Cool, this puts us at 8 TVs (2 of which are LCDs, if we don't get any more CRTs, just deal with it) and 6 Wiis. Anyone else have a Wii they can bring?

I can bring another crt tv if I have enough room in my car. I'm hoping Robert and Ben come with me, we can use more peeps. If they don't come I can come pick you up Walker. Ill let you know my thurs. Ill have Tekkie with me. Hype for this tournament! Its been a while!

mad respect to kazunoko for a 4-minute-grand finals, but winning that match so beautifully AND placing 5th in singles with a fair amount of Gouken in bracket "means that over the course of the tournament [Infiltration] made like four times as many correct reads as the rest of the top 8 combined."

kazunoko is insanely good. i really wanna see him at more international tournaments. and it's nice seeing someone use gouken and not suck with him.

I'll seed the bracket with the anime club on one side and everyone else on the other. Also, my doubles strategy is to be a floating stage hazard and have my ally hope for the best.

David, that is the opposite of how it works

You seed players according to rough ranking. So Casey and I shouldn't be in the same bracket.

basically, you give everyone a ranking

(not exactly like this, but the general idea)

Me #1
you #2
Nolan #3
Steven #4
casey #5
Neil #6
Tekkie #7
Victor #8
Then you set it up so that Player 1 should play player 2 in the finals (aka opposing brackets)

So in winners quarters, #1 plays #8, #2 plays #7, 3 and 6, 4 and 5. Then winner of 1/8 plays winner of 3/4 and winner of 2/7 plays 5/6, then those 2 winners play in finals

The way you have it, All the good players will play each other early

It was a fun tournament even with a low (20) turnout. I apologize if anyone expected more entrants as I believe we didn't advertize it enough. To compensate, the Anime Club will hold another one next semester (and possibly with a joint MVC3 or SF4 tournament since the venue is large enough). I hope everyone had a good time regardless.

Abridged results:
Singles:
1 - Neil (ROB)
2 - Walker (IC + ZSS + Wario)
3 - Steven (DK + Marth)
4 - Nolan (Pikachu)
... I forgot the rest

Doubles:
1 - Walker + Nolan
2 - Neil + Tekkie
