I'm not bashing or anything, but I'd really like to see Lucas get far in some tournaments. I know for a fact that he can, too. If I recall correctly, he is actually a whole lot better than Ness in the Japanese tier list while Ness is still a low-tier. I'm sure things will change for Lucas, though. Look at Ness and how he finally got where a lot of us thought he belonged two years ago.

You seem pretty hateful towards us. The main reason i didn't bother talkiing in that thread is because you will never be convinced, so why waste my time. I agree lucas is underrepresented, and suffers from it, but he hasn't proven to be better than Ness to this point. Right now your just amplefying his strengths and hiding his weaknesses.

Boss is pretty good from what I've heard. For the Ness vs Lucas response, I know that match-up somewhat and I see them both being even towards each other. I've played Irsic, whom by the way was the best Lucas I've ever played about a year ago. Him and I would defeat each other left and right. As for DK being 55:45, DK, an infinite alone does not determine a match-up. Plus, Ness has a lot of things he can use to deal with DK, so it's not something like Marth.

Call me bias, but here's what I can think of.

Ness:
Pros

1. Good in the air
2. Good spike
3. Good at comboing
4. Better at approaching
5. Survives a slightly longer than Lucas as far as hopeful KOing goes
6. Slightly better match-ups
7. Better juggles
8. PK Jibaku (PKT2) kills as early as 30% on the majority of characters

Cons

1. Decent recovery
2. Grab released by most characters
3. Has to approach

Lucas:
Pros

1. Okay in the air, but better on the ground than Ness
2. Great recovery
3. Better health absorbtion in-take
4. Flashy combos with the exception of using them correctly
5. PK Jibaku flies by shields
6. Slightly more stage counters than Ness

Cons

1. PK Jibaku is practically useless as a killer due to its slow PKT
2. Slightly worse match-ups
3. Grab released by most characters
4. Has to approach

I think it's a pretty decent summary, and also explains a lot of the stupid crap that happens between ness and lucas mains on occasion.

Lucas boards aren't perfect either, chuee. We're working on fixing the wrong stuff, too, but it's a high latency process.

DK still has a hard time getting the grab on Ness. Ness' fair alone hurts DK a lot.
I play the world's best DK, ook, and I even secondary DK (I am ook's apprentice) so I think it's fair to say I have really good DK MU experience and good DK knowledge.

Overall I say it's 60-40 the worst since DK does have infinite cargo release which can end with a dsmash, but Ness overall has the tools to stop DK's normal approaches like upb and counters his tilts with spaced fairs. Also DK's awesome downb is near useless since Ness spends most of his days chillin' in the air.

DK's best tools are spaced bairs and ftilts, but once Ness gets a bit inside DK then DK is in for trouble. Also Ness has projectile advantage over DK. But DK also has the advantage of killing pretty early and living extremely long with his weight and upb momentum cancel. DK also has superarmor frames on his upb and steaming punch which DK can take advantage of, but Ness' fair and PK Fire beat those moves even if their first hits are superarmored the last hits flinch DK before the move's hitbox comes out.

One last thing to worry about is DK's Cargo Stage Spike (CSS), just becareful not to get grabbed too close to ledge at around 60%+ and to hold up (glitch that breaks you from DK's grab extremely fast). Also easily countered by picking a non-hard, pass through stage like Delfino or Halberd.

If DK didn't have that cargo release nonsense, I'd say it would be an even MU or even slightly in Ness' favor.

Don't question MUs of characters you have no idea about Chuee. According to your logic Yoshi and Bowser should be counters to MK since they have a grab release chaingrab on MK.

That is true, but you should also know this, there are legit stratagies to preventing infinates, such as, banning FD, camp on platforms, and camp close to the edge so you fall off on the grab-release.

Also if DK is going for the infinate he is facing forward, where Ness can GENERALLY beat his approaches, otherwise he is bairing , and not in a position to grab.

(This is @Chuee, not you Best) Who are these people? You don't even back that up. There's lots of players that think they can do something amazing and it happens sometimes. Stop making it seem like it's impossible to go even with a DK, it happens sometimes.

I personally think that MU is too low myself, but lol it's not INSANE. Learn to space. I played Ripple (and if you don't think he's good...there's a problem with ya) and I've only played him once, but from what I remember I did lose, but not by a massive amount. They were close matches.

Chuee..... stop trollin'...... Ness isn't nearly as bad as you say he is, and I agree Lucas isn't as bad as some other people say he is (in fact, I think Lucas v Ness is 50:50 unless one side discovers something gamechanging), but you don't have to be a baby about inconsistencies in people's opinions and factual things about everyone's MUs....

Also, infinite =/= game-winner, because if so ICs would be 100-0 on everyone.... sure DK has an infinite on ness, but thats only ONE thing in the entirety of the matchup. There are several things ness can do in order to prevent being grabbed and to counter every other thing that DK throws out....

PS: Ness' PSI Magnet, although not containing the hit like lucas', is game-changing and awesome....
PPS: Ness' dtilt greatly contributes to his ground game.... effective spamming of it FTW!!! (2 quick hits maximum, then switch)
