I say the same thing for potential Mario newcomers
True but I feel like with Kirby you have Dedede, Kirby and Meta Knight in each game then it's usually a mix of different characters. Mario at least is able to have a much bigger recurring cast like with Bowser Jr or Waluigi.

Though if you count spinoffs I guess that you have a lot of Mario characters already.

Waluigi is similiar to Wario in both appearance and personality. He is also similiar in appearance to not only Wario, but Luigi and Mario as well. He has the Hat, The mustache, the overalls etc. I don't think we need 4 similiar looking Mario characters it doesn't seem necessary, even if they have different movesets. Bowser JR could be alright I guess but besides him there aren't any other good Mario characters that aren't one time appearance characters like Geno.

I was going to say Paper Mario, but then you shot down Waluigi.

Why does it matter if they look the same? They all have different movesets as you said and he could represent the Wario series instead of the Mario series. Saying we shouldn't have them because they look similar is like saying we can't have Kirby and Meta Knight because they look similar, or Marth and Ike

I think Paper Mario is a better choice for representing rpgs than Geno...him or Fawful, they're more modern. But Geno could be a good Square Enix character if they don't want Cloud or Chrono

Given that at least Yoshi and Wario are considered Mario characters that also represent their own subseries (Donkey Kong was in Melee, but at the same time, Melee labeled him as the original Donkey Kong while Brawl doesn't), I'd honestly not be surprised if we didn't get a new Mario character. Especially if the Donkey Kong series is counted like Yoshi and Wario, in which, we'd probably get Dixie and/or K. Rool as the "Mario" Newcomer(s).

So Paper Mario. Since Fawful exploded and all. :awesome:

The only character at this point that COULD seperate from the Mario series is Paper Mario, however, if Dr. Mario didn't, why would Paper Mario?
Especially when you factor that Paper Mario trophies were in the Mario section.

I was kinda getting at how Snake, a character who has barely made any appearences on a Nintendo system vs Belmont. But whatever.
Kojima wanted Snake in, and Snake got in. I would guess that causes more developers to go "Hey, maybe we could get one of our characters in the game". Brawl opened the bottle and now anything can happen. Ofc now new Smash Bros challengers have risen which may affect the interest.

Personally I don't like seeing Snake in Brawl because he has so little to do with Nintendo. When people think of MG(S) they think of Playstation, if anything (sure some still go on about MSX).

Because I don't want 4 characters who look almost the same running across the screen.

Also, I think its really stupid that Wario represents his own series supposedly. He's from the Mario series and so is Waluigi and Yoshi.

And I wouldn't mind 2 similiar looking characters like you mentioned, but 4?! thats kind of a lot. And doesn't provide any uniqueness.

But Wario and Yoshi got popular in their own games...

Does anyone else think Sakurai will lift the no anime rule for Smash 4? He lifted the no third party rule in Brawl so I don't think it's far off

Who cares, they are both part of the Mario series and DEBUTED in the MArio series as well.

Also, I didn't know there was a no anime rule that's kind of interesting...

The rule is only characters that debuted in video games. Characters that debuted in the anime will never get in.

It's doesn't matter if Fawful is dead...Bowser dies every other Mario game lol
Not necessarily. Sunshine, Galaxy, and NSMBWii show he never TRULY does, even when, in Galaxy's case, he thrown INTO A STAR. The only game he ever TRULY died was NSMBDS, where he turned into Dry Bowser, and was then brought back to life by Bowser Jr. So he never REALLY dies.

Fawful blew himself up. He died. The end. Game Over.

If you want more free movement, then they could add more all range mode levels where you still get to be in your arwing and go in all directions. Also, online should definitely be added, if you don't want to see it then just don't play it. A good online will help the game to last longer at least, especially with the Wii U's online system.
All-Range isn't true free range movement. It's still auto-movement.

It does not count to me. I need to be able to STOP freely. That's free movement. That's what I want. That either means I can stop or more on-foot segments. That's why I loved Assault more than 64.

Of course online is good. Never said it wasn't.

Wario has two subseries that have nothing to do with Mario.
He deserves being seperated more than Yoshi, who still has Mario on his back.

And really, how do Wario and Waluigi look like Mario and Luigi? Mario and Luigi look like each other, Wario and Waluigi look like each other.
But even then, that's where the similarities end. (except for Mario and Luigi)
Whereas Mario and Luigi have near the same appearance save for color, Wario and Waluigi are stark opposites. One has short legs and is obese, the other has long legs and is very skinny.

And don't provide any uniqueness? Do me a favor; play as Mario in Brawl. Then play as Wario. Are the similar at all? No.
Now, factor in that Waluigi has many powers and obscene abilities at his disposal (Whirl-uigi, Wall-uigi, midair swimming, shadow teleporting, various gadgets such as the four appendage backpack from Sports Mix), and the fact that he'd likely be using a tennis racket as a main weapon not unlike Link with his sword or Dedede with his mallet, and you got a character that manages to differenciate himself from the other three "plumbers".

And even then, Wario is wearing a completely different outfit from the other 3 (biker), so how does he even look "near the same"? I mean, the only thing he has similar to Mario by default in Brawl is his name.

Yeah but there was a rule that only Nintendo characters could get in then Snake and Sonic got in...
Well that was obvious from the get go. Sakurai had not even considered 3rd party until his buddy asked if his character could get in.

After Snake was announced Sakurai said that characters that have debuted in video games and appeared on a Nintendo system were allowed in.

There was never any rule saying no 3rd parties it was just the norm, it probably would have happened in Melee if given enough time.

No Goku, no Naruto, and as much as I love him, no Chopper. There is no hope for those characters, they already have their own Smash Bros.

There was never an official rule about that.
In fact, Snake could've been in Melee, had Kojima approached Sakurai early enough.

[glow]Well SF games never have controls for stopping your arwing entirely. It was meant to be on- rails so that's why you keep moving. Also, i would love on foot for the Wii U, especially for multiplayer and online.[/glow]

@Lucid: You COULD go play Super Smash Flash 2. It has Goku, Ichigo, and Naruto in it.

Waluigi should have INCREDIBLE jump height if he makes it in.

Why do you think it annoys me? I don't mind using a "Go" button at all.

I'm always a fan of complete control. As I said, I have no problems with some on-rail segments. Look at Lego Star Wars. Perfect example of what I like.

Also, lol at Waluigi being similar to Wario. Waluigi was unique from the start, just like Wario was.

Is he saying again that Wario and Waluigi have the same personality?

Need I bump up an old post that says otherwise.

Wario: Emphasis on greed. Is willing to do the right thing IF it pays out in the end. The only times Wario resorts to cheating is if he's partnered with Waluigi.

Waluigi: Hateful, spiteful, never willing to do the right thing. Always tries to cheat his way into victory, which typically fails. (Like **** Dastardly, he could actually succeed if he plays by the rules, but his nature prevents him from doing so).

EDIT: It censors the short name for Richard? Seriously?

Oh, and Luigi is just a slightly taller version of Mario with a similar moveset.

I play it.

Ness and Yoshi are the best characters.
:troll:
My best characters are Kirby, Tails, and Black Mage.

@Lucid: Why are the Smash controls bad? You do know that you can change them right? And I think Light is a rare Assist Trophy.

Wario luigi mario waluigi, they all look alike very much. Overalls, mustache, the Hat, the one letter symbol on their hat, even their names. etc. Sure, with Wario and Waluigi, ones fat and ones skinny, but they still wear basically the same clothes and have very similiar features. Wario has a biker outfit but that's it.

And the only uniqueness they have apart from each other is their movesets which I mentioned earlier.

No need for an attitude buddy, I just think with his status as a third party might set him apart is all. You could be right.
