I like Ryuki's losing expression. Just encountered him doing a runthrough of the Pokemon League and that face got me. The way his glowing shadowed over eyes completely change color, the whole look plastered over his face, the shrug. . . I think I kinda like this guy. He's got these little fangs, too, so even better. I wonder if and what kind of role he'll have in Stars.

Iirc there were a few in FFXII that were long. There was one inside a coliseum, and one in a cave where you fight a tomato Royal family (can't remember their names) though I'm not counting the Hidden Espurs some of those were annoying to fight..

So Anabel doesn't get the remixed Frontier Brain theme from ORAS that was actually used in that instead she gets the very old GBA Frontier Brain theme that doesn't even sound good anymore?

Also this one's just a nitpick but I wish they had updated Wally's theme because his current one is nothing more than a short encounter theme that loops and it gets really annoying real fast.

And Focus Sash on Volcarona, its only worry is Paralyze but the guaranteed survival is needed when it dies to almost everything
Also, use Baile Oricorio because its best Fire type

Honestly, I'm surprised he didn't have much of a role. He has a unique design and is a Dragon-type specialist. You know, the Vast Poni Canyon trial was Dragon-type, but was the only trial not to have a captain. Wonder if that is what he was originally planned for?

I doubt it seeing that they clearly could have implemented him as the captain
And the Dragon Trial is said to have been abandoned a long time ago and has been working perfectly fine without a captain(one has to wonder who puts more Dragonium Zs there though)
My bet is that they just wanted a new character for the Title Defense and Dragon happened to not have a specialist

Maybe he was an early concept for one, but his character ended up being that of a traveling rockstar.

Plus he does look rather old, at least too old to be a Trial Captain.

Honestly, he doesn't seem the type. His backstory has him coming in from out of the region and makes him seem pretty heavily like a city boy, both of which are the polar opposite of what a trial captain on Poni Island would be, so either it was changed before his character was fully set up or he has something else going on entirely.

He almost makes me think more about the kind of person you'd run into at a Contest Hall, but he's a musician and not a Contest Idol. He seems showy, flashy. If it weren't for the Critical Dissonance meaning he's not exactly that famous, he totally seems like the type to be a rock star, and he's at least trying his best.

Since the islands are a very natural place and he's not quite raking in the cash to randomly take vacations, it makes it very curious where his jigsaw puzzle fits. He's basically the polar opposite of Mohn. Mohn has his role practically screaming at you with the only question being what events led to where he is now, while with Ryuki we know what events led to where he is now but literally nothing else.

Also in OU, we have Kyrurem-Black black with a monstrous 700 and is stupidly powerful. However, it's all about usage and niches. Kyrurem-B isn't ubers because it has some glaring flaws that make it fare game even in OU.(It has pretty bad typing and unlike Kyrurem W that can actually use its HUGE SA stat, Kyrurem B has such a limited physical movepool that it pretty much as to be a physical attacker.) Victini and Volcanion are pretty much fine in OU, it's not even like the whole metagame revolves around them like some in OU.


And I made those simple changes really quick. Funny you mentioned those two, because for those two I didn't really know what to put on.(I didn't want to put a band on Volcanion, but I forgot about the Assualt Vest.)

It just hit me that Plumeria and Guzma have zero scenes together. I think this is the first time there's no interaction between an Admin and their Boss.

Really missed that opportunity, Plumeria being the (practically) only competent member of Skull and Guzma being Guzma could've had some fun banter.

Actually, I feel like Plumeria in general is a huge wasted character... She's interesting in the small scenes she's in but she's hardly relevant.

Speaking of Pokemon moves, some moves should be more available. Like Machamp and Incineroar could use Flying Press for example. A hell of a lot of others could use Blaze Kick(Emboar or Infernape through level up) or Fire Lash(Flareon, Salazzle or Charizard). Mystic Fire got a boost, but only Delphox can use it as far as I know. Zing Zap would be pretty good on Luxray or Jolteon.

I could see a few different Pokemon getting Poison Tail, but it isn't the greatest move ever.

Yet Accelgor gets Water Shuriken.

IIRC it has Scald's burn chance with Hydro Pump's power, more or less. Definitely an improvement IMO.

Does it have 90 or more accuracy? I know it hits like a truck, but I'm the type of guy that uses flamethrower over fire blast. Better safe that sorry and all that.

It loses it's luster when it moves so slow when being thrown. The real DB-Z move is Inferno Overdrive. The Electric type one is fairly close too.
