Apparently, someone that predicted 4 out of 7 mii DLC costumes correctly in Smash is also saying Crash is the 5th DLC character?

Well I guess that at least spices up DLC talk for now, but all this only confirms Dynasty Warriors will be the next franchise after Fatal Fury.

In any case that's our perception because since a few months these characters are frequently mentioned in speculation and some leaks. I definitely not see Geno being fighter 5. Future DLC? Maybe.

Of these 3 the only one that has something backing him is Hayabusa (IAmShifty and Brew), and we don't know for sure if that info is 100% reliable.

I'm talking about perception and all that because as far as I know fighter 5 could be repeating the same situation like Joker or Terry, characters that weren't specially discussed during speculation for one reason or another, and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai surprises us again with the next character.

So far we don't actually know anything, but Hayabusa's been popping up in loads of fake leaks which is surprising as nobody really talked about him until Joker was announced

Doomguy is just FPS Erdrick anyways.

Here's something fun: If X character gets in smash, what is one very inconsequential thing they must have?

Example: If Knuckles gets in smash then his hit and/or death quote must be "Oh no".

If Crono gets in, as awesome as Luminare is, his final smash should be a triple tech.

If Fawful get in, his taunt should say “I have fury!”

If Mike Jones gets in, his morningstar should change to a yo yo at high damage.

If Bonk gets in, he should have female Bonk from the arcades as alternate costumes (I know what you’re thinking, Bonk isn’t getting in).

If Ring Fit Adventurer gets in, they should be playable with ring con.

Klonoa does seem to have a cult following so he may get Assist Trophy status someday.

It certainly gives me life, too, it means that it lowers his chances of being the Bethesda rep. If that's how the casual audience reacts to him (and they of course care most about their home market) then Doom Slayer probably wouldn't be Nintendo's first choice during negotiations Oh, what do we have here? I hear a powerful booming voice in the distance!

It's fun to see the Japanese reactions to Doomguy, both "too Samus" and ones that want him but are concerned about the violence. Surprising support for Master Chief too!

I'll pop off if fighter 5 is something like Oda Nobunaga just for the Dynasty Warriors guy in this thread's reaction. I also have friends who love the Musou games (and I'm actually gonna buy Pirate Warriors 3 as a little treat for myself tonight).

Now I could talk about Phoenix and Heihachi and 2B and Layton and Style Savvy until the cows come home, but I want to bring up something we've glossed over a little: sports games.

Without counting the potential of Waluigi, are there any sports reps you think would be fun? Obviously I have Ryota and Akari Hayami from Wave Race and 1080 Snowboarding - attacking with sick tricks and dolphins would be a blast - but there's also stuff like the classic NES sports games (Golf, Soccer, Ice Hockey) and even the NES Pro Wrestlers (Starman was always my favorite).

And to tie it into an even sillier conversation, what about Tony Hawk? Impossible but you can't tell me he wouldn't be fun.

Plant was maybe a day before the Direct, Joker I think wasn't even leaked at all, BK maybe three days or so before the E3 Direct, and Terry also like, what, three days? And the only reason why we knew about Hero beforehand was because of that entire "Brave" datamine. I just really don't trust anyone who claims to know DLC fighters months in advance.

I don't know if you would count it since its basically half sports, half JRPG, but I wouldn't really mind seeing Mark Evans from Inazuma Eleven making it in as far as sports characters go, as much of a long shot as he probably is. My main priorities still lie on Layton though as far as Level 5 characters go.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Mii costume for the character and his team uniform though, would probably go nicely with the soccer ball item too.

I agree, If i made a Wario Land 6, I would put in Waluigi, Captain Syrup and Shake King as playable characters. (Shake King forms a truce with the Wario Bros and Syrup as he decides to team up with them.)

I know, that's pretty much what I was trying to say. Although I don't care about the genre outside of Smash much, I can see some reps with sports game themed attacks being fun.

Aside from the 1st party sports reps, there's support for Kunio, e.g. and I can imagine him having a couple of dodgeball/volleyball themed attacks.

I want to see Wario Ware characters in a Wario Land game where an evil guy takes all of Wario's friends and mind controls them but Wario's like "Eh, whatever" but then he finds out that this evil dude has a massive golden castle or something like that and that's what motivates him to go after him.

I mean the story is kind of dumb but what would be interesting is having Wario fight his friends. Jimmy T could have like a disco fight, Ashley could fight Wario in a haunted setting and 9-volt could make Wario go through some old NES games but it glitches up. I don't know about anyone else but It would be really cool to see.

It's just as I mentioned.

Fake leaks are merely advertisements. However, sometimes, it goes on and on up until the point when "can we talk about any other character for like one day"? I mean, why use that as a strategy? It's quite curious to me in fact. You're basically taking the concept that "this character could be in Smash". Soon enough, despite the illegitimacy of the leak, people will flock over and get to know the character more, and eventually, people would want to ask Sakurai to just put the character in the game. If said character didn;t make it, they'll clamor to Sakurai. That's how I see it.

I'm not a fan of this system. It seems to disappoint more than appease. That's all me.

I say at this point these are the most likely characters for DLC fighter 5. From most likely to least likely IMO.

1. Doom Slayer
2. Crash Bandicoot
3. Ryu Hayabusa
4. Capcom rep (Amaterasu, Dante, Phoenix Wright, Resident Evil rep, etc.)
5. Namco rep (Agumon, Chosen Undead, KOS-MOS, Tales rep, etc.)

When you think about it, it's totally in character for the Heroes. Dragon Quest protagonists frequently commit grand larceny, heresy, invasion of privacy, indulgence in prostitution, and mass genocide on metal slimes.

Inazuma Eleven was great. Mario Strikers should steal the feel of the story mode from that.

I'd say Agumon, Chosen Undead and KOS-MOS are definitely characters that'd be surprising reveals. I feel Agumon is kinda being slept on given its history rivalry with Pokemon.

Dovahkiin is another to keep an eye on too. Lara Croft I say would more likely be post-Pass.

I've seen so many fake Hayabusa leaks I dunno what to believe anymore. This is one of those times I must keep my mind wide open.
