If men could look like Jojo characters, and women could look like your average, everyday, female, shonen character, I'd be super happy. Granted, it might end up kinda scary irl.

Honestly, the mermaid character from way back looked like she has realistic proportions. Most of them are basically stick figures with two orbs on top. Such horrid design. At least the men look realistic enough. Not that anything is realistic with Devil Fruits, but still. The issue is that it doesn't feel like a simple artstyle choice. It only affects one sex, not both. If both sexes were poorly proportioned, that'd be one thing. The other is that it looks like clear sexualization of women specifically. At least the children look realistic, boys and girls alike, but that doesn't help once they grow up.

Or how the older or elderly women are made to be intentionally hideous compared to the elderly males. Compare a character like Big Mom to Whitebeard and you can see a clear difference between the two. Same can be said for Bukkin, Jiola, Catarina, Miss Merry Christmas, Dadan, Marigold, Sandersonia, and Warthog!Lola.

Then there's the okamas, who are far from progressive as the resident LGBT race in the One Piece universe.

Eichiro Oda just isn't very good at drawing females. Which is a pity, cause his character designs tend to be top notch, but ask Oda to draw a pretty girl, and they all suffer from not only sameface, but really bad proportions as well.

That aside, Oda is a really damn good artist. Some of the latest panels of OP really impress me again and again. They entirety of Dressrosa and Punk Hazard were all kinds of amazing from an art standpoint.

At least Bon Clay and Ivankov are well developed characters that helped Luffy twice (and they are genuinely funny and strong).

The other okama on the other hand are hard to take serious or flat out cringeworthy due to being one-note stereotypes with no reason to exist other than "Gonk humor".

There's a ton of One Piece characters that have crazy proportions. Male and female alike. Franky and a bunch of the side characters have really tall torsos while scrawny legs for example. Donflamingo is like 11 feet tall. But you certainly have a point in female characters being pretty same face for the most part.

Toriyama has a problem with re-using hairstyles, particularly you see Trunks' and SS2 Gohan's hair a lot in DQ. Chrono looks like SS1 Gohan. And a few of his characters have Vegeta's widow's peak. Araki sometimes has a major same-face issue, but for male characters. Namely in Part 5 and 7, part 8 has more distinguishing facial features. Part 3's main had some diverse faces in hindsight.

Exactly. At least Bon-chan and Iva-chan were genuinely likable characters that fully didn't depend on stereotypes for laughs other than the former's Okama Way song.

The other okama are hard to be genuinely like because they are just "Titans in dresses" as most fans would say.

Yeah, but aside from the females with intentionally radical designs, the females that are meant to be attractive are all drawn very much alike with big beasts and very slim waists.

And yeah, a lot of shounen mangaka have a lot of design problems, but then you also have people like:

Yes. With his power, he can inject a series of different hormones into himself or his foes. Growth hormones for size changing, sex hormones for literal sex changes, medicinal hormones that can literally risk the patient's life for getting an energy boost, and many more.

Also, his female form is popular for obvious reasons (despite keeping his trademark arrowhead chin). So the gender neutral Rocky Horror style outfit he wears definitely comes in handy for that moment.

I'm just saying that Giratina/the Distortion World being antimatter kind of flies in the face of physics. Yeah, I know people are gonna say "lol physics in Pokémon," but when you're supposed to be the literal representation of a concept, you should at least have the concept make sense. Otherwise Giratina would explode if it entered our world in Origin Forme using the Griseous Orb, or Cyrus/the player should explode upon entering the Distortion World.

Despite what Masuda intended, it really makes zero sense for Giratina to be the personification of antimatter.

That depends if you are fast enough to tag him or strong enough to really knock him down.

He's large, can easily make himself larger through Growth Hormones, knock people out just by winking, and strong enough to defeat powerful men like Bartholomew Kuma. And considering the latter can do this....
