If it's Dixie kong then I am not really interested on seeing her gets smashified because she already have a lot of HD renders. :/

Yeah I agree she doesn't really gain much from being Smashified.
Though at the same time, it doesn't really hurt to have more, and because she has so many HD renders already, it'll be easy to make her so we might see someone else sooner!

Like did you know that the green in the Mario level in Smash 64 is 100% accurate to the original game...but only on Sakurai's TV! That's because old Tvs don't have a standard color setting so it may look off on your TV.

I could see a Smash Direct happening just before the update. This, assuming there will be a lot of content.

I hope the Mario Maker stage is just a tease for a full-fledged update, though I won't be too disappointed if we only get a stage.

However, I do think a character is overdue considering the development of Lucas, Roy and Ryu was likely close to completion by April. Hell, they could've been finished sometime before June, just scheduled to match E3.

As I've said before, they could be already starting work on new characters while they finished the currently released DLC characters. Should that be the case, I think the characters we'll be getting next may be still pre-ballot.

Another indicator that this could be a bigger update: the end-July/August update only included content that was already seen at a very functional level on the E3 Smash Direct and was likely on testing phases.

In fact, they actually pushed forward the date, meaning the work likely went faster than expected. It was meant to be released in August, but actually was released in July 31st.

Given the complexity of the Super Mario Maker stage, it's has been worked on for quite a while and may be even finished by now.

My theory is that all DLC released up to July 31st was in the works from since end 2014. Features like the Miiverse stage or Tournament mode were already shown on the 50-Fact Extravaganza. Same for Mewtwo.

When they made the release date announcements, all these things were nearing the end of development. Just like how they started work on the first DLC waves when the base game was in its final development phases, it seems reasonable that the next DLC waves have already been in the works for quite a while, as in, probably since around April or May of this year.

As they're finishing the second DLC waves (to be released till the end of this year), it's likely that, now that the ballot is nearing its end, they're already planning the third (and possibly final) batch of DLC waves, using the ballot submissions as a base for the upcoming content, to which I'd give a release window for around the first half of 2016.

Then they could address the ballot on the next direct.
