Sounds pretty standard. Can't really knock people for giving statements like those, though. They're trying to keep clout to retain their 'go-to gaming info status'. It's what anyone would do, really.

The question beyond Fighter Pass #5 that we haven't thought about it is 'When does the character release?' Sure we're hoping to see who is revealed today, but what about when it drops? So far, each new character that released at least hinted the next, but #5 wasn't even teased, so how far off are they from release? Was it all a ploy to drum up hype and then shadow drop the character for tomorrow? Was the reveal delayed till now so they could also preview the first character of the next pass as well? Are we waiting a few days or another month for the 5th character?

There's a lot still up in the air beyond 'who is character number 5?' that will make the wait hard even if we find out the identity tonight.

Post-Pass DLC began being planned and negotiated around May, just before E3 when Geno should have come back as a costume with Hero. And Megalovania got copyright striked and it took months for Sans to show up.

So even if it means Geno shows up as an upgraded Mii Costume later, the jury's still out on post-pass. But nobody's expecting him to be FP5, that ship sailed months ago.

Agreed. This does bring up an interesting point though. Even if we were to assume they flagged the Geno and Banjo because the remixes were coming to smash, that was done months in advance (going under the assumption it means something). In contrast, if KOS MOS was FP 5, this would, from what I can tell, be a day before the reveal. If anything, this would signify a later release date for KOS MOS if anything. Though I'm not going to lie, the video being flagged as Mario Kart makes this takedown really sus.

It could also be dependent on where the complaint came from too. It's really, really unlikely - though fully possible - that the takedown could come from a really weird place such as India. Where MKT is pretty much the primary Nintendo game currently (due to Nintendo having virtually no console history there AFAIK - any Switches that wind up in India are grey-market imports). No kidding.

Really, without more info it's nigh-impossible to say why the takedown happened.

Maybe take it a step further, upload it on an alt account, and then use another account to try and fake copyright strike it. See if that's possible. I don't like abusing that system but it might shed some light on some stuff.

We only have a few more hours for a possible Smash reveal, so I would just wait until then. At this point, digging for an answer would only spoil the surprise and make people aware of the character, like, three or four hours early. It's not worth it in my opinion.

Back from the dead that is the conversations of leaks which I have fully ignored. Just wanted to say that I advocate the idea of more dual characters like that being said, I'm also in favor of the idea of Pluse and Minum in Smash. The only other Electric Pokemon is LITERALLY Pikachu (I mean...it's literally pre-evolved Pikachu.) So, more electric types doesn't sound too bad. (Course I'm also in favor of Zeraora and possibly Electrive.) Also in favor of Captain Toad & Toadette coming up as a team. I don't really see Toadette as an echo fighter...just seems fair for both of them to be present on the roster.

Like I can admit, I don’t go to the Geno page a lot because it’s a little too zany for me. But like they get a bad wrap imo. Like I’m actually cool with whoever getting into smash, obviously I have my wants. However, I get frustrated when groups of people get claimed of “acting” in ways when every group, including this one does it.

I guess I‘ll say that I don’t think the video being taken down means too much, as the YouTube copyright system is easy to manipulate and Nintendo could have very well been reported a mod video and took it down because of that, but honestly I don’t really have much of an opinion either way.

I wasn’t planning on watching TGA anyway. My actual plan is to fly over to where they’re being hosted and threaten Geoff until he reveals the 5th character live on-stream.
