I would be happy to see Dixie Kong in even if she shared Diddy Kong's specials and Final Smash.

I couldn't imagine Dixie Kong without hurling items with her hair or twirling in the air forever by spinning her hair like a helicopter. It's just not the same, and it is hard to imagine Dixie Kong as a clone in Smash. Quite frankly, I am not sure where I would stand on Dixie Kong being a clone, or even a semi-clone of Diddy Kong.

Plus, Dixie Kong's moveset practically writes itself in Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3. If you have played both of those games, you can imagine her moveset.

Bowser Jr. has a potential to become a totally unique character,he really do not need to become a clone or a semi-clone.

I don't think anyone is denying that he can be a unique character, but rather for the possibility that he has a chance of being a clone based off the newer Mario games.

Regardless, I do support the inclusion of both Toad and Jr. (who are arguably the last two important characters in the main Super Mario series). Getting these two in by SSB4 would make speculating for SSB5 a lot easier.

Dixie Kong's a-moves and throws would definitely be completely unique. However, there is the possibility that her special moves and Final Smash would come from Diddy Kong since there is not much material from the DKC games to base original specials for her on. Basically, if Dixie Kong were a clone, she would be like Wolf or Lucas.

She could have just about anything for B. How about a Melon Toss?

Pretty much this. Our attachment to characters (because of their appearances outside of smash) is proof that we love them more than characters in other fighting games. Unlike other fighting game characters, all smash bros playable character (minus Roy) have been playable in their own respective series beforehand (and we love [most of] those series).

No, the red one was only from the Super Metroid box art. Ridley's NES sprite was purple.

I think that if Dixie Kong is paired with Kiddy Kong when she is confirmed, it would really take many long-time Donkey Kong Country fans by surprise. A popular character plus an obscure character to boot? How can you go wrong with that?

Precisely. I really want Sakurai to surprise us with some unexpected but good characters. He did it with Zero Suit Samus, Snake, Pokemon Trainer, Olimar, and R.O.B. I want to experience the joy of being surprised in a good way in Smash 4 when they are confirmed on the Smash 4 Dojo. I am personally hoping Sakurai would pull it off with:

- Captain N, the first fourth-party and America-only character in Smash (but at least he's partially owned by Nintendo so I am willing to make him the sole exception to the "no anime" rule)
- Commanding Officer, Advance Wars finally gets a character, where Andy stays in the background like Pokemon Trainer and orders a "Ice Climbers" team of infantry soldiers to fight (bonus points if they were inspired by Contra )
- Dixie Kong teaming up with Kiddy Kong
- Duck Hunt Dog finally getting in Smash (I have been supporting him since 2002)
- King Hippo being confirmed after Little Mac is confirmed
- Masked Link with Deku Link, Goron Link, and Zora Link transformations
- Meowth finally getting in Smash, or better yet, teaming up with Arbok and Weezing
- Tingle being confirmed
- Toad finally getting in Smash and he is actually not boring contrary to popular belief

The only possible reason for Peach to change that move is because of that, I would think. We've had it two times now, and it just doesn't seem right to change it. Honestly, if Toad gets in, I think the best move is probably change the Toad into Toadsworth or something.

Though, a Super Princess Peach move replacement might be better, I just don't know about changing a character that has been established so far. Only Ganondorf in my mind should be altered further, but even some semblance of what he used to be wouldn't be too bad.

Wait, maybe it is analogous to R.O.B. We thought R.O.B. wasn't in Brawl because of generic R.O.B.'s in the Subspace Emissary and we were surprised when R.O.B. was confirmed. Either way, Toad's inclusion in Smash would surprise me and I would be over the moon.

John: Hate to nitpick at your wonderful Ridley post, but you forgot the blue chibi Ridley (Metroid 1 Japan art), the blue freak of nature Ridley (Metroid 1 USA art), and the black recolor of the red recolor (Super Metroid).

EDIT: Strangely, even though it isn't likely to happen, I seem to have warmed up to the idea of King Hippo coming in the same Smash as Little Mac.
I mean, I've always thought King Hippo was cool, and MAYBE see him in Smash 5, but if he's in Smash 4, I wouldn't mind now.

And to think of it, I actually wouldn't mind now if the Universe "leak" was actually true (even though it isn't). Sure it has Krystal, but then again, I can just treat her as my personal training dummy. And as long as I pretend Command never existed, it isn't too bad.

I could see that if SSB4 had a Dojo, and Peach's page didn't show her using her standard B move, it would cause some people to speculate and even assume that Toad was now a playable character.
People jumped to ridiculous conclusions like that during Brawl speculation, and it wouldn't surprise me if something like that happened again.


The only thing I didn't like about the universe leak was lack of Isaac, but if that turned out to be the final roster (which I strongly doubt) I would actually be fine with it.

Yeah I remember people saying all kinds of ridiculous stuff like that.

I also remember people who thought that because Meta-Knight and Snake didn't get character pages on the Dojo for a while they were demoted to ATs.

And when Dr. Wright was first revealed as an AT a large number of people told me he was playable. (probably because he was one of the first ATs revealed. Still makes no sense though).

Makes me wonder just how misconstrued some of the SSB4 info will get.

I would like Professor E. Gadd as an Assist Trophy where he uses the vacuum cleaner. Also, King Boo would work nicely as either a stage element in "Luigi's Mansion 2" or as a new Mario boss in the Adventure Mode.

I'd love to see a Pushmo stage, I was thinking about one since the game came out.

I'm pretty sure Wuhu Island (which will inevitably be a stage) would probably represent Pilotwings Resort.

I wouldn't have predicted a Swapnote stage, but after Pictochat, who knows. It would be cool though.

And I hope that there is a Duck Hunt stage no matter what kind of representation DHD gets.

And a Meowth Party if by some miracle he is playable (even I nearly have lost all hope about that).

I love pushmo(though,i'm stuck for the moment)A stage would be perfect.Where,on a big puzzle,you can't fall down(cuz of ground)random blox(i will say "blox"because of the european name "pullblox")would come out of the puzzle,you may be traped for a short time,if a blox "splash" you,you get knocked,but no damage.
And in a boss fight or assist trophies would work fine too for luigi's mansion.

Captain N got the NES controller. He uses it to pause time, literally (potential Final Smash) It would be like having Viewtiful Joe. He uses the NES Zapper to shoot beams (neutral B). He uses the A button to jump really high (up B) and B button to run fast (Side B). The buttons are like playing Super Mario Bros.
