At least one person wants to hear my stupid theory so here it is.
Allow me to present my ridiculous Fighter Pass theory:
The Dragon Quest Vocation Theory! In Dragon Quest III, VI, VII, and IX, you had the option of changing a character's class (barring the Hero's). And though some games didn't allow players to change a character's vocation, they fell under recurring classes in the series (DQXI example: Erik is a thief, Veronica is a mage, Rab and Serena are priests, Jade a martial artist, etc.) So far, each one of the Fighter Pass characters has represented a
prominent recurring vocation/class in the Dragon Quest series. Let's see:
- represents the Hero class (duh). The Hero is its own class and can't be changed.
- represents the Thief class.
- (Icon for Terry would go here) represents the Martial Artist class.
- may seem weird at first, but bear in mind (no pun intended) that Banjo was originally conceived as a sword-wielder. That makes Banjo an honorary representation of the Warrior class.
The last major Dragon Quest class we haven't seen been represented by a Fighter Pass character is the Mage class or the Priest class.
This must mean that FP5 must either represent the mage class, priest class, or both. Obviously, there is other classes that I didn't cover, but the Hero, Thief, Martial Artist, Mage, and Priest are the most frequently recurring classes in the Dragon Quest series.
There you have it people, I've solved the case of FP5! Pack it up! Case closed!
