And to whoever was worried about me jumping in over the Isaac/Matthew discussion, why?
I really don't care for either, nor Golden Sun as a while. I only feel that Camelot would try to push for Matthew being that they are marketing Dark Dawn as the start of the "main" series. So shame on you for accusing me of giving a big f***.

I didn't say it. Still, I got a feeling with the reception Dark Dawn received compared to the reception the 1st 2 games received, I think that Isaac will be the main character of the next Golden Sun game. I mean, why would Camelot keep the previous fan favorite/main character in the series than to make him playable (again) eventually=???

The minor stuff you mentioned that was bad about Melee is not the equivalent of tripping in Brawl because it doesn't actually worsen the competitive gameplay. Clones aren't that bad, and Melee has a good amount of character variances. Just not as much as Brawl cause obviously they want to add more content to sequels and the best way to do that is to add more characters. Are you going to say Brawl doesn't have good character variance when Sm4sh comes out and has more characters than Brawl?

To be fair, Isaac has only been the main character for one game but has been in all three (or at least how I remember).
So for all we know, the next main character could be yet another new character while Isaac still appears with his golden beard at some point.

But if I was able to choose just one epic bearded Newcomer, it'd be Flint Norris.

Totally should've been in Brawl instead of Lucas.

Regardless, Isaac is a key character in the 2nd Golden Sun. And quite frankly, Flint's beard pales in comparison to Isaac's. Plus Isaac got DEM EARTH POWERS!

It's not more competitive, it just has a bigger community... barely. Melee is 10 years old, Brawl is 4, Melee is 6 years older and is almost as big as the Brawl community and hasn't showed any signs of stopping its growth. And while the Brawl community isn't showing signs of stopping either, its still impressive to see how far Melee has come. Also, there was a thread where the topic was how much longer would the Brawl community last? Pretty much no one thinks it will last as long as Melee.


[glow]My point from the beginning was that a majority of Smashers would prefer Melee over Brawl if they fully understood each game. Not everyone, just most people Melee has More options, combos,and mindgames then brawl.[/glow]

The one thing I can safely say I like about Melee more are stages. Specifically Brinstar Depths, Fountain of Dreams, Fourside, and Great Bay.

Really? I thought Brawl really improved with stages. I liked the changes they underwent and the larger selection of music made some levels feel fresh to me after years of playing--mainly because I adjusted the music settings after I got bored with what I often heard.

Favorites in Melee:
Kongo Jungle, Onett, Pokemon Stadium, Big Blue, Great Bay, Fountain of Dreams, Mute City and Final Destination.

Favorites in Brawl:
Delfino Plaza, Battlefield, Smashville, WarioWare, Yoshi's Island, Castle Siege, Bridge of Eldin, Halberd, Pirate Ship, Lylat Cruise, Green Hill Zone, Shadow Moses, Mario Circuit, Port Town Aero Dive, Distant Planet, Luigi's Mansion and Final Destination

To each their own I guess.

Ah, but Flint's beard is his source of power. He keeps it from growing out to prevent him from entering Norris Mode.
And he don't need no Earth Powers nor PSI Power.
All he needs is to Strengthen Up, Toughen Up, and follow through with a Power Smash to end it all.
And if that isn't enough, he grows his beard out instantaneous to enter Norris Mode and fawk **** up!

Isaac's beard isn't longer because it makes him even stronger. If Isaac was more powerful when Matthew was conceived, he would have murdered Jenna!

Plus again, he controls the ground better than Flin does...

It's the same deal, but Flint had to hold back to make TWINS.

Never mind that Claus has a sword and arm cannon, and Porky uses a bed mech, they'd be boring because they wouldn't use PSI Powers, which two characters already do.
(Yes, I'm aware that Claus has PSI Powers, but I don't see him using them.)

Speaking of which, Kumatora would be a terrible character choice for Smash, and here is why: She curses like a sailor! I mean it. Snake curses occasionally, but it's never as bad or as frequent as Kumatora. She sounds like a juvenile delinquent.

...Brawl has a ton more options. Mindgames are much more important in Brawl.
