Mine was very similar.

As for it being a way around ICs, they could still just d-throw or something like that. The regrab would be too fast. This would be (From the times I've done it) just for grab releases.

I can keep trying to have it happen again. It's happened to me on Final Destination and Battlefield, keep in mind mine WEREN'T on Wi-Fi. So I'm almost certain these are glitches. Magnet is too slow, it seems like this shouldn't happen. But...well it happened.

Honestly I was pressing just about everything...I was pushing down on the C-stick, but mine was set to B...I also was pushing Y which is what I have my jump set to still.

~The 3 lords: Ademisk (Levitas?) and Thesage were repping Ness and destroying tourneys. I was a happy lurker

~Grab release disaster: Shortly after release, 75% of Ness mains left. I was a lurker, I was devastated. (I really really was. I was super depressed, grades dropped etc)

~The Dark ages: Ness was universally known as a trash character. We had a few supporters, and I joined up here campaigning for Ness left and right. To be honest, I did a lot of bad things (like semi trolling the Ness boards and ~lying~ in some matchup discussions~)

~Mario main war: Started by me and Matador's debate. (I was childish back then) a taunted them to much and it resulted in catastrophe. The Ness/Mario relationship hasn't been the same since.

~Drought: Nothing happened for the longest of times. Matchups died down and I was pretty board. Started visiting less.

~New hope: EIDI was HUGE scandal and promised Ness ultimate salvation. Breaking free of grab releases. It was ultimately proven false by Levitas. (I battled against it a lot, cold hard facts convinced me otherwise)

~New Challenger approaching: Smash64, Vicegrip, Miles, Tails (Dajayman? Uffe?) and Eagleeye were really repping Ness and taking respectful tourney placings. It was it at this time I stopped coming here. (I was in the Dissidia hype)

just so all ya guys know, I prefer 34GL3, EAGLE, MagKNIGHT, or some other thing over EAGLEye..... the fact that that movie just so happened to put their trailers to their movie out almost a month or two after I created that name means that I didn't base my name off of that movie (although fairly good, containing several extremely dislike-able things within it).

there is no need to add the EYE in there, because I've decided to pluck out my own eye I don't like how it sounds anymore (can't change name as far as I know.... )

also, Y1NK only came around to the ness boards between.... maybe august-october till now... I think.

I didn't know about EIDI, and actually the only tourney rankings that I've shown were of the days where I was just starting.... Nintendo has me positioned right, but I came into the boards about 6-12 months before FOW. I was dumb back then. Now, however, everyone else has gotten equally better around me and I have to deal with that... gladly, no marth mains except my friend are in the MW.

IF I COULD GO TO TOURNAMENTS (and I mean real SSBB tournaments and not these insane smashfests that Kirk holds... although B- is awesome!), I COULD PROBABLY PLACE WELL!!! I have a good backup of kirby and my ness has been fairly solid lately. I took a break and went back to brawl yesterday with my friends and ended up beating them a lot, mostly losing by random stuff like the game not reading that i pressed R to shield or R+down to spotdodge and just had me receive every hit. maybe it's just my friend's wii though....

I've mained Ness since N64. And I won't stop maining him ever probably. I didn't get on swf much as a kid (around the melee times) because I was too young to compete in the smash scene in OR and WA during those times. I moved around my middle school years and I lost interest in the game because FL's smash scene wasn't hype before brawl came out. Then Brawl came out and I didn't care much because no1 in my family had a wii. Soon enough my little brother got 1. I continued to main Ness and he picked up lucas always wanting to be like me lol. As for the other Ness Mains that left after the CG fiasco. It was nice knowing them. but w/ all do respect **** them. They're were/are Tier whores who only consider Ness "Manly" w/ the other low tier guyz. Yeah Ness being Manly and Cool because he's low tier is honoring but annoying if you ask me. I main Ness because he's ****ing awesome not because of some dam Tier list that's not even 60% accurate that dwells off of Tourney listings. I'm not in some low tier salvation army that protects the weak.And tbh I believe the Falcon mains believe the same thing I bet. Falcon was 1 of the Best characters in Melee. Now no1 mains him because he's a low tier and he's considered a "Manly" character to this New generation of smash. Because he's so "cool" and "he's so flashy" or "all the pro's like falcon" when they don't even know why. It's because falcon was the **** in melee and even though he isn't in brawl their all still fans of him. So this new generation runs off of that to get cool points. It's all just disgusting if you ask me. I've beaten people in Friendlies,MM,and Tourney wins and heard them say "That Character should be @ least bottom B tier ranking". Idec about the Tier listings. I tried it a bit today. It definitely has potential w/ the Bstick. Try to figure this out guys please. It's 1 of the things we need. Other characters seem to be more structured because when stuff like this happen they all race to figure it out. Or work together to better their metagame. Lets make this thing happen.

I honestly don't know...I came in when the board was fairly active, but then it started to die down again. I helped release "Grabbing with Gimps" to increase some grab knowledge, which was fairly helpful if you wanted to kill the space animals fast.

I took over the Match-Up Thread a little while ago, I'm the only girl Ness main to rep Ness well that I know of, just won two doubles spots in a tournament, so I'm not bad.

Created gifts and graphics for the board, brought some new members in, we had a crazy party in this General Discussion like, a month ago. There were about 8 mods in here.

I'm not sure where I fit in, really. I appeared in October, but I knew about this site earlier, was just too nervous to come by. I was a pretty big nobody until I found the rest of the Iowa crew. Joker told me then on the way back from the time they first saw me, they were surprised how good I was. I hope this was helpful.

I joined SWF later in Melee's life but I only lurked around here and only posted on BrawlCentral (now dead) until videos started appearing of Ness in the Japanese version of Brawl. I still remember that Ness vs. Link video on Smashville where we were all like "PK Fiyah does 22%?!? GOD TIER" and "Did the bat just outrange Link's sword?!!?"

I stopped posting/lurking around the time EIDI was discovered and spread around like gospel, I had no idea it was disproven. So, Marth/'Zard can regrab, or can they dash grab, or was EIDI not possible in the first place?

Look at my join date. I was lurking Ness boards a lot back when Brawl was released since I didn't have my own Wii. I was mostly using AiB more over SWF though back in those days. Now I use both sites frequently.

The third Ness lord was my number one hero of all time, the great and almighty Simna Ibn Sind. I would not be a Ness main today if his combo video, Illuminati. didn't inspire me to keep playing Ness. Too bad he quit vBrawl and I haven't seen him since he started working on Ness in Brawl+ almost a year ago. I wonder what he's up to now...

It was a sad day indeed when Simna Ibn Sind announced his discovery of Ness' grab release disadvantages. Ness boards were getting heavily trolled on, with threads like "How to beat Ness" and all it contained was "1) Pick Marth 2) Press Z repeatedly until 200%+ 3) Flick c-stick in Ness' direction 4) Taunt 5) Repeat." Dark times indeed...

I heavily lurked that Mario thread in the Ness boards where the Marios attacked us. Some Ness mains are just huge troll baits and kept feeding those Mario trolls. I decided at the time not to even get involved. But I still joke to this very day with Bo X7 about Mario and Ness and we still laugh at that thread. XD

And I still have faith in EIDI, or at least I tell Marth's that EIDI still exists to get in their head. (I SWEAR it works, I have experienced a Marth miss their standing grab on me somehow!!! So this guy always dash grabbed after me after I made him miss his standing grabs.)

I'm glad MLG threw out the GR junk, which begs the question why standard tournament organizers still allow them/other infinite mechanisms. *shrug*

Yeah, there's definitely a list, I couldn't find it, though... :/

For the most part it's energy based projectiles, physical objects like arrows and bike parts don't work.

There's also weird cases like Lucario's side B (I think? One of his moves can be absorbed), ZSS's down smash, etc.

The Halberd laser can't be absorbed but Arwings can, so there's some stage hazards to consider also.

The tier list for the most part is pretty accurate. It's just that sometimes certain characters are under-repped in both the BBR and in tournament play. And most focus in tier lists obviously go to the higher tiers, which Ness hasn't been a part of. That's why you see more drastic changes in low tiers than high tiers, look at where the placements of characters like Snake, MK, and Marth have gone compared to Sonic, PT, and Ness.

Just rep Ness and hopefully he'll rise more. If you don't rep Ness, he'll go down the Zelda path...

I don't think that'll last. It's probably to hard to define and enforce. Plus other characters don't have their infinites banned.
