I just realized something: getting another Sonic stage is as likely as getting another Sonic rep. That means no City Escape

And can we please talk about something other than Pokemon? I'm getting sick and tired of seeing a Pokebate or more Poketalk almost every time I come here. Let's talk about something else... like Sonic.

There's a lot of great Kid Icarus items that could work great in Smash Bros.

I would love to see various weapons and weapon upgrades from Zelda and Metroid.

Seriously, a bomb bag item, and a bow and arrow with different types of arrow (regular, fire arrows that burn foes, ice that free foes, and light arrows that do massive damage), a ball and chain, a ALTTP hammer, an ice beam, a super screw attack (like in Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion), and a Dark World teleporter (where you got to the Dark World and eff people up in the real world like in ALTTP) would be awesome.

Also, the shoe from Super Mario Bros. 3. That shoe was my best friend as a kid!

Edit: Lucario's weight class is about where it should be. He could use a bit more weight in the next smash. He only weighs around 170 pounds. Mewtwo, on the other hand, weighs 270 pounds, despite weighing about as much as Peach in Melee! /fail

I read the torphy and it said he was light because he was using his psychic powers to float. But even with that said he is stupidly light.

I think it'd be really strange for a GODDESS to have to pull out an item to attack. Maybe we'll some some abilities based on the items, but not necessarily use the items themselves?

Well the Pokémon debate is a big question mark, because we know a 5th Generation Pokémon is as confirmed as Mario pretty much. We know Jiggz and Pikachu will probably return, and in all likelihood the Pokémon Trainer. Mewtwo and Lucario have pretty good chances at returning as well, and we've also got wild card Pokémon like Pichu, Plusle and Minun, Deoxys, and to a far stretching extent, a second Pokémon Trainer.

So pretty much, the debate is a big mess, and none of us know what to make of it, and people actually want a new Pokémon Trainer (why fix something that ain't broke? Sakurai never dumped the IC or G&W). But yeah, it's too much of a question mark to debate. So let's hop onto SONIC and METAL GEAR STAGES!!!!

I don't see smash not having a new Metal Gear or Sonic the Hedgehog stage. Sure, Shadow Moses Island and Green Hill Zone will probably return, but every franchise from Melee got a new stage in Brawl, including the Ice Climber franchise.

Seriously, the only thing you do in Ice Climber is climb a friggen mountain on red and blue blocks to no end, fight those ice creature things and polar bears, and chase birds with fruits and vegetables. The Brawl stage actually had the Balloon Fight fish. Game and Watch is just a handheld series before the NES.

With the rich history of Metal Gear and Sonic, Sakurai has plenty of choices. Seven currently released canon Metal Gear games don't have stages, and don't even start on Sonic. Emerald Hill Zone, that Casino place that rocked, Angel Island, anything from Sonic CD, City Escape, the awesome first area of the original Sonic Adventure... there's a lot to work with.

Agreed, although I don't quite like the direction they're taking as it doesn't seem all that faithful to the original games.

Personally I'd take either Medusa or Palutena just as long as we don't get Magnus. Although between the 2 of them you can probably tell who I perfer.

Jiigglypuff's sing needs to be useful, but not Meta Knight down B broken infinite frame useful. I think it should mostly only being useful late in matches (when characters have racked up a lot of damage; like somewhere around 120 to 150 damage percentage), and ACTUALLY put someone to sleep as a setup kill move. That would allow Jigglypuff to be able to kill easier, and would give it another useful move.

Think about it. Currently, Jigglypuff has one completely useless special (sing), one nearly useless special (her rollout), one situational kill move special (rest), and one super useful special (pound). Making sing (and pound) useful could make Jigglypuff a more consistent character.

Also, Peach's B could always be Toadsworth... or Waluigi.

Why do people want Waluigi and Daisy/Rosalina so bad? They shouldn't be in Smash, they aren't prominent enough, I'd rather have both Toad and Bowser Jr. then any of them, heck why not Paper Mario instead.

I don't think so. Shantae's a "half-genie" who protects a place called Scuttle Town from a pirate named Risky Boots.

The reasons I keep suggesting her are the following, and in no particular order:

1) She's an obscure character
2) She's female (which Smash does need)
3) She's more than capable of having her own moveset (though I could see her using fireballs like Mario)
4) While she may be 3rd party, Shantae has only appeared on Nintendo software.

Pit = Fox and Slippy(as in he's annoying when talking)

Sing should not have invincible frames. It should just work great in high damage situations as a setup move for a smash attack, knocking the opponent off the stage, or if the damage is really high on the foe, a rest kill.

Yeah that fish was totally stolen from Balloon Fight. If you got close to the ground or water, it would try to eat you.

Emerald Hill Zone is the first zone in Sonic 2. I'm not sure what Sonic stages will be in, but I got a feeling they'll be from Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic CD, Sonic Adventure, or Sonic Adventure 2.

Snake's codecs will probably be more detailed. I imagine for a few characters he may have more than one codec. I also imagine Grazni Grad from MGS3, The Tanker from MGS2, The Plant from MGS2, or anywhere from MGS4 would probably be considered, and could make great stages.

Mewtwo and Roy are the most highly demanded characters for smash that weren't in Brawl. Trust me, they probably like Lucario, too. And why can't we have both and a new Pokémon, plus a 5th Generation Pokémon rep=??? That way, everyone wins (except Generation 2 and 3 Pokémon fans like myself).

It would be nice if on top of that, a 2nd or 3rd Generation Pokémon snuck in with a solid move set and something to add to the franchise like every Pokémon character minus Pichu has added to smash. Although, that, IMO, still seems somewhat unlikely.
