Yes. Yes she does.Does she use that on her brother?
Agreed with all of it. The top 5 may have been 3rd parties, mind you. No information was given. I do want more first parties in Smash Switch, but I can understand some 3rd parties getting in. Konami is clearly involved, so there's a tiny chance he could return. I ain't counting on it, though.Well in terms of who could have ranked over her and still been excluded. . .I can think of two characters on top of the copyright nightmares that could have gotten high amounts of votes: Ridley and Ice Climbers. Both specifically stated to have reasons for not being added at the time, but both with support bases ready to ask for them anyway.
Other than that I'd assume the rest of the typical first party choices really were less popular since they would have been easier to add than a third party character that pushed several ratings issues at once. This includes Wolf, who was basically the Dark Pit of Brawl despite the extreme desire for him post-Ballot and might have had a quiet group of detractors voting for other characters.
Anyway, I can see them using it as more of a guideline for the Switch version instead of following the exact votes along the lines of how Cloud seems to have possibly been selected. In this case moreso because I'd assume they would want to primarily stick to first party characters with their choices in order to not have to go though too much further licensing, though.
It's too bad he never released the list, but it's a smart thing too. The backlash would by high. Remember what happened when Corrin got announced? Sweet mercy. And it's not entirely unjustified. FE getting more DLC characters than any series can easily rub some the wrong way. I mean, I like Roy and Corrin, don't get me wrong, but it feels too biased. Sakurai more or less did admit to that, at least. Part of why I'm not mad. The other is that at least his team convinced him to worry more about the character being interesting than the series they came from. I'm happy about that. Sakurai may care about representation, but it's given way too much importance when it's not the biggest thing ever. Is it important(to Sakurai), sure, but we can't say for other developers.
