Wouldn't it hurt to sit on a fence. They have those spike things on the top of them

I didnt know Toad had super human strength...
It's in Super Mario Bros. 2. He is super fast and has super strength. However (in the game) Toad can't jump worth a crap (like a true white man). :awesome:
I support both. Toad, Dixie Kong (with or without Kiddy Kong), and King K. Rool are the only Marioverse characters I want the most.
Something tells me Kiddy Kong will be like the Wolf Link to Midna pre-Brawl (in this case, Dixie Kong), but to a much lesser extent.
I also have a hunch that if Nintendo's next major IP has a character that could be made playable in Smash Bros., that character could very well end up being playable in Smash 4 (though he/she/it would probably the be the last decided non-clone newcomer to the roster).
If Shigeru Miyamoto actually makes and finishes said game of his new IP then we might actually get the main character from it in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS... although I think Smash 6 (which technically would be the next smash bros game) would be said character's 1st playable smash bros appearance, similar to how Captain Olimar 1st appeared in Brawl.
One of these days you'll realize it's okay to put stock in an idea and accept that you might be completely wrong. No one's gonna give you that degree of respect you're obsessed with if you live on the fence and parrot the obvious.
That's why I made my pre-Brawl prediction roster.

Sure, it had 45 characters, and missed two characters (the Pokémon Trainer and ROB; I accidentally deleted the part with Captain Olimar), and it had many characters that didn't make it onto the playable roster (King K. Rool, Midna, Ridley, Krystal, Mewtwo, Samurai Goroh, Roy, the Mach Rider, the Balloon Fighter, Geno, Mega Man, etc)., but I was still way more right about the roster than all the other idiots with a roster video on youtube!

I still need to do one of those prediction videos for Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS... once I'm either on Spring Break or this semester is finished!

Edit: OaSiS is not Strong enough to Sit on SpikeS!

Edit 2: The Wii U/3DS Smash Bros games should have the real ending of Mass Effect 3!

You know, I think Kid Icarus should have the trio of Pit, palutena, and Medusa.

It's a great game and seems like one that's got a great future with Nintendo.

A wii-U game probably next.

Nah, I think Pit alone is fine, although he needs to not be a terrible character to play as (or be a total spammy little boi). Paletuna can join the fray too I guess. I would not be surprised if Paletuna was playable. Though if I had to bet, I would I bet against Paletuna being playable.

They keep adding more fire emblem swordsmen and they are all basically the same thing, so the characters in Kid Icarus deserve at least 1 additional character

Marth and Ike are COMPLETELY different in almost every way, the only thing they share in common is a lack of projectile. Roy was a copy so he was taken out, leaving only two unique FE Swordsman, no copies.

I actually think Ephraim or Hector would be an interesting new FE character, one is a lance user and the other an axe user, it would be interesting to see different classes appear in the next Smash, if it must be a Swordsman than I have my money on Krom.

I don't care how different they play. Their characterization, their style. It's all basically the same thing. I find it very bland.

Palutena and Medusa are very different and colorful characters full of personality.

The characterization and style seem similar and bland because they're from the same series.
Lucas and Ness look the same, Fox and Falco look the same, Mario and Luigi look the same, hell at least Marth and Ike speak separate languages, they've got more things that set them apart than most of the other characters from their respective universes.

But, I'm an FE fanboy so I can't really debate this point with you, everyone's entitled to their individual opinion after all.

@ Psycho (mostly aimed at your first post)
Meah, the difference is that they are actually hugely important to the plot.
Medusa is only the main villain of the 1st 1/3rd of Uprising, where it is revealed Hades is the main villain

Also, we're not representing anything with playable characters except the playable characters. The reason why the Fire Emblem characters thus far are so interesting is because they are the main characters of their games. Marth is the main Lord in Fire Emblem 1 and 3 (and their remakes, 11 and 12), Roy is the main Lord in Fire Emblem 6 and the central character, and Ike is the main character of Fire Emblem 9 and of the 2nd half of Fire Emblem 10. Which thus makes Fire Emblem fans automatically attached to them moreso then say... Medusa. :p

Also, Ike's, Roy's, and Marth's games take place in separate universes, they all use different weapons, and their fighting styles are all completely unlike each other's fighting style.

Shut up Psycho

How is being the main Pokemon in the upcoming Pikachu short not an official reveal?

It was a minor reveal, but it was a reveal, nonetheless.

EDIT: Why do people keep calling Mr. Game & Watch a Retro character? Game & Watch Gallery 1-3 were out before Melee, which made Mr. Game & Watch out of the Retro revival category.
Is it simply because he existed before Mario?
Historical importance

You could also say they're disposable characters.
Well their games are pretty epic... if you like those strategy RPGs like I do! :awesome:

Plus they are all great characters in their games, and the series has some great themes, epic battles, and can be pretty challenging.

Also, the different universes show. Marth is a traditional soft-spoken yet deadly Japanese swordsman. Ike is a Nordic viking-esk built superboy man child who becomes a superman's superman man of manly men in Fire Emblem 10. Roy seems kinda like a mix between the two, but has some bad acid-leaking moves. ;)

Uh oh, a little Johnie told me the Ancient Greeks renewed the copyright on Medusa. Guess she's out. Nevermind that Pit and Palutena are Cupid and Athena.

Disney friggin' copyrighted the name "Pluto"

That's just ridiculous.

Pokemon was forced to change a character's name from Pluto to Charon because of Disney.

How can you copyright that sort of thing?

By the time Smash 4 is released, the first installment for Miyamoto's/EAD's new series will be out. Also, despite Roy being unknown, he ended up being one of the most popular newcomers for Melee (even Sakurai anticipated this, saying on Roy's update that despite his game not being out yet and everyone being unfamiliar with the character that lots of players would fall in love with his "charm"). I am sure if Miyamoto's new character was in a similar position (in that the character's game would not be released until after Smash 4) that Sakurai would make sure the character was made in a way that would be appealing to most Smash Bros. fans.
See, this is why I really think Roy is gonna make his return in Smash 4. A lot of people might argue that Roy wasn't really planned for Brawl like Mewtwo was or whatever and that him being a part of the Forbidden Seven "doesn't really mean anything". But with that bolded part in mind, why would he feel that way only to intentionally cut the character from its immediate sequel? That part just does not make sense to me, so that's why I'm reasonably certain Roy was seriously planned at one point in Brawl but was cut due to time constraints/unfortunate circumstances (not that I didn't believe it before, I just believe it even more so than I did then).

For those who argue that Chrome is a major threat to Roy, for one, I'd argue the opposite. Roy was popular in Melee and we know that he's a highly requested character for Smash 4 in Japan. There's also been backlash against his cut in Brawl, so with that along with all of the other goodwill under his belt, that's a hell of a lot for Krom to stand up against. A highly requested character who's already been playable in a Smash game before vs basically, the new guy. And, no, he's not going to get in solely because he's "new". Don't buy into the relevancy BS of this thread. Chrome has to build his support/goodwill from the ground up before he can even be considered for Smash 4, in my honest opinion. Not saying that such a thing CAN'T happen, of course, just saying it's not going to be a cakewalk for him, I'd bet. FE13 isn't even out yet, so it could go either way for him, at this point.

ALSO, even if Chrome were to turn out to be this mega popular candidate for Smash 4 like Ike was, like I said before, why not add them both? They're both great choices for distinct reasons. After all, we were presumably going to have 3 FE reps in Brawl, anyway, and we already had 2 in Melee, so I highly doubt Sakurai would have any problem with having 4 FE reps in a Smash game, especially since those characters are among the most used and popular in the Smash series. FE not big enough sales and popularity-wise to have 4 reps, you say? Lol GTFO, if Star Fox can have 3 characters (2 of which are semi-clones or even were a full clone of Fox), then what's the problem with having 4 FE reps? Sales and popularity are nice and all, but there are much better reasons to put a character in Smash than just those.

This is just my take on it

I call it a conspiracy. Walt Disney was racist. No really, Walt Disney loved Hitler's was a hardcore anti-Semite. Just look up some of the Disney cartoons back from the 30's and 40's. The same goes (to a lesser extent) with Dr. Seuss. Seriously-why the heck do we celebrate all the artists who were blatantly racist=??? :urg: *stares down Tyler Perry* :glare:

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney tried to copyright mythical figures. Still, I think Sakurai will avoid using actual Greek Mythical beings. Which means... GOOOOOO Mega Man! :)

Sadly people supporting characters from Skyward Sword. I don't know why. I thought that game was inferior to even Twilight Princess, story-wise, gameplay wise, and especially character-wise (the saving grace is the excellent Wii Motion Plus Controls; you put that on Ocarina of Time and that sells like hotcakes). Twilight Princess didn't have many memorable characters, but they sure as heck weren't as bland as Skyward Sword's characters.

Also, pretty much all God-awful comedies are stereotypes. *points in Adam Sandler's direction*

Speaking of The Office references, don't cut a certain part of the male body on the lid!

And no Skyward Sword was definitely better than Twilight Princess.

I don't think I've watched a modern comedy recently that actually made me laugh since Borat and the first Hangover

I still think Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are the best Zelda games (though I haven't played too many Zelda games, honestly; I'm trying to hit up Twilight Princess one day)

Racist jokes are funny. I hate on stupid white people all the time. I'm the ultimate reverse racist! :awesome:

Racism is crap though. Screw that.

Also, even if Skyward Sword is better than Twilight Princess, there is still a lot of drop off IMO from the Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, and the Legend of Zelda. Heck, I would dare even say Link's Awakening might be more enjoyable for me to play than Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword.

My Zelda franchise tiers:
0: Crossbow Training (lulz)
1. The Legend of Zelda
2. A Link to the Past
3. Ocarina of Time
4. the Wind Waker
5. Majora's Mask
...
Third Last: Spirit Tracks
Second Last: Four Swords
Last: Four Swords Adventures
Worst than Last: This show...
Worst Than Worst than Last: Everything CD-i related.

Stupid white people can indeed be excluded. :awesome:

Link to the Past > Ocarina of Time for sure. Though I don't have a particular order in Zelda games.

I really hope they remake Majora's Mask for the 3DS, I'd buy a 3DS just for that

As a matter of fact, there's a lot of N64 games I'd love to see remade for the 3DS (including Smash 64)

I really want a Skyloft in Smash. I also would love to see the inside of Hyrule Castle (mostly based off A Link to the Past, but it could take elements or sectors of Ocarina of Time, the Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess) or Ganon's Castle in Smash.

The island in Link's Awakening (I think it's called Mystery Island) would also make an excellent stage.

Also, Smash 64 remade (same physics, better balance [ie: Pikachu isn't totally broken and Link/Samus actually are useful], more stages, more characters, more general everything, online, etc) on the 3DS would rock.

Speaking of Rare...

KILLER INSTINCT 3

PLZ make it happen someone

As for Smash 64, I'd like it to be a large-scale remake a la Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Bring it up to speed with current Smash mechanics (such as Side Specials), finish up all the stuff you couldn't in the original version because of time constraints (mainly Mewtwo, Bowser, Dedede, and Final Smashes), and include online play and more crisp graphics, and we'd have the most irrestisible classic fighting game remake out there for ages

Can anybody else imagine how awesome Smash 64 stages would be in Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS=???

High graphic characters that make you say "holy crap I can see the pigmentation of the pigmentation of the pigmentation of their PANTS!" on SNES/N64 hybrid graphic stages FTW!

Smash 64 could also use some Diddy, Zelda / Ganondorf and Falco / Wolf in the remake. And of coarse Marth and Pit.

@ Metal
I know right. I'm imagining super 1080p graphics on the Wii U on Hyrule Castle or Peach's Castle 64 (with the N64 graphics) and the contrast is bright and awesome. Personally, I would love to see some retro graphics in the story mode. Imagine playing out an actual level from a game like say Super Mario World, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Zelda II, with graphics and everything actually taken out of said game. That would be so awesome!

Maybe we can actually already play Smash 64 on either the Wii U or 3DS version? I think there's a small chance of that happening. Even though it would graphically look the same,as on 64.

Only if they also put in all Melee stages.

I really liked Kongo Jungle in 64. Was happy to see it return in Melee.
