its not a theory when the game flat out says thats what happened...seriously the world with out mega evolution is litteraly the pre gen 6 games this was less a confirmation of a fan theory and more a shut up and stop denying it to people who refused to belive what was infront of them
Wait, people actually denied that?
I thought it was pretty obvious that Pokemon was explaining the differences between various games with Infinite Universe Theory.
Heck, the hinting started in Gen 5 with Black and White being treated as two separate parallel timelines, it's just that ORAS took it way, way further than that.
. . .Then again, people have denied a lot of things for whatever reason before, heck, even I ignore some things with some games when it suits me, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'm not sure WHY exactly it needs to be denied, though, it's not like the events of the other games didn't happen so much as they all happened subtly differently. Combined with Black and White's hinting it explains things like story differences in counterpart versions, too. And if you hate the new story, well. . .it doesn't influence the old story's dimension, does it? At least not one of them!
I mean, it's not like there was any other way that every game could be canon since there's always little timeline inconsistencies here or Pokemon that probably shouldn't be outside of their own region there. It's a little weird, but I find it kind of fascinating having gotten used to the idea.
