I hope KOS-MOS is added to the kill list next, or that we just get some clearance on this...
If KOS-MOS gets added to the kill list then we'd essentially be in no different a position than we were early Saturday morning considering what's been killed by Verge since then.

So basically a Sega/Atlus/Joker situation. I getcha.
Kind of? I'd say it's a little more comparable to Geno or Banjo & Kazooie overall. She wasn't originally a Nintendo character like Banjo & Kazooie were, but she was always Monolith Soft's character and they now work for Nintendo pretty much exclusively, so it's one of those weird custody battle type situations.

Even if she does get killed, it ain't over until the fat lady sings; some will think it IS KOS-MOS because of that slip up. Only time will tell.

Master Chief,
you mind telling me what you're doing in Smash?
Finishing the fight.

Edit: :ultgreninja:

Something tells me the entire situation's gonna get ridicolous:

(I'm so gonna continue posting ridicolous images from real comics.)

Master Chief falls under "I don't want him but damn he would be hype as hell" for me. I wasn't an Xbox kid so I didn't grow up with him. But I would have to be living under a rock to not know how important he is as a video game character.

God dammit, Vergeben’s leaker slipped on a banana peel and basically says it’s Kosmos.

Here's the deal: Namco owns all of KOS-MOS. Maybe Monolith used to own some of her, but they don't anymore. Check copyrights for any KOS-MOS product made in the last few years, or Project X Zone.

However, I'm lead to believe that Nintendo and Monolith may co-own her specific Xenoblade design, like how Nintendo owns Bayonetta's Bayo 2 design. So, technically, Verg could be right about the complicated rights.

Depending on that, I coukd see the devs going for the OG Design, but which?

The thing that makes it confusing is that it seems like Namco gives the Kosmos pants to Monoloith Soft. Namco kinda admits it in interviews.

#2: Techies or Tinker (Dota 2) [Trust me, they're often outright painful to play against in their home game. Sometimes it's even painful to have them as allies.
This man speaks the truth
I would know because I play both of them :4pacman:
I swear this has just been Phoenix the last week or so.
I swear tomorrow Verge is gonna come out and say his source got Apollo confused with Phoenix or some **** and he's gonna be back on the table

Master Chief is 100% my pipe dream character for Smash, and I know it would practically break every part of the internet if it happened. It would be my two favorite franchises across the aisle of gaming politics coming together in a seriously amazing moment.

Monolith is the owner after all...
No, they aren't. They're the creators. At most, they co-own one design with two other parties.

Namco still owns the character.

Right, like how Disney tends to defer to Square over the original KH characters. It's the rights holder respecting the creators/developers.

But Namco is still the essential party in acquiring KOS-MOS, Monolith isn't. They may be involved, but they aren't absolutely needed.

Plot twist: The Phoenix Wright deconfirmation was actually meant for this guy...

We doin' most wanted characters again!? See, this is why everyone needs a spiffy signature with all of their most wanted. We ask this every other day.

Anyway, here's something a little more unorthodox. Fill in the next 5 DLC characters using the following criteria:

Fighter #1: Who da heck is that?
Fighter #2: Character you despise.
Fighter #3: Character you've been begging for.
Fighter #4: Character from a new game
Fighter #5: They actually got in?!?!
Ohhhhh, that's a fun one!

Fighter 1: I dunno, I consider myself pretty well versed in series. I guess like... if it was a CoD protag or something?
Fighter 2: That's also a tough one, I'm usually pretty lax in this regard these days. While I don't DESPISE him or his series at all, quite the opposite, I guess Goku fits that bill.
Fighter 3: Geno. God just let him so I can be happy and the Smash world won't have to talk about about him every waking character discussion.
Fighter 4: Ajna from Indivisible, I suppose. She'd be neat!
Fighter 5: Steve. While I've always welcomed the idea of him being in, I'd still be shocked to see it actually happen.

As much as I do not want to believe in Fan Rules, this would be a shocker even to me.
