Apparently the guy was known to be a Gamefaqs troll:

Do not pay attention to Stealth__.

The likeliest scenario here is that people are being played.

Stealth, seemingly, is known to the GameFAQs board as RPGrinder, and he's a well-known troll. In fact his account was finally suspended to Purgatory level. Whatever "credibility" he possibly has is the result of him riding off of more well-known names, specifically RogersBase.

If you're going to take anything anyone's saying into consideration, it should be Roger. And even then I'm not believing anything without any official news or data coming to light first. For that matter, I'm not aware of what RogersBase has done to give him credibility, so I can't speak on that matter.

This is no different from Tamaki, a guy known for his association with a group that was able to obtain gaming information unavailable to the public, claiming that Shovel Knight might have made it into Smash using vague language and relying on backpedaling to ensure people couldn't point fingers at him if it turned out he was wrong.

At least with Tamaki, he claimed to have sources he couldn't divulge. Mind you, that doesn't do much for his character.[

So.....why exactly should we take him seriously if there's no actual reason to?

1. It is a Newcomer, not a Third-Party, pure Nintendo
2. 100% Original, no Luigi-fied or Clones here
3. "Makes a whole lot of sense with their inclusion", "It is not someone shocking, ala Wii Fit or R.O.B." and "This person would've been added eventually."
4. Coming somewhere in the next two weeks, so we're getting 'em in October
5. RogersBase knows about this fellow as well

Stealth posted on Mar 17th about an upcoming direct following a private Nintendo Splatoon event. We did get a direct on April 1st, and this Splatoon event was real, as Andre from GameXplain did flood us with videos shortly after the event and the NDA expired.

But we didn't know if the event was real. All we knew was that Andre said he got invited to a seattle event. Stealth said his "friend" knew the event was splatoon related and that a Nintendo direct was inbound. 5 days later the private event was indeed Splatoon related and we got a proper Nintendo direct on April 1st. Regardless if its a prediction or not....he stated his "friend" has knowledge of these events, and his "friend" was right. Now hes saying his "friend" has knowledge of a newcomer. I'd say for now hes worth paying attention to.

EDIT: As I stand atm, Stealth isn't a random person like Roger. He has been in discussion in the past, and he was right about his claims. Whether hes a troll on GF is a different matter that should be looked into for now.

The guy just posted a ballot prediction video less than a week ago (If he has top secret info on who it is, why is he posting a video prediction? He knows who it is. ).

I don't know how this channel was supposed to help make him a reputable source. If I'm coming across as "mean", it's because I asked why we should trust the guy. You and everyone else defending the guy can't even give me a valid reason, let alone a good one. "He's not Stealth!", "He's on Smashboards!", and "He reacts to One Piece manga on Youtube!" aren't reasons to trust this guy.

Technically Wonderful 101 counts as First Party apparently, but considering they seem to be specifying as it being like...A Nintendo character as opposed to characters made for Nintendo, I'd think that doesn't count.
