4. Coming somewhere in the next two weeks, so we're getting 'em in October
5. Thinks the character didn't win the ballot.

Quite possibly removes the possibility of very popular ones like K. Rool and Isaac.

Stealth posted on Mar 17th about an upcoming direct following a private Nintendo Splatoon event. We did get a direct on April 1st, and this Splatoon event was real, as Andre from GameXplain did flood us with videos shortly after the event and the NDA expired.

I've already told you that A: If the Ballot is a suggestion box, the winners make it in as DLC, if it's a poll, only the most requested character is the winner.

That kills Chorus Kids actually, if they weren't leaked and bandwagoned for a short period of time...Would they be expected?

The likeliest scenario here is that people are being played.

Stealth, seemingly, is known to the GameFAQs board as RPGrinder, and he's a well-known troll. In fact his account was finally suspended to Purgatory level. Whatever "credibility" he possibly has is the result of him riding off of more well-known names, specifically RogersBase.

If you're going to take anything anyone's saying into consideration, it should be Roger. And even then I'm not believing anything without any official news or data coming to light first. For that matter, I'm not aware of what RogersBase has done to give him credibility, so I can't speak on that matter.

This is no different from Tamaki, a guy known for his association with a group that was able to obtain gaming information unavailable to the public, claiming that Shovel Knight might have made it into Smash using vague language and relying on backpedaling to ensure people couldn't point fingers at him if it turned out he was wrong.

At least with Tamaki, he claimed to have sources he couldn't divulge. Mind you, that doesn't do much for his character.

Its validity isn't odd, it's completely nonexistent. This is the Twitter equivalent of the daily "My dad works for Nintendo" 4chan leaks.

I'm going to side with Burb on this, at least until we get something that concretely puts these sources as potentially reliable. I've seen RPGrinder around GameFAQs and he's not someone I'd put stock in as a source, and Rogerbase doesn't have anything to him to make him particularly reliable either.

It could be something, but at this point, I don't see anything that makes them trustworthy at all.

I don't know much about RogersBase or why he's apparently considered reliable, but from what I glean he hasn't even clarified if it's Smash related, has he? He just says he has some 'cool Nintendo news'. Could be about the NX, a new game announcement, new amiibos or something like that. Could be anything really.
