I bet a lot of you have seen this, it seems like a cool new tech that might be good for our Samus games. It seems like she can move pretty fast with it, it just remains to be seen what moves are effective out of it.

How to do it from Original Thread:

"I recommend changing one of the shoulder buttons to attack for this to work best (I use Z)

Pivot Walking (PW)

If you hold A (or any other attack button, if any) , walk and push the c-stick in a 45 degree back-up direction (requires C-stick set to smash), your character will spin 360 degrees, while still maintaining his forward velocity, and if you do this in the right pace your character will be continously spinning.

You can do the same attacks out of this as you can a normal walk. If you press the c-stick too much up, you will start a dash, if you press the c-stick too much back, you will start charging a fsmash in that direction.

This has proved to be a very useful technique, and we're still researching it's usefulness, but it seems to have quite a few uses though."

I don't think its too hard of a key switch, I think the idea is that most people don't use both shoulder buttons, favoring one or the other to shield. That would leave a free one for this AT. You're right, knihT, my Samus game dosn't involve a whole lot of walking, but I've always seen advice from good players on this board like, "My Samus is all about walking away and spacing". I once observed PC Chris using walking in his Snake game to great effect, so maybe this tech is good for that sort of play.

snake = walks everywhere

His dash limits his options, his usmash isn't really the best guard.

If he walks, he can do his nice little ftilt/utilt anytime he wants to. He can quickly go into a dash for DAC or dash attack. A good Snake will almost -never- run unless its for a tech-chase.

Some characters aren't meant to walk, others are.

Diddy wants to make use of his speed, he's not the sort to walk places + he has a good dash attack.

Marth/Snake have poor usmashes, and bad dash attacks. They want to talk everywhere.

Also:

I do this with normal settings, but I set R to attacks last night so whenever I do an attack I can just hold down R if I want to Pivot Walk. If I don't, I simply release R.

Yeah I would use it to taunt too but I don't want to bring out Samus's girly side by twirling like a ballerina. My purple costume is enough.

Havokk- You're right about Snake. PC Chris was U Tilting everywhere and it definitely benefited from Snake walking. My mentality with Samus, however, is to learn as many AT's as possible and use them situationally. Samus is low tier, so I guess I feel like I gotta exploit the hell out of this game to bring her up. Plus her utilt and other tilts arn't too bad either. Not like Snake though. :(

I have actually used this long before i knew it was an atual AT uh i find it good for edge guarding you can both space yourself to catch either the roll back on the stage or get up atk i've gotten several KO's from PW spacing.

This made a useless tech for Samus easier. Samus has a neutral pivot walk, so it doesn't benefit her in any way other than tricking your opponent. Even then, half of Brawl is prediction so your foe may have already made their move by the time you do approach. Finally, we play Samus. Samus spends her time at a distance whenever possible. Also, if you mess up, you end up doing a laggy fsmash. I prefer shield dashing to this.
