I actually forgot to ask this earlier, but what makes the Shovel Knight rumor a rumor and not a "leak"? I mean, we call fake leaks "leaks" anyway, so it's not whether or not they're true.

@Tama has constantly referred to it as a rumor and not a leak, so I've done the same.

To be honest it could just be a word choice.

Though, if I had to guess the reason it's a "rumor" and not a "leak" is because the information was first told via a reliable source. If they had given more hard evidence (Images, video, documents, etc) in direct relation to the Shovel Knight in Smash rumor, Tamaki might have called it a "leak". They are a reliable source of information, which is the whole reason we are entertaining this rumor. If it was just a random 4chan rumor, I personally wouldn't give it the light of day.

In the end the "rumor" rests on a couple of noteworthy collaborating sources...and now some strange coincidences which point to the rumor being potentially true (Yacht Club Games no answer on the rumor, saying there could be multiple amiibo, etc). However, until we find hard evidence, it's best to call it a "rumor", as we are not 100% sure.

A lot of what we label as "leaks" should actually be labelled as "rumors" if we want to get into semantics.

I think the transforming is possible, if restricted to single moves. It'd basically be like Zelda's Phantom Slash in that it summons a different model to attack, the difference being that the Salesman disappears during the duration of the move. Or something.

That could work for Mask Salesman, but not for Young Link.
If he was playable, I think his backpack could have the masks he uses in his moveset instead of/in addition to the masks he has there in Majora's Mask.

That's a ton of info, it's incredibly detailed, and it sounds pretty realistic. Nothing jumps out here as wishlist-y (particularly the anti-piracy part, that's a new one). For a text leak, that's pretty good - but it's still a text leak.

It says he's released alongside a stage (specifically his old stage from Smash 64). As in, just like Ryu.

If the leak was actually real (which it isn't), Metal Mario is not free.
