Unfortunately, the speculation has died out. Everything that could have a chance has already been talked about. With no new leak or piece of information coming through, there's nothing to really say. That's why people eventually turn from 'speculation' to 'wishes' (and from there, the line gets blurred further).
Probably a combination of people wanting something to talk about and it having been months since the last reveal. All I can really think.
Fake rumors are killed too, and I think that's a good thing. There are still 2 days, rumors suggested Morrigan and the protagonists of Namco × Capcom. Vergeben said "no". Perhaps it would therefore be useful to multiply the fake rumors until waiting for Vergeben to say nothing about one of them

Kinda, this new rumor is probably just him believing a random nobody on Discord just because he said something that could confirm the Mii costume leak.

I don't know if they're disconfirmed, but a convincing leak is being prepped as you speak.
Totally. Sakurai has stated that he's taking any chances he can get to promote Japanese games around the world with Smash Bros, that's why after 20 years we only got one western franchise added into Smash while everyone else is either a Trophy or Spirit. I doubt Sakurai is interested in promoting western games like Doom in Japan.
That can't be right. My sources say we're getting KOS-MOS as the fifth Fighters Pass character, Geno as the first post-Fighters-Pass character, and while they can't say who the character after Geno is, all they could tell me is that they're not owned by Arika, Behaviour Interactive, or Gearbox Software. (I hope it's obvious that I'm joking here)

Actually, Imran & Tansut leaked a SE newcomer first prior to the datamining, not Vergeben. That’s yet another instance of piggy-backing.
Brawl's fate merely highlighted a simple truth - that speculating on a Smash game delivers a completely different high from actually playing a Smash game. I'd wager plenty that ancient Melee speculation and Melee itself run on completely different fuels.
And people wonder why we miss being on the speculation side of a Smash game's launch.
The fact people still actually think this way boggles my mind.
That dosent mean Japanese only games like touhou are getting in if doom a FPS that’s unknown in the east cant get in because of that
Touhou isn't Japan only, though. There are plenty of Touhou projects coming over here now.
Sakurai called Doom the “father of FPS”.
No, just the stuff he speculates on isn’t concrete, and he’s acknowledged that.
I don't think anyone here can say, with absolute certainty, what Sakurai "wants" to do with roster additions. He spent part of the demonstration video for Banjo (a western character) promoting the Xbox One (a console that's so unpopular in Japan that, as of February of this year, it's only sold a little over a hundred thousand units in that country - by contrast, the Wii U sold 3.3 million in Japan).
Well we already saw Dragon Quest, a series that mostly only popular in Japan, got in while series that are barely recognized in Japan (like Rayman) were Trophies and Spirits.
Then where’s the official localized touhou games then?
