What about GEeeeeenooo ;~;
Not important enough to get in. He stands very little chance if any. Don't get me wrong, he would be good, just that he probably shouldn't have priority yet.

This. Believe it or not, the generic FF classes are much more likely for their 2 crossover games with MARIO.

I don't recall which one there were, but I think they were:

Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage, and Ninja. Maybe Warrior too.

One of the mages would be incredible to have around.
What about Slime? He's had a large history on Nintendo's platform with two (Third one coming on the 3DS) spin-off titles exclusively on the 3DS, and is the mascot of Dragon Quest. It's our best shot at a Square Enix rep.

I would like to see Geno if they make him Rosalina's chosen warrior in Adventure Mode. :D And referencing Super Mario RPG as some sort of canonical occurrance.

That would be effing sweet... And I wasn't even that much of a Mario RPG fan.

Geno was a pretty big story character in SMRPG, if I'm not mistaken. I havent played it in a while. I'm not trying to defend him. I dont think any Square Enix character has ANY chance at all.

Slime? Besides an obscure japan-only party game crossover with Mario... did they get together for another game? Just curious.

If so.. then I think he has a good chance. After all... Japan goes ape**** over Dragon Quest. :D I wouldn't be surprised if something from that universe gets into the next SSB.

I believe Gano has a better chance than the Slime (if this character was added I will cry over the spot that this character took from a character with a proper body).

I gotta agree. I don't feel like Slime has much of a personality to really... be anything. Now, this is coming from a guy who hasn't played Dragon Quest or whatever it is, but an amorphous blob with a stupid smile on 24/7 doesn't seem appealing. But again, I suppose I'm out of line having never played those games. He just seems like another goomba character to me.

What? What is this I hear about people dissing Slime?!

For the last time he is a MASCOT, not simply a random "goomba".

I thought of a CONCEPT for a stage...

Basically just fighting inside a square, maybe with a platform or two in the middle, but around the edges of the square would be these moving HOLES. Hitting a character through the holes would be the only way of KO'ing your opponent. The holes would move all along edges of the square (even the bottom!), and they would be different sizes. The larger ones would move more slowly than the smaller ones. Also, to make things more fun, knocking an opponent through a smaller hole could give you some kind reward.

I have NO IDEA which universe a stage like this could fit into...

Well... Slime could have a moveset based on Rocket Slime Adventures. So it's not that farfetched.

And boy do I disagree on him having less chances than Geno. XD And I like Geno better.

They're coming together for Fortune Street for the Wii. I don't think chances are good for anyone but Mega Man, but he is more likely then most others.

Why so? Slime is the mascot of his own series and has started in a few games for himself, not to mention cross over with Mario at least twice (One of which is upcoming). He also has move set potentials, which I believe Starphoenix made most of.

His body proportion are impossible to be grasped in the game....but sorry the best thing slime can be is an assist trophy.

Well the mushroom is a Mascot for Super Mario did anybody want the mushroom as playable character ? I don't think so...
Oh please do not be serious... Let me put it another way, think of Pikachu. Now Pikachu on his own is just one of several hundred Pokémon, yet he is the mascot of the entire series. Slime is similar, he may be one of several different enemies you can encounter in any Dragon Quest game, but he is the mascot of the Dragon Quest series. So far as having his own spin off.

-coughfanboycough-. Pikachu has an entire battalion of moves he can learn. Be it that he may be the mascot, what's the word on Jigglypuff? Captain Falcon? I don't personally think they're mascots. And another thing, just because a character is a mascot doesn't mean he automatically is entered into the Smash series. Sorry, Slime is a no-go.

If he is good enough to play sports with Mario he can fight. He has magic, the ability to morph, and summon other slimes. He is much more capable than you give him credit for.

I didn't say that entitled him to become playable, simply that he isn't a normal "goomba". As far as moves guy I said my peace time and time again.

Well, as far as bosses go for adventure mode, I'd like to see:

Nidoking and Nidoqueen - you fight both of these superpowered Pokemon at once, and you will probably have an ally with you (not like in Kirby's Adventure where you have to fight several bosses or mini-bosses at once solo at times)

Kracko - I would love this Kirby Boss in the game, he's a cool boss

Boom-Boom - only appeared in one game basically (not counting remakes or re-releases), it's about time Boom-Boom be given life outside Super Mario 3

King Bulblin - I'd like this LOZTP boss as a boss in the next adventure mode, he shouldn't be just a stage obstacle, it was pretty degrading to see him as one rather than a boss

Proportion do not matter in the game. What matters is if a character has a move set potential, is popular, and follows Sakurai's four rules. Slime fits into all of them, thus he's eligible (Although not likely) for SSB4. I'd be asking for support if I knew that a 4th third-party character was far from guarantee.

Like I said, proportion isn't necessary. There is nothing that said that you must have proper proportion to be in SSB4. Why should I give you an example?

Please don't suggest any Stupid characters Ideas, Slime is impossible I rather have a Koopa or Hammer Bros. these are some character who have potential in move set.

And yet they're generics. Slime isn't that stupid of a pick, but it isn't the greatest one out there either.

At least Slime is a mascot of his own series. Koopa and Hammer Bros. are just that, enemies. Well-known enemies, but how many games can you count that starts them?

But sorry my friend I don't think the majority of gamers are Japanese....
It still counts because his games have sold more then Mega Man. Furthermore, Nintendo/Sora Ltd./Sakurai is Japanese and of course they are bias towards Japan. They put Japan before other parts of the world.

It's true that japanese developers have picked up interest in western developers and games, we'll have to see how that affect the character roster. But really, I think people are over especulating over 3rd party characters. I can see at least ONE more being added, and that's it.

Picking characters for a new Smash Bros. game is exceptionally difficult. I can't help but feel that most characters suggested for SSBU are no longer relevant. The fantastical half of the gaming industry has stagnated. New IPs like Zelda, Mario and Pokemon are no longer produced. The only modern, compelling characters that are relevant today are the likes of John Marstons, Jack Ryans and John 117s. Those characters are fine, but they don't fit the Smash Bros. motif well, and more importantly, they're not Nintendo characters.

Yes, it is possible to dig deep into the Nintendo universe and pluck out unique, playable Smash Bros. characters. But on a large scale, how many fans would care if Geno, Sigurd, Vaati or Balloon Fighter happened to be in SSBU?

Awh, I thought maybe at least Starphoenix would be interested in my stage concept. >:

ANYWAY, I've been thinking about potential characters and how they would bring something new to Smash. It kind of makes me worry about Little Mac. Would only punching really be fun? Would be a bit out of character to do anything else. I'm sure Saki and Isaac don't have anything to worry about. Bound to be unique. I'm sure Ridley would have something unique to himself. Maybe the option of dragging players across the ground either forward or back during a grab. Maybe an aerial grab (If and only if that could be made to not be broken, lol). I guess Takamaru wouldn't have anything to REALLY set him apart, but he'd definitely have a unique moveset. No question about Megaman. :V
