Long story short they're supporting a ban on anime, manga, and games that depict any sort of illegal activity including illegal violence and death...which is basically every anime/manga ever.

Even things like DB(Z) (death) and Pokemon (poaching, among other Team Rocket crimes) would fall under this blanket. This movement is apparently gaining momentum too.

I don't remember the name of the show, but one particularly risque TV series actually is cutting it's season run short and airing it's final episode within a week or two.

I dunno, supposedly it's partially coming from pressure put on them by the reveal by Wikileaks of some crude remarks towards Japan. Sounds like it's only taking effect in Tokyo, as their governor is seemingly the main proponent of this movement. As of now I'm just writing him off as Japan's very own Jack Thompson and waiting to see where this new sideshow takes us.

That's kind of the idea. They're using ambiguous wording to veil their attempt to target a specific market. They've apparently tried two or three times before to pass similar but more limited bills, they just didn't make it through.

also, I think I've "quit" brawl since last year... I've not gone to a tourney in that long of time, and really I have no way of going to one for a while... If there's a tourney between dec 26th and jan (7th?), I could go to one no doubt... it's just school.... it's so obnoxious and time consuming...
