Don't forget Honey Queen.

In SMRPG, Mallow has LOTS of character development, like 5 times more than Geno. and has lots to make a moveset from. Why is it Geno? Why not mallow? Or why not an awesome Geno-Mallow tag team?

:phone:
Exactly.
Why should Geno be the only one mentioned? Just because he looks cool? If I recall correctly, Geno started as a fad that escalated to an insane degree.

Mallow deserves more than he gets.

Considering that Square-Enix has developed four more games with Mario characters in them, and none of them had Geno...

By comparison, Slime was in three out of four of those games.

Slime still seems a bit too boring to me. But I'm not fan of 3rd party suggestions anyway.

Green
Orange-She-Slime
Silver-Metal Slime

If you say slime is a bad choice because of being generic, call him rocket, a special slime who is main character of rocket slime games. Rocket is kind of like THE toad and yoshi.

Well people care much less about Mallow because he is a cloud with pants whose shtick was crying all the time. Geno is a lazer beam shooting puppet Gandalf that turns into a cannon. It's not exactly hard to see why people support him over Mallow.

So pretty much because he looks cool and has a much blander personality than Street Fighter's Ryu.

Does not matter because Slime> both of them.

However, Crono > Slime (though Crono has basically no chance at ever getting in).

No one is blander than Ryu. It is physically impossible. Also, personality has nothing to do with Smash. All of Nintendo's main characters are completely devoid of all personality, so attacking Geno for lack of personality is not exactly fair.

@Hoots: This has nothing to do with Smash at the moment.
This has to do with why in the Hell does Geno get all the glory when Mallow doesn't get so much as a passing mention.

If we're talking about personality, then shouldn't that be... mentally? :troll:

It's because when people get behind a character, it's because they are cool. A puppet that shoots lazer beams is pretty goddamn cool to a lot of people. A cloud wearing pink striped pants who literally whines about everything is not going to get many fans. Granted, I liked both of them and used both on my team. However, it's not hard to see the reasoning. I mean look at all of the original SNES games. I loved Diddy Kong as a kid and all he was was a monkey in a hat who cartwheeled around and jumped on crocodiles. There really isn't ANYTHING to that but it's ****ing AWESOME. I guess my point is, character depth does not factor into popularity at all. Take Samus, or Link, or Mario for instance.

So this is Mallow.

And this is what Mallow can do.

Thunderbolt – Starting Attack
HP Rain – Level 3
Psychopath – Level 6
Shocker – Level 10
Snowy – Level 14
Star Rain –

Hes interesting but i guess it all deepends on how popular the character is.

So, HyperFalcon, I've started a new game of Quest64. I'll be able to rate your moveset once I beat it (And my god, it looks good so far)

I like Mallow a hundred times more than Geno. I could not stand him in Super Mario RPG. Yes, Geno's personality is as wooden as his body. Not my favorite character. I prefer Mallow. There was also a time he had about as much if not more popularity than Geno does now.

Excellent. BTW, getting 50 in every element is near impossible. I'd check an FAQ if you want to see which spells I chose. :p And yeah, like I said, it's actually quite a lot of fun for such a bareboned game.

I wonder how the touch screen will be incorporated in the wii u and 3ds for ssb4. Will the touch screen just have damage % and stock, or will you control using the touch screen? (god forbid, if anything make it optional in settings)

I was going to say this. Prior to Brawl, no one seemed to really care about Geno (at least in relation to Smash Bros.).
I remember, it was always Mallow or Mallow and Geno. Then something happened where Geno took over. Before then it was Mallow for the longest time. You can even look to the Melee polls and see that they were about the same.

Super Mario series
(1) Koopa: 169 (Bowser)
(2) Princess Peach: 66
(3) Wario: 65
(4) Kinopio: 27 (Toad)
(5) Nokonoko: 9 (Koopa Troopa)
(6) Kamec: 8 (Magikoopa)
(7) Kuribou: 7 (Goomba)
(8) Mallow (Mario RPG): 5
(8) Geno (Mario RPG): 5
(10) Baby Mario: 3

I am curious of who will be the Poo/Geno of Smash 4. Lip seems to be developing a following, but she already has many detractors this early.

I'd say Waluigi, but at least he has a chance. Maybe Shulk? I don't know the trend usually happens about the first year after the reveal trailer and character speculation gets underway.

I think you are right. Waluigi does seem to being enjoying an increase in requests for Smash Bros. (though I think this is done in relation to his absence from Mario Kart 7).

Shulk is also a good candidate because Xenoblade has already become a cult hit, and when it it finally released in North America, there will be even more fans drawn to him.

Lip's appeal is too limited to reach the levels that Poo/Geno had.
