Now that I think about it, maybe the reason the stage is by itself is because it's just meant to be a thing for Mario's 30th.

But Marios birthday was on the 13th of this month. I understand its his 30th, but why wait a few extra weeks to release it now? Also that stage4.jpg is going to bug/troll a lot of people.

The obvious logic behind the release:
Super Mario Bros. is 30 years old in 2015.
The stage comes out on September 30th.

So they are releasing it on the 30th

That's what Nintendo wants us to think. Then there's Sakurai who loves to surprise us with extra things. I still hope Guile's theme is added to the Suzaku Castle stage. Whelp, only a few more hours until everything will be revealed.

Idk, but it being a late birthday present for Mario makes a lot more sense than every theory we came up with for the past 2 weeks.
