New Tier List: No Longer Active

Would I be completely crazy if I started thinking that Kirby may be closer to Pikachu than he/she/it is to Fox?

^^Really depends on the stage. On dreamland, I think we'd all say kirby is closer to pika than fox. On hyrule, you'd be crazy, but everywhere else its certainly not crazy. Might not be correct on all 3 other stages, but I wouldn't say crazy.

I'm going to try to update this sometime soon and move on to the next question I guess.

Link really is stupidly good on Hyrule. Falcon just happens to be one of the characters that can catch him due to his speed, but Link messes the rest of the cast up there, especially Kirby.

Link is only good as long as he maintains stage control.
As mentioned earlier, he has no way to efficiently deal with pressure.
He can also get outcamped by Fox, and Mario's fireballs can disrupt his camping, allowing Mario to get in.

Using 2 different categories for certain people though is rather strange.
Is Samus in high or top tier in Japan because Jousuke mains samus?
Luigi>Samus, actually has some OK matchups (but Luigi sucks anyway imo)
Similarly, Mario>Yoshi, Mario's matchup spread is much better. (imo)

If we move to a DL only stage list (it does seem like that is occurring judging by I don't know 90 percent of tournament matches,) I would see Link dropping even further

Lol at know how to use him. And luigi might be The worst char. But no way jose he is in a bottom tier by hiself. Best finnisher and top 3 recovery in this game, makes him at least The same tier to Ness,link and samus.

I stopped promoting this project because there wasn't nearly enough participation from the top top players, so I moved my attentions over to some other smash related projects that I don't require as much participation from other people. If someone else wants to take this over and make a new tier list I'm all for it, I just don't have time to sift through this and determine who thinks what, how much everyone's opinion is worth, and so on.

if pro KB, multiply by 1/2.
if not North America, tell jokes and subtract 10.
tips: conceit can be decresed by adding "IMO/IMHO" at the end.

This may be uninformed opinion, but why is Samus at the bottom of the tier list when we Samus being used more and more successfully than Ness, Luigi, Link, Puff and DK in actual tournaments?

Samus = Luigi = Link, IMO

Although I would consider Samus to be very successful against other higher characters, specially Ness and Jigglypuff.

I would place Samus as #10 in the tier list, and Falcon tied with Fox.

Is there a Samus in NA that placed as high as Nangoku's Ness or Isai's Link/Puff? I don't think that's an argument though. I don't think the tier list is based on actual tournament results.

We are slightly influenced by the fact that Nangoku and Kikoushi came here.

I could imagine the same thing occurring if Jousuke came here and played Samus

I think DK is better than Ness and Fox is better than Mario. Falcon should be interchangeable with Mario if anything because the MU is kinda evenish and they both have about even advantages and disadvantages. Mario just needs a grab for a kill really and Falcon has his U-air combos. Fox is a harder MU for Mario than Falcon and Fox struggles less against Kirby, so I think he should be above (but he's not THAT much better than Mario).

I also don't think there's one single character that can be considered the absolute worst, so we should group some characters together.

What do you think Fox has over Kirby that puts him above? I guess that's hard to answer, but I think Kirby wins overall because of his gimping power, huge hitboxes, guaranteed combos, and ridiculous shield pressure. They're really close, but I think Kirby slightly beats him.

I just say because fox has more versatility in his tools, and his potential is greater. kirby on the other hand does have some whack stuff. but fox can kinda wall out people with blasters on hyrule especially. kirby has more guaranteed stuff but in the tent and on platforms fox has more versatility in combos, putting fox higher IMO. but the more i think of it, kirby is just flat out easier, and requires generally less work so he is probably better. plus he has some of the easiest edgeguards and huge moves

thats no true at all. a few chars are stuck with more poor tools than fox, and his shine/blaster/aerial and ground combo game is much more variable, while still remaining consistent. maybe its also a lil little bias, but i feel like fox>kirby
