The vast majority of things Nintendo does are met with crippling pessimism before anyone has any idea about them. The few that aren't are met with crippling pessimism after a delay of hours or perhaps days at most as people forcibly flush they hype out of their systems and go back to being incapable of enjoying anything whatsoever.

I honestly don't think I've ridden a hype train since Smash 4 released, and I'm not even sure if there's actually been one to ride since then. Sometimes I just want to have a bit of a hype party with a sense of community to it, but whenever games are actually discussed it seems like on most websites the only sense of community is in how sorry people can feel for themselves that a global corporation hates them on a personal level.

And I'm not even going to pretend that every choice that Nintendo makes is good, because they do make mistakes. Quite a few of them. But it seems as though people take things personally that weren't meant to be taken personally.

It's just. . .I wish that people could actually look on the bright side of things a bit and actually be hype instead of just getting more and more upset over everything. January 12th is coming up and I want to be excited, but every discussion about the Switch both prior to it's reveal and after the first week after it has been crippling pessimism after crippling pessimism and I'm worried people are somehow going to be even more upset and offended after the presentation than they are before it instead of being excited watching it.

Also I'm pretty sure after the number of times and contexts I've seen it used that I'm adding "disgusting" to my list of trigger words alongside "shill" and "apologist." I guess you could say I find seeing the way people use the word. . .disgusting. :/

Good luck trying to convince anyone that 2016 wasn't a meh year for Nintendo.

Even with a couple good games happened for the 3DS, there's little positivity about the things that happened for the Wii U's last year (even if some good or decent titles exists). When so many people are disappointed, they just don't have any hopes or optimism for a company's future plans anymore (especially Metroid fans). You can't really blame the way some Nintendo fans think today.

I'm sure Sony or Microsoft fans have little complaints about how support when for their respective consoles. The only few games that ring any bells are No Man's Sky, the Mighty Number 9, possibly Infinite Warfare if COD fans are still mad at that game, and some no name titles that don't ring a bell. For Nintendo however, so many titles stick out that everyone's on the "2016 sucked for Nintendo" bandwagon. That's just the way things are.

As a person with a pretty big sweet tooth, that made perfect sense.

Although I'm sure some people even enjoy soggy cake and I would only hope that they would be allowed to enjoy their dessert in peace while the rest of us seek out other snacks even if it did turn out to be such.

Unfortunately, there seems to be an attitude surrounding games that aren't universally loved to where they're looked down upon in ways worded that indirectly or even directly insult anyone who enjoys them, so I feel kind of preemptively bad for anyone who's willing to eat soggy cake just thinking about it. I mean, it's soggy, most people are going to not want that, but the way soggy cake is usually treated you'd think it was fished out of a garbage can after a month and dipped in plague instead of just being soaked.

Or in layman's terms, even if it does end up being a below par game, there will probably be people who still want to enjoy it and whatever reaction most people will have to it will likely blow it wildly out of proportion. Often times games that aren't quite so good are treated as actively bad for people instead of just. . .games that there's better options out there than.

Any game with a "worst game of all time" accusation probably has a few hundred indie and/or phone titles and a few dozen ignored pieces of shovelware sitting safely below it that are just being ignored for the sake of a narrative. Not counting games that are better gameplay wise but are. . .well like this one I saw on TV Tropes. Yeah, I think even the most mocked games have a couple of things over that.

After a few dead Sheegoths, I acquired the Wave Beam! Infiltrating the Space Pirate base and pretty much reading everything about their plans...I feel like I've spent too much time just reading all the Pirate Data even while I'm in the middle of a battle...tbh I'm mostly skipped a lot of the unessential stiff so it's a nice change of pace and learning a few little things I've missed in the many other playthroughs I've done...

One of my favourite things to do in this part of the game is to let the Metroids out to play...

I just remembered. Its actually after the Fire Trial, thats when youll get the Charizard Poke Ride and the Charizard will be able to take you there
