Who else couldn't forget that day. Everyone was ecstatic for that teaser alone after so much Splatoon 2 content.

That teaser is iconic imo. I didn't watch the March 8th, 2018 direct live, but an hour or so after it ended (I was busy so i couldn't watch it on time) i checked a subreddit to see a sumary of the direct....and i saw that fire logo on the first post....i was "BRO, WHAT IS THAT.....SMASH 5? FOR REAL?" Back then, a some of us weren't expecting a Smash 5 reveal this "early", so i was in disbelief for a few minutes, that fire logo was hype as hell lol.
I still remember the Smash 4 Deluxe vs Smash 5 debates after the trailer, god times lol.

I remember voting for Rayman. Even back in the day a Rhythm heaven rep was my most wanted, but I knew this wasn't winning so I voted for Rayman, who was like my second most wanted at the time. Today, while I'd still love Rayman, he dropped a bit in my most wanted lists because I've discovered so many new games in the last 10 years and also at the time I voted for Rayman I thought that the "Nintendo connection" was really important, but with Cloud's announcement I realised that many other characters are possible.

Still, it's fun that he end up as a spirit and in the battlefield ice block even though I wish they did way more with the franchise. A music or two would have been fun.

If we got Sora after these three i would agree with you fully.

Sora and Megaman's reveals were the most hype i ever felt towards a smash newcomer.

Shantae, Crash Bandicoot, and Rayman.

None made it as a fighter. At least Shantae gets a spirit and a Mii Costume with Burning Town OST.

Though, I can't who else since I was more closed minded back then and remember my rage after Bayonetta's reveal in Smash 4. It has been a long journey now looking back.

I was surprisingly glad when Pac-Man got revealed.

Despite growing up with the original Namco arcade games and a handful of other Pac-Man games as well as Pac-Man being one of the very first video game mascots I was ever introduced to, I...wasn't sold on the idea of Pac-Man in Smash at first. I just wasn't sure he could feasibly be given a complete and actually fun moveset.

I was happy to be proven and admit I was wrong.

I actually can't remember anymore... I do remember pitching my vote to K.Rool as part of Dixie Gang helping fellow K.Rool Kutthroats.

I have a hunch I put votes primarily on Captain Toad, Dixie, Takamaru and perhaps Chrom. But AFAIK, it was one vote per "member"...

So yeah, bit drawing blank right now. Tho I feel none of my wishes made it outside of Chrom (who I still believed to have no chances anyway).

Meh. To me, it just means you don’t care much about the Square Enix boys.

Starfy, because I felt like the Assist Trophy was a disservice to the character, though I didn't actively express that in the Why section lol

And I can't feel any older than I did when I realized TTYD was 20 years old when the remake came out.

There were a bunch I did, but the ones I remember clearly are Simon Belmont and Professor Layton. Really happy that Simon got in, although sad that Professor Layton, let alone Level-5 in general aside from DQ's Eight, didn't get any attention.

I voted for King K. Rool. I was super lucky we actually got him in Ultimate. I might have voted for a third party like Battletoads instead had I known that third party characters would get as big as they did but I’m still really happy I voted for K. Rool.

Are you considering yourself stupid back then on the basis on that Ganondorf with a not great moveset is a character that's already in Smash, or on the basis that Ganondorf getting a better balanced and more accurate Ganondorf moveset is probably a pipe dream?

The Falcondorf moveset needs to be replaced with a better one eventually dang it
