So this is more of a theory then anything, but remember that your Dex is basically a Pokémon this time- being Rotom, so what if it was Rotom who was the one that's typing this stuff up?

What if humans didn't realize how bad Mega Evolutions actually were, as well as a few select Pokémon, but Rotom knew and was simply trying to tell the protagonist the truth in an attempt to stop Mega Evolving and spread awareness?

That'd actually be really ****ing cool if that were the case.

Two of my favorite Pokemon that are in the regional dex aren't quite that bad, but they still get in on the "fun," too.

Lucario: They can detect the species of a living being— and its emotions—from over half a mile away. They control auras and hunt their prey in packs.

Glaceon: It freezes its fur into icicles, spiky and sharp, and tackles its prey.

That's not counting the "fun" that comes from Mega Evos, of course.

That first one doesn't even sound real. This is not ok. I am uncomfortable with how horrible mega evolution is. Jesus Team Plasma was right why was this allowed to happen

Well think about where Mega Evolutions come from. The Ultimate Weapon vaporized countless Pokemon and turned them into Mega Stones.

. . .Think about what the Underworld Army was doing with souls and how everyone hated them for it no matter what they felt about anything else. There's some lines that are kind of a bad idea to cross.

Thank goodness Mega Evolutions are temporary, at least. Who knows what would happen if Pokemon would have to live like that for an extended period of time.

It puts Lysandre, Maxie and Archie a whole new light. Maybe they aren't so bad after all. Maybe their Pokemon believe in their cause just as strongly.

This development also gives us a whole new perspective on Korrina's Lucario in the anime. Mega Evolution turned it wild until it could control it. Now we know why.

The other possibility could be that the Pokemon are willing to go with them to the end, even if what they think their Trainer is doing is wrong and whatnot. Much like Karna with Duryodhana, where despite the latter being a real ****, the 2 actually have a real friendship with each other.

A Pokemon reflects the morality of their Trainer, or at least that's what Johto and the early anime seemed to say.

As long as the bond between Trainer and Pokemon is pure, it doesn't matter the actual morality of the person involved, the Pokemon will just start to act like them. One can have a Pet the Dog moment and still be bad. . .That said, while it's been a couple of years I feel like I remember Archie and Maxie showing remorse for their actions, so they're probably just fine deep down inside. Lysandre was a bit crazier, but he still felt bad about his idea of killing all Pokemon so they wouldn't be abused or. . .whatever he was doing even as he was too far gone to not do it. Shed a tear and crud.

I'm thinking about what would happen if Ghetsis tried to use Mega Evolution though and I probably shouldn't be. Anything HE touched would likely be uncontrollable. . .assuming he wouldn't wire some machinery up to control their overpowered bodies like puppets while their minds continued to spiral into insanity.
