Agreed with all of it. The top 5 may have been 3rd parties, mind you. No information was given. I do want more first parties in Smash Switch, but I can understand some 3rd parties getting in. Konami is clearly involved, so there's a tiny chance he could return. I ain't counting on it, though.
It's too bad he never released the list, but it's a smart thing too. The backlash would by high. Remember what happened when Corrin got announced? Sweet mercy. And it's not entirely unjustified. FE getting more DLC characters than any series can easily rub some the wrong way. I mean, I like Roy and Corrin, don't get me wrong, but it feels too biased. Sakurai more or less did admit to that, at least. Part of why I'm not mad. The other is that at least his team convinced him to worry more about the character being interesting than the series they came from. I'm happy about that. Sakurai may care about representation, but it's given way too much importance when it's not the biggest thing ever. Is it important(to Sakurai), sure, but we can't say for other developers.
- Type: Psychic/Flying - Abilities: Telepathy/Insomnia - The Hoothoot and Noctowl of this region are even more intelligent then the ones of Johto and are said to of gained their psychic abilities because of this. When these Noctowl turn their heads 180 degrees, their true psychic power really shines
- Type: Bug/Fighting - Abilities: Iron Fist/Swarm - Because of all the tough Pokémon in this location of the region, Ledyba and Ledian have grown to become much more powerful then their Kanto cousins. When absorbing the light of the stars as energy, Ledian have sparring sessions to decide who is the strongest.
- Type: Ground/Dark - Abilities: Arena Trap - The Spinarak and Ariados of the desert of this region transformed to adapt to their new environment but also have become more sinister in the process. Rather then constrict enemies in its web, it creates a pit fall trap where it waits for unexoecting prey to fall in, where it then ambushes them. If the prey is too strong, it will simply wait for its prey to weaken from starvation.
- Water > Water/Dark - Abilities: Keen Eye/Volt Absorb - Chinchou and Lanturn of the sea of this region live in bodies of water work the opposite of the Chinchou and Lanturn of Kanto. Instead of blinding prey with a burst of light, it uses special night vision to scout out its prey, then sneaks up on them with quiet yet fast precision. It then grabs them with the two appendages on its head like a net.
- Rock/Psychic - Abilities: Solid Rock/Magic Bounce - Natu and Xatu of this region are said to of become what they are due to hundreds of years of stillness. They've weather all forms of dangers, from weather to attacks from other Pokémon. They are still because they are said to of seen the doom of all, and have become near emotionless as a result.
- Type: Electric > Electric >Electric/Dark - Ability: Moxie - Mareep, Flaffy and Ampharos of this region are not domesticated and live in the mountains. It is warned to never approach these Pokémon's territory because of their violent nature. Ampharos of this region can attack with such ferocity they are often compared to Primeape. The more they fight, the stronger they get.
- Type: Fire/Steel - Abilities: Flash Fire/Rock Head - Sudowoodo of this region are survivors of a volcanic eruption that changed them to be even more durable then before, but now look much like burnt trees, so they don't disguise well. They still try to mimic trees, however.
