the common brawler already has a set of moves to fool around with. the advanced players (or at least the players that take the time) should be rewarded for being able to do things the common brawlers can't. i would hate it if everything an advanced player could do, a newbie could easily pull off as well. sure they may not know its uses, but the fact that they can do it already just pisses me off
Yeah. One thing I love about Smash is that if you've been playing the game longer, you'll always be better than someone who hardly plays because you know the game so much better. Giving newbies a leg up by making advanced tactics easier takes away from the point of the tactics in the first place(and the fun when you can finally do them well).

Oh well, at least we'll always have people discovering and thinking of new tactics.

well i don't think it's that awful to take away wavedashing i mean i can use it and put it into good play but i don't nesseceraly need it to beat someone . and of course if they know allot about the competitive community they would likely keep somethings in that would stil require allot of skill or at least put in some new techs we can learn and make use of but i don;t see the point in whining about wavedashing. if you think you can't beat a casual player without wavedashing there is honestly no hope for you because the high lvl play doesn't require wavedashing it requires a combination of smart thinking and great timing and if you have those even the most awesome wavedashers would have a very hard time dealing with ya

They would have to stick their head up bum to not be aware of the competitive scene, that does not mean that they actually care about catering to the crowd.

Nintendo is the kind of company that puts average joes first.

By saying that you "have to play with items" or w/e he said (i saw the vid) he could be hinting that they could have taken out the item switch. =\

Slowly starting to enjoy my mothertongue again. :)
Also, on the old Dojo, in the article Sakurai mentioned how his new team had played smash so much that the rubber on their GCN controllers was worn off "like an old eraser." I don't know many other casual smash players, but when I first picked up smash (casually) I knew I wanted to get better, especially after being beaten up by CPU's (yes I was a noob). Now what's the best way to find ways to get better? The internet. I found the competitive scene (google rocks) and immediately fell in love with it. Now, if that "team" had any motivation whatsoever to get better, they would probably have done the same as me, so they probably know about advanced techniques. I don't see how you can play a game like smash so much and not want to improve.
