Star: Yes, yes! (New Super Mario Bros Mii? I think ya meant Wii? )

But I really agree. These really should be the gamexs where Toad's moves should be based from.
Sorry, clairvoyant slip there. Yes I mean Wii. Just trying to show Toad can be fleshed out more than people give him credit for. Plus the issue of boring characters is extremely subjective anyways. :p

He's talking THE Toad, not generic species of Toads.

So to say "he" was playable in that game is false.
While Toads were playable, Toad/Kinopio was not.
My goodness not this again. In a game as nonsensical as Super Smash Bros I don't think it really matters to differentiate between an individual or character. Heck half of the Pokémon are species bar Mewtwo.

The Yoshi wasn't playable in Yoshi's Island nor Yoshi's Story either. The Yoshi was born at the end of Yoshi's Island DS.

Your point? I wasn't arguing that Toad can't have moves based around NSMBW.
I'm just saying that Toad wasn't playable, to which you cannot prove false.

@ Metal
There are this many Toads. :p
I am guessing that Star Fox is not going to be adding to the roster this time around. More effort should be put into further distinguishing Wolf's specials from the cast. And (maybe) changing a couple more of Falco's moves (although it makes sense that Fox and Falco would be trained similarly in combat).
All Wolf and Falco "need" are new B attacks, Falco's down B and Wolf's forward B aside (mostly). Other than that they are pretty much "their own" characters.
Finally. Now the Mega Man Crybabies can stop complaining and b****ing about how Capcom "hates" Mega Man.
Capcom hates on their fans' wallets on a weekly basis! Seriously, Resident Evil 5 was over a $100 investment, and it didn't even compare to Resident Evil 4.
People don't care unless it is Classic Mega Man or Mega Man X or even Mega Man Volnutt.
I love X and Classic, but Volnutt sucks balls. Volnutt needs to die. Plus really, if any Mega Man is in anything, it should always be classic. He was the first, last, and best IMO.

You're thinking too hard. Kinopio is just Toad in Japanese btw.

Have you never played the game?

I refuse to call RE5 a "Resident Evil" game

And I think the only thing Falco really needs now is his Arwing as a Final Smash. Or at least anyhing other than a Landmaster, lol

Yoshi in Story... wait. What?!

Seriously?!

So it's the Elder Yoshi again /From Paper Mario, thanks so much SMBZ/ behind Yoshi's Story and Islands?

BW2 news just came out.
Looks like Lucario is going to be used to help promote Black 2. That was unexpected.

EDIT: Nevermind, Zoroark is going to be promoted with White 2. Pretty cool if you ask me.
I wouldn't be surprised if Lucario was used to promote B&W2. The same goes with Mewtwo. Still, Zoroark and Lucario both promoting B&W2 makes more sense!

It's pretty awesome that the region, Unova, can be frozen over. However, that was already done with Platinum to the previous region. :urg: I hope it can get a heat wave (thus making water disappear), increased flooding, etc, too. That would be delicious! :lick:
In regards to an actual Smash 4, I still think the contenders are Zoroark, Victini, and Genesect. I also think N is a possible dark horse if he is as storyline prominent to Black/White 2 as he was to Black/White.
N don't stand a chance... except as a boss, NPC, or some stage hazard person like what happened with Spear Pillar and those Pokémon. :troll:
I just don't like they're trying to super-market the two Furries instead of more interesting characters. 4th Gen has a lot MORE than just Lucario. He got his spotlight. How about one of Pokemon like Tangela? Munchlax? Etc.

Zoroark, meh. He's cool in battle, but not the best ever. I'd rather a newer unreleased Pokemon got the spotlight. As long as Genesect is still regularly catchable, I guess it's fine.
Lucario was the runaway best Pokémon of Gen IV IMO. Most of said Pokémon were ugly and unmemorable IMO. Gen V had the best Pokémon since Gen III and maybe Gen II IMO.

No, I'm pretty sure the race is still "Toad" or "Mushroom Retainer". And that THE Toad is "Kinopio".
Nooooo, I've had this discussion in the past, and Kinopio is not any special Toad.

And, you're thinking too hard.

Agreed with Golden, btw. I really think the "Toad"-race should really been called as "Mushroom Retainers" all these years. Especially in Paper Mario-series for the residents of Toad Town... now it has generisized Toad too much. I still think the Toad in all the spinoffs is "The" Toad / Kinopio

THE Toad wasn't.
But other Toads were.

Shortie claims that I'm thinking too much, but it is he that is thinking too little.

EDIT: The Toad species are Kinos.

@Oasis: No one is using that as an argument against Toad in Smash.

Is anyone actually using that as an argument against Toad being in Smash.

Does anyone want to be dumb.

I have. Tell me where the red spot blue vest Toad (otherwise known as Kinopio) is playable.

I see a blue spot blue vest Toad and yellow spot yellow vest Toad, but those are just regular Toads.
So you see Toad is playable. Good! Let's move on!

Shortie claims that I'm thinking too much, but it is he that is thinking too little.
Me, Star and Oasis think you're being silly. That says something.

Why does this even matter? Seriously, despite any attempt to try and legitimize this discussion as something rational is fooling themselves.

Oy. As Iblix would say, we out.

Same. The only good thing those other guys are for is costumes.

But they're not even Toad himself.

Hell, there's no specific Yoshi(except perhaps during Yoshi's Island and Super Mario 64).

Toad/Kinopio is in a lot of games. Not sure of Super Mario Bros. 1, mind you. But atleast it's the correctly-colored Toad.

I refuse to buy a Resident Evil game after that disaster. Seriously, your partner couldn't shoot to save her life.

And that game was totally racist. They have the one main character who is black wearing tribal outfits, and you face tribal voodoo people. Why didn't that happen in Resident Evil 4=??? Some parts of Spain still have some "tribal" remnants.
And I think the only thing Falco really needs now is his Arwing as a Final Smash. Or at least anyhing other than a Landmaster, lol
Some Arwing data is on the Brawl disc. Falco was originally suppose to pilot one for his Final Smash. Wolf was also most likely going to use a Wolfen, although that I think that hasn't been unlocked on the disc like Falco and an Arwing have been. However, if you want to be totally sure, go look that up. :shades:
So I guess nobody looked at my alternate outfit post....
I didn't like the alternate character costumes. Diddy becoming DK Jr., Mario becoming Dr. Mario (that seems like a slap in the face of Doc fans), and Donkey Kong becoming Funky Kong and that one boss Kong guy from Jungle Beat. However, that was my only complaint. I personally like the idea of Smash characters having their Mario Strikers outfits. :bee:

All around, it had some good alternate outfits. ;)
Only in this thread would we ever seriously argue whether Toad was really playable in NSMB Wii

I want one that either plays like Zelda II or the original Zelda games. No special controls. Just classic original gameplay.

The Minish Cap did this well.
You know... I kinda would like a new side-scrolling Zelda game like Zelda II but redone in Paper Mario style... with turn-based battles and timed attacks and experience point system and paper graphics... and featuring partners like a Deku, a Goron, a Zora, a Skull Kid, a Gerudo, a Sheikah, a Kokiri, and a Tingle (yes, it is a generic species according to Tingle's Rupeeland)... and featuring classic Zelda enemies redone in paper style and iconic Zelda locations redone in paper style.

Toad/Kinopio is not playable.

Toads/Kinos are.

There is a ****ing difference.

It's like saying Kamek is playable if two generic Magikoopas are playable of differing color are playable.

*sigh*

Do you know what Magikoopa is called in Japanese? "Kamek".
*sigh*
Do you know there is ONE particular "Kamek" that is known as Kamek outside of Japan? And that "Kamek" is Bowser's caretaker? And a main villain in the Yoshi series? And that other "Kameks" are just Magikoopas?

Kamek is essentially a reverse Toad, in terms of naming.

@Shorts, if he's willing to think.

EDIT: "While Toad is actually an individual, there is also in an entire species of the same name based on him named as the toads or Mushroom People (much like Yoshi and Birdo), but actually in Japanese, the original species name was only Kino (キノ?), which means Toad (Kinopio) is a member of the toads (kinos)."

Game. Set. Match.

Eh. I don't think the Paper part is needed.

I like Zelda staying as a non-turned based games with rpg elements at best.

Although a full rpg may not be a bad thing, but I don't want it to essentially be a clone of the Paper Mario series.
