its not a theory when the game flat out says thats what happened...seriously the world with out mega evolution is litteraly the pre gen 6 games this was less a confirmation of a fan theory and more a shut up and stop denying it to people who refused to belive what was infront of them
Wait, people actually denied that?

I thought it was pretty obvious that Pokemon was explaining the differences between various games with Infinite Universe Theory.

Heck, the hinting started in Gen 5 with Black and White being treated as two separate parallel timelines, it's just that ORAS took it way, way further than that.

. . .Then again, people have denied a lot of things for whatever reason before, heck, even I ignore some things with some games when it suits me, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'm not sure WHY exactly it needs to be denied, though, it's not like the events of the other games didn't happen so much as they all happened subtly differently. Combined with Black and White's hinting it explains things like story differences in counterpart versions, too. And if you hate the new story, well. . .it doesn't influence the old story's dimension, does it? At least not one of them!

I mean, it's not like there was any other way that every game could be canon since there's always little timeline inconsistencies here or Pokemon that probably shouldn't be outside of their own region there. It's a little weird, but I find it kind of fascinating having gotten used to the idea.

NONONONONONONONONONO
PYUKUMUKU IS RUINED
IT'S HIGH DEFENCES DON'T HELP INNARDS OUT
AND IT LEARNS ZERO OFFENSIVE MOVES
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I knew it was gonna go down that way to be honest. Its ability is downright broken, so yeah, they had to add great defenses to it. But coupled with low HP AND no attacks? Yeah, that's pretty harsh.

You can still breed up one with 0 IVs in both Defenses and Sp. Defense, give it a lowering defense ability and switch it in on strong attacks on sweepers. That'll bring them and Pukey down, and end the sweep. Its gimmicky but then again, it would of been either way.
hahahaha what the ****. wait, how did it get nerfed
By being a little ***** honestly.

Unskilled, no real tech, just birdspam at its lowest. I'm glad we're done with that *******.

I do slightly agree that the nerf was a bit overboard but still, I won't see it every WiFi battle I have now.

TM59 is Brutal Swing.
TM67 is Smart Strike.
TM70 is Aurora Veil.

Where did you find these? I have been looking at the Pokemon learnset videos and I haven't seen ny besides Brutal Swing
Which actually worries me if none of the new Pokemon can learn those two
And what does Smart Strike do?

Why must you be 10 days away, Sun & Moon?! Too many story spoiler boxes I want to open!

Source?
Here's the text dump with the description in it: https://projectpokemon.org/research/sunmoon/gametext.txt
Salandit: It burns its bodily fluids to create a poisonous gas. When its enemies become disoriented from inhaling the gas, it attacks them.
Salazzle: For some reason, only females have been found. It creates a reverse harem of male Salandit that it lives with.

It seems to be their other Pokedex entry as it gives a brief description of their abilities, though to find it, you have to search Salandit for the second entry since it's a large text file and it contains spoilers. Some of the other entries are pretty interesting too, they're worth the look if only for the absurdity of some of them.

Wimpod DOES lose Wimp Out upon evolving
It gets Emergency Exit instead "The Pokemon, sensing danger, switches out retreating from battle"
Its effect is still the same but it shows that while it growed to become much stronger, it understands that you just can't win every fight and need to retreat when you know you can't win
Honestly, I might let a second Water type just for him, I already have two Fairy types anyway

It's the new Wobuffet except it can learn TM status moves
This makes it the first fully evolved Pokemon that can learn TMs but can't learn Hyper Beam or Giga Impact
Which is essentially the same thing as Wimp Out, it's just under a different name. I do understand your point, but I feel that in this situation there were other abilities that could've showcased that growth then a glorified Wimp Out clone.

Depending on the success of First Impression, Wimp Out might not be as bad as people are making it out to be- its basically a hot and run technique like U-Turn except it has to get hit first after taking half damage.

Someone, anyone, please clarify if Ninetales and Sandslash are version exclusive, and if so, which version they will be available in.
I need to know, badly.

Aurora Veil is on Ice type Alolan Pokemon. Status move, Ice, halves damage from Physical and Special attacks for up to 5 turns. Only works in Hail.
Tapu Piri and Tapu Bulu can learn Smart Strike (only ones I noticed it on, not even Solgaleo learns it for some stupid reason). Physical, Steel type, never misses.

soooo I went on to the demo and have discovered on Ten Carat Hill an Ace Trainer I hadn't seen or battled before silly me.
Interesting design she has. I like it, not as much as the ones in ORAS, but still good designs.

Sad news for Alolan Vulpix- it does not learn Heat Wave as an Egg Move as I previously thought, as there were inconsistencies within the pastebin.

Basically what I'm saying is, "****.".

No coverage to Steel sucks big time.

I feel like it's fitting
It shows its growth without having to lose an unique ability that can be quite useful
But I guess opinions

Aurora Veil went from 100 to "those 5 Hail turns" too quickly

Smart Strike is 60BP, I assume? Still good to have a physical Steel TM for those that can't learn Iron Head

But it doesn't make sense those moves are so rare for the ****ing new Pokemon, you can teach Aurora Veil to one Pokemon during the maingame thanks to them being version exclusive
10 bucks that GF cuts their TM status next gen

Wow, Mega Evolution really messes up a lot of Pokemon in the head. Some of the descriptions are fine, but others range from sociopathic to downright tortured.

Then again, I guess you can't really expect any living creature to be in their right state of mind when they're shoved up full of the life force/souls/whatever of several dead Pokemon to the point of mutating. Taking note of things for headcanon.

I mean, I think the anime might have already said something about it messing things up judging by the Lucario gifs people were passing around forever ago, but still. Some of these are just. . .wow.
When I say "Pokedex spoilers" with this one, it's actually new info on existing Pokemon, not anything about Gen 7 Pokemon.

I just don't get it, even with STAB it's only going to be 15 BP higher than Leech Life but with no secondary effect

Aqua Tail vs Waterfall. Waterfall usually wins

70BP

Also others that learn it include:
Mew (duh), Male Nidoran line, Rapidash, Seel line, Cloyster, Rhyhorn line, Goldeen line, Tauros, Lapras, Ariados, Togetic, Aggron, Samurott, Excadrill, Scolipede, Escavalier, Bouffalant, Thundurus, Celesteela, Kartana and Necrozma.

Checked this:
https://projectpokemon.org/research/sunmoon/learnsets.txt
Use Ctrl+F and type in a move name to find out what learns the move you type in.

uhhhh.......what? Explanation please.
Aerodactyl(Mega): When it Mega Evolves, it becomes more vicious than ever before. Some say that’s because its excess of power is causing it pain.

Scizor(Mega): Due to the effects of Mega Evolution, its pincers have taken on a more diabolical form, ripping anything they pinch to shreds.

Sharpedo(Mega): As a consequence of Mega Evolution, its combative instincts exploded. The yellow marks it bears are scars from a long history of battles.

Glalie(Mega): It envelops prey in its mouth, freezing them instantly. But its jaw is dislocated, so it’s unable to eat them.

Salamence(Mega): Mega Evolution fuels its brutality, and it may even turn on the Trainer who raised it. It’s been dubbed “the blood-soaked crescent.”

Metagross(Mega): Mega Evolution stimulated its brain. It emerged as a ruthless Pokémon that will clutch at any means of ensuring its victories.

Garchomp(Mega): Its vaunted wings become scythes, sending it mad with rage. It swings its scythes wildly and slices the ground to pieces.

Lucario(Mega): It readies itself to face its enemies by focusing its mental energies. Its fighting style can be summed up in a single word: heartless.

The ones I don't list are either the non-disturbing ones or aren't in the regional dex.

. . .Some are worse than others.

As for the other detail,

That was more covered in Gen 6 with the fact that the Ultimate Weapon created Mega Stones when it killed everything and that energy from Pokemon is used for a bunch of stuff. There was probably a clearer explanation I'm forgetting but I'm pretty sure it implied Mega Stones were basically the crystallized remnants of dead Pokemon.

I'm surprised you didn't mention...
Mega Gengar's entry.

"Gengar’s relationships are warped. It has no interest in opponents unless it perceives them as prey."

This really puts a terrifying perspective into Gengar's Burst Attack in Pokken.

Jesus Christ these are horrifying when you remember these creatures have emotions.

I mean jesus it sounds like Mega Evolution drives all pokemon physically, mentally, and emotionally mad. . .I'll probably start to feel bad every time I use mega evolution. . .

It's not in the description for the version the person pasted.

This is what it says on mine.

Gengar(Mega): The energy of Mega Evolution awakened it. It sinks into another dimension, where it keeps a patient watch for its chance to attack.

Which begs the question of what other horrifying explanations are version exclusive. . .

I wondering if that's why the Trainer must have a powerful Bond with the Pokemon. The Bond between them keeps the Pokemon from going unstable.

Soo it makes them dangerous to everyone around them and incites extreme bloodlust in them?
I'll be sure to remember that next time I use Mega Rayquaza in battle.....

Somewhere out there on this big blue marble
Is there any confirmation on Assault Vest getting any changes? Because if it's still good, UB-02 Star Platinum will be even MORE of a monster
Fell Stinger+Beast Boost= bye bye everything
ALSO ONE OF THE ULTRA BEASTS GETS 173 SPECIAL ATTACK.
AND IT LEARNS TAIL GLOW

Neat touch that the Megas are getting Pokedex entries
The fact that Lucario's fighting style, aka the Aura Pokemon, is described as "heartless" leaves a lot of implications...

Also, Sneasel gets Throat Chop as an egg move, rip Mega Gardevoir
