NiGHTS: A JOURNEY TO BRAWL?

NO. As much as I LOVE Nights, he just wouldn't fit. Sonic is a much more appropriate fit.

Man I never played the original Nights game but reading about it recently, really makes me want to get this upcoming Wii game

I also never played the original NiGHTS, but I'll buy the Wii one.

The person who did NiGHTS' music on the conductor's list btw... Maybe that gives us a hint? They could be pulling a Roy: putting a character in to advertise their upcoming game.

Personally, I might be disappointed if NiGHTS gets in, because that could totally shut Sonic out. I'd rather see Sonic, but if NiGHTS is in and she's good, I guess I won't mind.

Yea, if you look at Yoshi's Story: Ending, the person who re-composed it is the guy from Capcom who did some of the music for Killer7 and GODHAND. Just because they have credit from past games, doesn't mean they're past works will be in Smash. Personally, I'm hoping that guy does music for a Sonic level. The current Sonic music, IMO, sucks.

Wouldn't mind NiGHTS in Brawl, and its certainly possible. Nintendo and Sega are best Buds at the moment and with NiGHTS into Dreams being a Wii exclusive the blocks are already in place. Plus he fits and has a high potential for an exclusive moveset. Trouble is, Sonic is infinetely more likely and with only 2 or 3 slots assigned for thrid parties, will Nintendo give Sega two of them?
Would like to see a NiGHTS/Kirby Brawl though. Let the battle for the land of dreams commence!!!

Maybe we'll get lucky. Sakurai said there would "probably" be only 2-3 3rd Party character slots (including Snake), but that doesn't mean there can't be one or two more! And if the character himself/herself has strong ties with Nintendo, I don't see why putting them in would be a bad idea. I still consider Megaman a Nintendo character, even though he's owned by Capcom. Same goes with Geno and Crono with Squaresoft(/SquareEnix).

Personally, I'd be pissed if NiGHTS made it in over Sonic. Sonic deserves the spot WAY more than NiGHTS, but if NiGHTS was to make it into Brawl I wouldn't mind that much; and I would understand why, with its new game coming out and all.

I think it safe to say that Sonic and Megaman are in. There is no way in way that NiGHTS would ever make it in if sonic didn't, but I like his chances!

Get outa town with that. Megaman had his first SEVEN games on the NES and his eighth on the SNES. Not only that, but he's still making games for the Nintendo. He's one of the most popular characters on the market and is the semi-official Capcom mascot. If there are two characters who deserve a spot in Brawl most, they're Sonic and Megaman without a doubt. Find any other single video game character that has shown more success than Mario, Sonic, or Megaman and I'll back down immediately. (Also Pacman has just as much popularity, if not more, but I don't think he'd be a good addition just because he's dumb looking as a 3D model)

Geno isn't as popular as Sonic or Megaman. I'm not about the "Most Requested for Brawl" poll, I'm talking in general.

Geno played second banana in Super Mario RPG. Don't get me wrong! I love that game and I love Geno, but he just doesn't have the reputation that Megaman and Sonic do. Sonic and Megaman have accumulated way more money than Geno ever did. Also, I don't think Geno really is under the control of Square. If he was, how could they have put Geno in Mario & Luigi? I'm pretty sure Nintendo has the rights to every character in SMRPG (except Bahamut of course).

Same with NiGHTS. Love the idea of the character, she/he seems like she/he would fit nicely in the Smash series, but Sonic just overpowers NiGHTS in popularity. It would be nice to have them both, but if either of them were to be the representative of Sega, it would have to be Sonic.

Besides, Sonic is Sega's mascot, as is Megaman Capcom's mascot. That shuts NiGHTS down, and I can tell you that Geno definitely isn't Square's mascot. I don't know who is at this point, probably Cloud, but Geno really doesn't show up that close to the top on Square's "Possible Mascot" leaderboard.

Also, I would take Nights over sonic in Brawl any day of the week. And I'm a man who absolutely adored Sonic adventure 2 for the GC, and never even played Nights.

You just don't get it. You're just one person. The population adores Megaman and the population adores Megaman. Sakurai's going to do what's possible and what's popular. Geno's popular, and Geno's possible; the thing is though, that Megaman's MORE popular and possible.

Its not so much a question of whats popular, but of what sells. Characters like Sonic and Megaman sell games like no other, and would bring the same effect to Brawl. Just think, thousands of Megaman and Sonic fans converging upon Smash Bros to use their favourite characters.

NiGHTS wouldn't be put in to sell the game, but could be used by Sega as a bit of shameless promotion for 'Journey of Dreams'. And anyway NiGHTS has a much bigger fanbase than Geno does, its just that the NiGHTS fanbase steers well clear of the Smash Forums, whereas the Geno fanbase doesn't.

There you go, thank you, that's basically what I was trying to say but couldn't find the words to what I meant.

It's not that Geno couldn't make it, in fact he should and might, it's just that Megaman and Sonic have that attractiveness that sells games. If they put Geno in, everyone who played Super Mario RPG would play Smash, but technically they would have started out as Mario fans (because they bought a Mario game and not a Geno game) and probably play Smash already. If Megaman or Sonic were to make it, they would attract Sonic fans and Megaman fans who may not be familiar to the series and would pick up on the series, therefore putting more money in Nintendo's pocket.

dont get it?... I'm not sayin he shouldnt get in just because I don't like him. I hate Krystal, but I accept that there's a good possibility she'll get in. I just don't think he meshes that well into the lineup. disagree if you want, that's just how I feel.

Oh, come on. He's the perfect Smash character. He's cartoony, tough, and has an arsenal of more moves than a normal human can count. He'd fit the spot perfectly. He spent his first 7 games on Nintendo systems only and Capcom still has strong ties with Nintendo so I don't see how he couldn't be in Brawl.

I was thinking something similar...his up B could be a move where he's temporarilly flying, during which you can loop and cause a big explosion. But otherwise, I dunno. A midair grab would be a must for him, w/him slowly spinning around them before punting. He could work, maybe. I hope he does. At least let him be an AT! He's BEAUTIFUL! And that's coming from a straight guy!

I never played the original Nights but i heard it was a good game. And this would be a great way to endorse the new Wii Nights coming out, which i most likely plan on getting. This character would be a great addition to Brawl.

^^I only played the demo cd for the Sega Saturn. And also, I played as him in Sonic Riders.

I don't know about Nights being in Brawl. There's just so many other great 3rd party choices out there....

He'd be promoting his game, kinda like Roy did, except NiGHTS is released in Fall... I'd play as him, even if I didn't play his original game... I've always wanted to, but have never had the chance... I plan to pick up Journey of Dreams though.

Bad Characters????????????? Sir, that is where I draw the line. NiGHTS is the second most notable character ever created by SEGA outside of the Sonic Universe. Not only does he offer the possibility of a truly unique move set, but also he is the in a sense to Sonic what Link is to Mario. Of course, we would never see the addition of the latter over the mascots of the companies themselves, but I would much rather see NiGHTS over the abominations of Petey the Bumbling Piranha or some other “well-known” idiots. If anything, I feel the utmost confidence in saying that he doesn’t make the roster, I have no doubt that he will find a prominent position among the assist trophies. Either way it goes, Sakurai never fails to impress…take for example the highly anticipated Deoxys. He may not have made the cut, but he still is a force to be reckoned with. However, in his absence, who would ever have imagined the unique play style of the Pokemon Trainer to take his place.

Anyway I think it is definitly possible for NiGHTS to be in brawl for two reasons.
1. the game is by SEGA, a company close to Nintendo
2. they have a NiGHTS game comming out on the Wii

I think nights would be cool in the game, but would much much much rather see sonic in it. If there wasent a problem with both of them in, i would welcome Nights with an open heart. But with only three spots for 3rd party characters, im afraid i dont think Night's chances are as high as some others.
