I'm sure you guys have seen M2K play Ally's Snake. Well, in one of the videos from Genesis, you'll see M2K grab ally and he'll sort of fall off the ledge and use F-Air. I think that's what this is similar too, but because Pikmin have the default function to grab onto Olimar when he grabs the ledge, we get some cool stuff going on. Someone mentioned something similar a few months ago with lucas getting hit in his shield, sliding off, then using N-Air or something like that.

It'd be sick if there was a way to combine nair and uair. Like it;d be cool if theres as way to interupt nair with uair and while the opponent is still stunned.

Wario can do this more easily than most. You run off the ledge and immediately get back on. He'll do that weird bounce animation.

I think it worked for Olimar in that video because in the animation of a pikmin throw, Olimar moves his head forward a bit.

So what happened:

You ran off,
pikmin threw towards the stage,
your head reached the stage and so a majority of your body was on stage,
while doing that you pushed and held the control stick towards the stage so you could land on it,
you did the tech that Wario players have known about for a while now.

I'll test it out some. I wasn't aware that Olimar could do this, nor did I actually think his pikmin throw moves hit hurtbox in the direction you throw. That's really the only way this could happen for Olimar, considering his aerial mobility isn't great.

i think that was just brawls physics buffering a nair lol, kinda like you get your shield hit, slide off the stage and dair when you input d-smash while you were on stage as your shield was hit.

This technique isn't Olimar specific, it's just pivotting a special move. I think it's possibly useful for Olimar to avoid juggles. The move has a small cool-down but the pivot's not very effective, so I'm not sure.

hey, olimar has a pretty good JC "glide toss", friend told me about JC'ing a banana throw and it will have a similar effect of glidetossing as olimar, and it works pretty good. just hold a direction and jump and throw at the same time and you will slide, can even slide forward and then reverse your toss liek a reverse glide toss, just thought i'de throw that out there

no, as in he DOES slide a noticeable amount. not like luigi or peach or rob or anything, but it is good for retreating especially when diddy has the pressure on

Yeah this is kinda old. Try just dashing on and off the edge with Wario to get a feel of what you did, then add in the special.

nah, it just cuts the lag from the latch by having olimar fall off of the ledge, and land back on it. I some times do something similar to this without the fanciness, running off the ledge and throwing a pikmin when i jump back on. I don't know why, it just randomly became habit for me >.>

First of all, I didn't read the thread. I just watched the video.
I'm going to skip saying how old it is and go to the usefulness of it.

After doing this, as opposed to tossing a white, toss a purple.
The purple will do it's normal effect and you can smash them just like purple->fair works.

this is like the reverse cape glide on the platforms of battle field for Mario. its like a normal b boost but you reverse it and the b boost momentum causes you to dip off the stage then back on. you can do this with the whistle and up b.

I still think it's the exact thing as cape gliding and silent plucks and turnip pulls.
