How much are you expecting the game to sell overall?

I think the game will sell more than Melee but less than Brawl. I highly doubt that the sales of the Wii-U will reach that of it's predecessor and a considerable minority may be reluctant to give SSB4 a chance after being dissatisfied with Brawl. There's also the factor that Nintendo has pretty much lost the majority of it's core gamers and as such, SSB4 will probably be more core-oriented, possibly making it more difficult for casual gamers to get into.

This is only the case if the following don't interfere:
- Less then 40 slots roster (People will decide on buying the game based off if their favorite character gets in or not and players will have high expectations for it)
- Review scores being worse than Melee and Brawl (Why do you think that Melee sold more than the original, despite being on a console that sold worse than the N64? Because the reviews were considerably better)
- Sonic and Snake going and/or no other third-party characters (These two were system sellers and Mega Man will be one as well. Nintendo can expect to lose hundred of thousands of potential SSB4 buyers if these goes.
- Poor online system (Which will hopefully not interfere again)
- Too much focus on single-player (People buy Smash for it's multi-player. Too much focus on single-player will turn players away)
- If problems aren't people (You shouldn't do sequels if you don't correct past problems)

If none of this happens, I expect the game to sell eight to nine million.

Why do people keep coming back to the arguement whether Toon Link or Young Link gets in? It's just an art style but they are essentially the same character. There will be a child Link and he represents all the games with child link in it (Which is most of the Zelda Games). So if you're going to make a moveset look at all the games and not just the latest one.

The problem with De-cloning "Child" Link is that both Links use the same weapons in each game. The only thing you can argue is that one Link uses certain items more than the other (e.g. child Link uses boomerangs more while adult Link uses hammers more). Every weapon is based off of a series of weapons and usually they give him the most recent editions to them (regular boomerang to Gale boomerang).

I think will have to settle with Child Link being the Mini-Me of Adult Link.
The event 34 of SSBM: Seven Years basically confirms what you said.

Yeah, I read your post, and I'm still not sure what you're trying to say. Is it that you think Toon Link is out because Skyward Sword is a prequel? Because that's just sort of silly.
If the latest measure Zelda game is prequel of OoT , which mean Toon Link doesn't exist.....while TP and WW they seem to run into a parallel time line.

@Arcadenik,

How long has that Tepig been there? 0.0
Oh, you noticed my new avatar! :bee: I found it yesterday at Bulbapedia.

It is the new logo for the Pokemon Center (store) in Osaka, Japan. It used to feature Pikachu, Meowth, and Squirtle... but apparently, Squirtle was replaced with Tepig sometime in November 2010.

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. I remember people used to say that Sheik wouldn't be in Brawl because Twilight Princess was recent and Zelda doesn't transform into Sheik in that game. And yet they say that Young Link will stay and not get replaced with "cel-shaded" Link because "the graphics don't fit" with Brawl's realistic graphics.

Just goes to show that relevance when it comes to characters already in doesn't matter.

What also didn't make sense was because Sheik was unique, Young Link was not.

Personally, I love the new look! I love how Zelda always look different in each game.
Do you think her seemingly more "active" role could bring moveset changes? By more active I meant literally, she seems to be doing things besides saving Midna's butt by sacraficing herself. Although I did like the Cloaked depressed Zelda from the begining of LozTP. (My favorite look of hers)

Times are a changin' I guess. Although I hate how Squirtle (My favorite starter) was replaced with Tepig (My least favorite starter) What are ya gonna do though?

I dont play or like Zelda period :)

A place.
They're anime characters. They have less of a chance of making it in than Master Chief, and his chances are already less than 0%.

How will you beat Link if you is Link? Young Link had to defeat Link, but Link copied his movements in a way stronger.
That reminds me of this commercial.

But you guys have to look at these character as they are throughout the series. Why was Link given a boomerang in 64 and Melee when OOT adult Link couldn't use boomerangs? It's because the boomerang is an iconic weapon to Link. Items that are used in one game are not going to be added unless it's from a classic family (boomerangs, bombs, hookshot, wands, bow, etc).

Right behind you with a knife.
I can't help but think Zelda's appearance is going to change at some point in Skyward Sword. You know, like what happened to Tetra. She looks overly plain right now, and it's actually difficult to imagine her as a fighter. I suppose that even if she doesn't change though, she'll still be in Smash all the same.

Her new look is a breath of fresh air. I'm hoping this new "Physically Fit" Zelda will spurr a new moveset.

Everyone, this isn't your first troll so stop acting like it is. Ignore it.
