Honestly to me this is almost perfect. However I believe Bowser jr would get in over Toad ( I don't want him to just a gut feeling), just needs Tingle and Geno .


What do you guys think about Shy-Guy for sm4sh? Not too sure if he'd rep "Yoshi" or the Mario franchise, but he's been in a lot of spinoffs and he's a common enemy in games too. I think he could have a lot of potential.

Yeah I think he's definitely a great choice. I was browsing through the Brawl Stickers today and thought his up B could be the propeller guy from Yoshi's Story. There could be so much potential with him cus of all of his forms , as you said . And he'd need an alternate white costume

Here, I added the Assist Trophies: Little Mac, Matthew (in Isaac's place), Isa (in Saki's place), and Starfy. Why these four newcomers? Because of Punch-Out!! (Wii), Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, and The Legendary Starfy (DS). Mii is your standard custom character. Takamaru is a popular retro newcomer in Japan while Duck Hunt Dog is the new troll character who is blamed for taking the spot of your favorite character like R.O.B. was in Brawl. Obviously the controversy lies in the inclusion of Matthew, Isa, and Duck Hunt Dog but that's raging nerds for you.

I liked it until you made Isaac and Saki alternate costumes of Matthew and Isa. Seriously, I would be OK with Matthew and Isa instead, but then you make the more popular character choices costumes. That is just wrong on so many levels.

However, not a bad roster other than that one glaring flaw. Heck, I wouldn't mind the Pokemon selection even.

Well, these are the B moves I thought of:
Neutral B: Snifit- Shy Guy shoots 1-5 bullets, depending on charge time. Charge can be held.
Side B: Spear Dash- Shy Guy gets a Tribal Shy Guy's spear and rushes forward with it.
Up B: Fly Guy- Shy Guy gets a propeller and flies upward. This move causes a gust of wind under him that pushes others away. The propeller does damage.
Down B: Stilt Smash- Shy Guy climbs on top of a Stilt Guy's stilts and smashes the ground with them. Creates a damaging shockwave.
Final Smash: Tribal Thunder- Shy Guy takes on the full Tribal Guy look(face paint and all) and strikes the stage with blasts of lightning(similar to his Power Shot in Mario Power Tennis). Anyone hit by a bolt will be paralyzed for a while.
So, what do you think?

1. Only one new Nintendo franchise - Golden Sun - represented. I think we can get at least two more newly represented franchises of either modern or retro status from Nintendo, if not more.

2. Vaati. Unless Vaati appears in Skyward Sword, I just don't see much logic behind including him. He's old enough to where he's no longer a modern important Zelda character.

That's my only complaints excluding Brian, who is obviously your respectable "I wish" character and so I'll ignore in this review. You do get a plus for including Genesect, who would be a very cool Pokemon rep.

Shy Guys are in the background for Yoshi's Island in SSB...but still it's a spin off game which is why I think Yoshi get's her own "series" which is the same reason why I don't think Wario will get any other reps. Otherwise Captain Syrup/Kat & Ana and Shy Guy/Baby Mario w/ Chain Chomp would sound cool...

Mine looks close to yours Java, except I have 3rd party characters and no Dixie Kong or Capt. Syrup (I think there's a few more characters but I don't feel like looking back.)

Obviously, this Zelda stuff depends on how Skyward Sword turns out, since SS is known to have some items from the Four Swords games already. If Vaati is in SS, then I'd gladly accept him.

But like I said, it's a decent roster. I'm not really looking forward to debating, but those above are my only points in contention.

That's cool. I'm pretty neutral on most rosters really, so don't expect anything less than 70% from me in terms of roster scores.

The Lyn fanbase also worked to keep the Micaiah fanbase from growing by giving support to Ike (their arrangement was that FE's representation would be Ike and Lyn, with both Marth and Roy being gone).

Lyn's fanbase collapsed upon the Assist Trophy revelation. They all then migrated to the Micaiah fanbase and beated the drum myth that it was only going to be Tellius Fire Emblem characters that were going to be playable.

Those selfish ***holes!

I have now found another fan base I dislike for potential newcomers (the other being Krystal). We should be fighting against cuts, not for cuts to make room for newcomers.

The Sonic fanbase has to be the worst fandom of all video game franchises. I actually think it would be a good thing if Sonic does not return in Smash 4 because it would at least deject the insane Sonic fanbase from the Smash fanbase. This comes from someone who was a big supporter of Sonic for Brawl. I also think the idea of having permanent guest characters in Smash Bros. is foolish.

Being a Sonic main in Brawl, I'd love to see him return, although I understand if they were to drop him.

But if he was dropped, the Sonic fan base would go absolutely ballistic and the internet notoriety that was especially prevalent in 2007-2008 will come back to haunt us again. While humorous in the short run (this is the part where we would hide in the back room), I do not look forward to the long-term impact.

I'm officially switching my primary support from Victini to Genesect now.

As for Skyward Sword, I do not want to viral market characters because they just happen to appear or are new.(Girahaim) This is my main problem with Lucario getting in. Ruby/Sapphire deserved a rep first.

Likewise, while Waluigi would've been interesting, he doesn't rep anything more than spin-offs, which I don't consider actually important at all. No relevance beyond being fun(and that's subjective). I don't hate Waluigi or anything, but Bowser Jr. reps Super Mario Sunshine, Galaxy, and both New Super Mario Bros. games, and perhaps more. Also, he was based upon Bowser Kid from Mario Party, so he partially reps the Mario Party games too if we're grasping at straws.

And fair enough. I don't think too many 1st Party new series deserve a ton of rep. Especially when there's little that is coming out with decent choices. Animal Crosser/Tom Nook is hard to imagine as some kind of fighter for me.(might be interesting, but not to me) I think a lot of those series could have Courses/Assist Trophies first. As for Goroh, which I like the guy, Kat and Ana really take care of the Light Blade user area. While I like Lyn, I think Hector is more unique by default. I also didn't return everyone for the sole purpose of keeping a reasonably sized roster. But I could bring them all back overall. Clones or not, doesn't matter to me.(As long as they're from the same series, I'm eh about it. But then again, I like Akuma, soooo...)

You got a little off-tangent when you talked about new 1st-party series, but I understand you. Fair enough.

Who are your top three picks for female characters, and how many do you expect to see in Smash4? Personally, I think this Smash has the possibilty to have just as many females added into the game as Melee (Which was three) Who do you want to join Peach, Zelda, Samus, ZSS, and Sheik?

My top three wanted females for SSB4 are:

1. Captain Syrup
2. Midna
3. Medusa

Obviously none of these choices are likely, but they're who I want the most. I'd also support Ashley, Dark Samus, and Kanan for SSB4.

Actually, I do remember seeing a trailer for the new Pokemon movie that was linked to here that showed Victini turning invisible. It's in this trailer at about the 0:17 mark, I believe.

I changed Ganondorf to Toon Ganondorf. Also, the thing is that Young Link can also rep Majora's Mask that nobody else can. Sheik isn't in it. Zelda represents all the Zelda games better, specifically ones she's appeared in. I considered her the rep for the first three LoZ games. IMO. And remakes are showing the most popular choices. Why else remake Ocarina of Time? Because of popularity. You have a partial point, though.

I wouldn't fret too much over the controller. I still remember the article where Sakurai specifically stated Smash was meant to be played like "this" and picked up a gamecube controller.

I think we have a chance at seeing a Wario girl as well. I think Mona, or Ashley are entirely possible, much more likey than Captain Syrup considering Sakurai seems to favor WarioWare over WarioLand. I think Krystal also has a legitimate chance. Unfortunetly I don't see us getting any small franchise girls, or any Fire Emblem women. I think Kid Icarus, Wario, and Starfox are the only series that will supply us with a female this time around. Unless I'm missing someone major? But I don't think I am.

I'm actually on the fence with Medusa and Palutena. I'm not quite conivinced we will see one of them yet. I think it depends on: A. Is Sakurai willing to show off "his" characters yet, and is the game going to do well? I think the game us going to do well, I just don't know about the former. For all we know, he could have it set in his mind that RIGHT NOW that we won't be seeing another KI rep for a while, sort of how he treated Kirby.

My most wanted females for SSB4:

1. Captain Syrup
2. Medusa
3. Midna

Only Medusa is likely, but I chose these ladies because I simply like them. I'd also support Ashley, Dark Samus, and Kanan for SSB4.

To better clarify, Chrono vs. Shadow Dreamers and Asage, about Sonic. Ended with Chrono sidestepping and strawmanning my argument. Still waiting on a proper response from him.
