My top five huh?

1. DOTA 2 (Lina the Slayer as the likeliest partially because her moveset's simple but unique, and partly because it's very easy for many Japanese to recognize what her inspiration is. The second reason gets around MOBAs being niche-to-almost-non-existent in Japan.)
2. Dante
3. Arle Nadja
4. Style Savvy protagonist
5. Master Chief

That's leaving out loads of characters in my top 30 or so. Guess I'm easy to please.

What’s this about a Popo/Nana slot tho? If we get a duo character that works like IC I don’t think they’ll be FP5 at least. Maybe post pass. Akira Howard and Legion?

Sharing this from another thread:

So, something interesting now that 6.0 has released: the unstacked character select screen now has physical space for about 11 slots (FP5 + 10). That's the same number as we got from the initial WoL datamine. Could be just a coincidence and a datamine would be way more reliable than this, but I thought I'd share either way.

Interestingly, the same number roughly applies to the Squad Strike CSS (2 on each side of the Miis, then move everything up and add one more row of 7).

Like, 75℅ of the game's roster punches or kicks in some way. There really aren't that many swords compared to hand-to-hand combat characters. Even less use ranged weapons.

People in this fanbase get weirdly hung up on character's choice of weapons, lol. It's such an arbitrary thing to me, bit eh, whatevs.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Technically this doesn't kill the Mii Rumor, as that was related to costumes not characters. It's interesting they're ruling out Doom Slayer.

To be fair, if accurate, this just means that DOOM and/or SMRPG content isn't related to FP5. There's nothing said about future FPs.

My ideas would be 2B, a Capcom character (leaning towards Dante or RE), or maybe a Namco character like Tekken or Lloyd.

I'm assuming VGA so someone of that calibur.

Yeah I did realise, but that was at the beginning of the pack. If Terry and Heihachi are the end of the FP, why not release them together? Have a FGC themed 6.0 update like we basically got anyway.

Both Byleth and Edelgard have strong points in their favor. I wouldn't undersell her when she was, among other things, literally the face of Three Houses's marketing.

Byleth's the main protagonist tho. They always go with that or the face/icon/mascot first before other characters in the franchise.

TBH given the entire Pass is so far 3rd party I don't see it. I can see post-pass however.

Why not save Joker and Hero for E3 to have an JRPG inspired pass and just use Banjo for VGA? Like that's not good enough reasoning for me to doubt Tekken yet.

Halo trailers have always had a tendency of throwing people off of their scent as very best they could since Halo 3. Halo 3's first trailer opened with 2 kids in a field discussing what could be in space before showing the Chief throw down a bubble shield and block an incoming projectile. Halo 5 showed Chief trekking across a desert completely cloaked. And Halo Infinite showed a bunch of nature and wildlife before showing Chief.

They have to do that. They have to show off close ups of the fantasy world of Halo itself, the wildlife, the artifacts, without giving it away and then towards the end of the trailer panning towards the curve of the ring revealing that it is indeed Halo. Have Samus and Link and others step into the camera looking over the "horizon" of Halo only to be encountered by a barrage of attacks from out of nowhere. The Chief steps in. "Master Chief Finishes the Fight". The Halo theme kicks in. Gameplay is shown over that iconic guitar rift. Perfect.

This would make me cry. Master Chief is the only character that’d get me that emotional, though Banjo was close. Halo is my favorite game series ever, it’s the series that got me into gaming more seriously.

My boy Steve is back in conversation? Nice.

Banjo was neat and all, but I wanted Block Man more. Minecraft music in Smash would be the beeeeest, the stage would also be incredible.

This doesn’t disprove the Mii leak. Those could be for DLC after FP1.

Also, I was thinking about it & Lloyd could be TGA’s reveal. With Namco revealing Tales of Arise on MS’s E3 stage, I think they’re trying to push the series in the West much more now. An Arise trailer followed by Lloyd in Smash at the TGAs would definitely get more eyes on the series.
