Baltimore's not going to win the division even with their sweep of us if they keep playing the way they are playing.

-Beat Steelers

-Lose to bad team Steelers wrecked

All 3 teams they lost to are teams we beat pretty bad. They should of lost to Arizona as well.

Way back when, the NFL didn't have overtime.
This is wrong. Over time has always been around.

The first overtime game ever was the colts/giants game for the NFL Chamionship(not super bowl, and the colts qb was johnny unitas).

A tie can only occur in the regular season, and it occurs when a games goes into overtime, but the teams play through the whole overtime without scoring.

Overtime used to only exist in the post-season, you mean.

I'm surprised no one remembers Donovan McNabb's Overtime fiasco in his last year with Philly. He thought there was gonna be a second OT, but it ended in a tie.

"I didn't know you could have a tie."

Detroit's not making the playoffs.
It seems as if losing one game has completely changed their entire culture way more than it should have. I guess look for them to continue in their old ways... However, as easy as it is to write them off, they did get off to a good start and can still finish strong. It's hard to believe in Detroit now especially remembering the last time they got off to a good start: (6-2 record, and then dropped all the way to 6-7 right after that back in 2007) but there's no reason why they should endlessly tank after such an impressive start. Well, other than the fact that they are the Detroit Lions. >.<

Yep, I remember that. I believe they tied with the Bengals... I also remember that apparently a few years back before that day they ran into Atlanta in the playoffs who had a tie that season. Under that circumstance, people thought it was a lot more silly what Donovan had to say after that game.

I was watching the highlights to the Bears vs Lions game...

I try not to look at Suh as a dirty player, but he had some moments against Cutler that made Cutler yell in his face. Points to Cutler for not being a QB to not back down.

Matt Leinart is back in...I feel so bad for the Texans. If he couldn't make it work with the Cards...who had Boldin AND Fitz...not sure how he's gonna handle it with the Texans. I mean Kurt Warner got a 1000 yards from 3 different receivers in one year. Breaston, Boldin, and Fitz.

Though for what it's worth, the Texans' run game has been unstoppable, and AJ should be coming back. Wade Phillips and his confused reactions have gotten the Texans D playing great as well.

i hope so. leinart has been such a big let down for the cards, maybe he can pull it together for the texans? i still think the texans will make the playoffs just because of how bad the rest of the division is, but it feels like now the texans will just one and done in the playoffs :/

The Texans run game has only been good, because they have(had) a respectable run D.
Not that their season will now fall apart without Schaub, but games will get alot closer.

definitely, but in todays metagame, having a QB that can throw the ball well is becoming so much more essential, and i dont think leinart is going to be able to do that for the texans :x

Their offensive run game is good because of their run defense???

The Texans, in the past 3 years...2 of those years they have been excellent with the run. If anything, you chalk it up to them being proficient with the passing game so that defenses don't stack the box.

Steve Slaton had a 1200 yard season in his rookie year with the Texans. Then he got fat and sucked. Then Arian Foster came and wrecked the house last year. The run game has always been there, even when their defense was a pile of crap.

And two teams that are currently defying the tradition of needing a pass QB so teams won't stack the box against the run are the 49ers and Broncos. Though I would be more concerned about the Broncos balance than the 49ers.

A few years ago, Miami went to the playoffs relying solely on the Wildcat. The previous season, they had gone 1-15.

I still think detroits making the playoffs, but itll likely be as the 6th seed and they will be one and done. Will choke in the playoffs because they've never been there before. I've seen it happen all to often.

Take Kansas city last year.

Now the Bills, on the other hand, aren't making the playoffs. I've felt this way even before they starting going south. Too hard a division, and the AFC is way more difficult than the NFC.

This is my first season following the NFL in a couple of years, and it's only because of the NBA lockout.

I think I picked a good time to do so, however, because I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality of play around the league. It seems the quality of QBs is at an all-time high; 2/3rds of the NFL has a serviceable, or promising, quarterback, it seems.

I'm also ecstatic my childhood team, the 49ers, are one of the best teams in the NFL!

I've been following FO since its existence in 2006 so I'm biased; I respect their formula the most.

Unbelievable that the Texans rank first! And Matt Schaub goes down! What a bummer. It was already going to be interesting to see what they do re: Arian Foster's workload.

I'm really disappointed with the Eagles, as is the rest of the world. Juan Castillo seems like the worst defensive coordinator ever. Check out this blurb:

Nnamdi Asomugha was only on Larry Fitzgerald for 20-of-46 pass plays in Sunday's loss, according to Philly.com.
Asomugha bottled up Fitzgerald on those 20 plays, holding the stud receiver without a reception on two targets. But on the other 26 plays, Fitzgerald got off for seven catches, 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Nice to see another Niner fan on this board. With that rotoworld source, well...that was what Nnamdi was paid to do. At the same time though, I have seen Nnamdi get burned by several no name receivers this year. He's at that age where CBs do start to decline. Clearly should not be mentioned in the same sentence as Revis.

Though his lack of success may also have to do with Juan Castillo's schemes. I read somewhere he likes to employ a lot of zone looks which confuses the heck out of me on why you would do that when you have 3 legit corners.

Yeah, he has been an o-line coach for the Eagles for quite some time. The last time he was a D-coord was when he coached highschool 10 years ago.

Gang green gonna play tomorrow.

If these guys lose to Tim Teblows, I'm gonna just drop the season.

This whole season has been nothing but a heart ache.

To be fair, I'm sure Jets could have had a better score Sunday if all they had done was run the ball.

It works on opponents with Butts defense

So how about them Dolphins? Yes I'm from Miami so I'm compelled to follow em :p.

But in all seriousness, I was debating the AFC East playoff contenders... and aside from Miami... they all look pretty sharp. I honestly think that the Bills have a chance of seizing it this year, even with their recent embarassing defeat(s). And if not... obv Pats. Discuss?

You heard it here.

Jets will try to put their best foot forward to scrap into the playoffs.

eh i think the afc lacks depth this year in good teams. i think AFC Will have five good teams in the playoffs + one bad team from the afc west, and i see green bay beating whoever makes it to the superbowl

I always liked the Bungals...hope they get in.

And the NFC has sooo much more depth minus the Packers and 49ers? :/

I know Detroit is having an amazing year by what they are used to, but they have a ridiculous schedule coming up.

The texans got Matt Leinart! Thing went well with him in Arizona right? :troll:

Also Texans will get into the playoffs. They pretty much have their division on lock down. They just have to worry about the return of the Indianapolis Mannings next year.

Patriots / Jets essentially.

Some good games this week. Gonna follow them all hopefully.
