Thats what people keep bashing it for, and really i don't understand why. While yes you have a big world map show up fairly early in a lot of the Final Fantasy games there is still very little options you can do till way later on. Same thing with Tactics, its pretty linear as well. All i am saying is i don't understand why it gets bashed so hard for it when many of the other games had the linear aspect as well.

I am on chapter 5. I hear the game really opens up after 30something odd hours of playing. However i can honestly say its one of the funnest Final Fantasy's i have played and had a good shot to rank up at the top when it is all said and done in my book.

I think the problem is nowadays we're seeing games with strong stories and expansive worlds with lots of sidequests and extra things to do, and they kind of expected Final Fantasy to have some of that.

Really think about the symbolism. There is SOOO much there, from what happened. OMFG i LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE the song during that fight. My favorite by far.

It was a boss that got removed( due to it potentially being too scary or disturbing for younger audiences) I think it was suppose to take place after *****SPOILERS******


Claus( my favorite) gets killed in the final battle, and Lucas goes into a freak mode type thing, kinda like Ness's nightmare, a fight with himself. At least that is one theory.
