Who was it that supported that RawkHawk guy from Paper Maroo? He seems like an interesting character I wouldn't mind him playable

Too much Mario representation. Realistically, we'll only get one. The roster won't be more than 50, probably even less than 45, and unnecessary characters WILL be cut to make room. Toon Link is at the top of the list with Lucario, Ike, and Lucas/Ness, because (1) he's the cloniest of the clones and (2) the other Zelda reps will be updated with toonish Skyward Sword models anyway.

It was a bad idea to put Dr. Mario and Young Link in Melee, it's gotten everyone into the habit of thinking that multiple variations on the same character are acceptable development decisions. I'll acknowledge them as bonus content for the few people who actually care, but as far as I'm concerned Melee only had 19 characters + fluff.

It was Barbasol, and yeah, he created a good Rawk Hawk moveset, he would be the perfect addition if Paper Mario were to ever have more reps, unfortunetly I doubt it and is very unlikely to happen, I'm even doubtful about P.Mario himself so..

But some music from the series would be nice, it's a shame that not even one track from TTYD didn't show up in Brawl.

1. Ness or Lucas are not getting cut :laugh:

2. You do realize Mario is the biggest VG franchise, right? 1 or 2 more Mario reps wouldn't hurt at all.

3. Ike isn't getting cut.

4. Toon Link is NOT getting cut. Period.

5. Sakurai had more than one reason for putting in Young Link, my friend...

6. There won't be less than 45 nor will there be any cuts, I bet you. 48-53 characters seems reasonable.

7. Lucario isn't getting cut, either.

8. There's only one other "clony" clone in Brawl (Ganondorf).

I wonder if this guy is like, Berserker's alter ego that like, only comes out when mario reps are the topic of discussion.

Okay, Lucario might get replaced by either Zoroark/Victini as the flavor of the month pic, also Mewtwo is more likely due to Japan.

As much as I love Lucario he has a 50% chance of getting cut for either Zoroark/Victini

Toon Link will stay we'll probably hey another Toon Link game for the 3DS

Well, you looked silly with some of them.

A few Event Match ideas I had:

Nightmare: "Souls and Auras"

The Soul Edge senses a large amount of Holy energy near. Lucario's aura may not be the Soul Calibur, but it still packs a strong punch, and a heavy dose of Justice. Can you defeat Lucario despite his aura gradually boosting his power?

Objective: KO Lucario 3 times (Lucario's Strength and speed gradually increase)

Majora: "Return to the Twilight realm"

The evil mask has once again been banished to the land of complete darkness. Can you defeat your enemies and return to Termina with such low lighting?

Objective: Defeat the blackened and muted Donkey Kong, Sheik, and Midna in a "Laturn lit" setting. (Note: defeating Midna last will cause her to giggle and immediately take you to the *A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING* screen.

Exactly. They've gone sour, we need fresh meat. While I'm all for having a roster as large as possible, the fact is that fad characters don't have high survivability and there's no point in keeping around dead weight. Jigglypuff and Yoshi survived. The forbidden seven didn't. And if I had to make a list of character that could (mind you, COULD, not WILL or SHOULD) be shafted in favor of newcomers:

Toon Link replaced by Tingle
Falco replaced by Krystal
Lucario replaced by Victini (or Zoroark, or maybe even Mewtwo if there is a Smash god)
Ike replaced by other FE Lord
Ness or Lucas replaced by Masked Man

Everyone else I consider to be safe, as overall brawl's roster had a much higher composition of uniqueness and iconicity than Melee. But there's a bit of fat that the developers might choose to trim, and if it gets me some new and interesting movesets, I'm fine with that.

Genesect would be nice for Smash, but we all know he's unlikely. Probably impossible since he isn't likely to get a movie next year. The only Pokemon not revealed to the public that may have a real shot of getting in is Meloetta (Keldeo will never be supported seriously to be realistic) and if Meloetta doesn't get a movie next year, it will be between Zoroark and Victini.

@Phostopheles: I fail to see how Lucario, Ike, or Ness is "unnecessary". Lucario may very well face the axe in SSB4, but he definitely doesn't need to go. Axing Ike and/or Ness would be outrageous. There are no cuts we can say are really safe; unlike in Melee where people generally agreed that Pichu and Dr. Mario needed to go.

Also, I don't think 45-50 slots is that unreasonable.

May I say how funny I think it is that a character from a yet-to-be-released game has THAT much support?

Yes, I'm talking about Ghirahim.
No, I'm no hating him, I just don't think some trailers and gameplay videos are enough to think he's THAT awesome.

I agree with this, Tingle is popular with his own series anyway, it would make sense to do so, if this were to happen, that way Ghirahim would be in as well. :awesome:
