need help against shiek

Hi everyone, I'm having a really hard time trying to get back on the stage when my brother )who uses shiek) fires needles at me so i can't get back on the stage until I have like at least 120% damage (I really dont' know if my brother could keep going but probably so) that and he uses the chain to knock me off the map when i grab the ledge also. What can I do against this as fox? Just take it or what?

use the shine to float a little and go down where she can't hit you with her needles, you're going to get edgeguarded anyway so be ready to DI and or walltech(or get ***** xD)

Overall against sheik is basicly the same as marth, exept for the fact that she relies on tech chasing against you, dash attack, fair, upsmash,f-tilts and d-tilts, expect CC (beware of all those things). Camp lasers and upthrow>uair works wonders against her. Throw of some shine combos if you're enough technical, drillshine>upsmash works well but you'll need a long wavedash either you'll have to walk a little to upsmash her

yea i had to eventually learn to deal with needles as fox as well. they wont kill you unless they hit you with them before you are doing your up-B, and thus pushing you out of range. if they hit you after your up-B, keep on doing it. you have no other choice. try and use the illusion if possible to recover though when you can, and limit upB to only when you need to.

you can use the shine method described above to stall a little, but in the long run, it wont help out that much. you'll still get hit most of the time.

if he's good at edgeguarding you there are 2 things you could alleviate the problem with:

1) get better at mixing up your recovery. sweetspot the ledge with illusion when there's no possibility she's in edgehogging position. ride the walls on FD and Dreamland with firefox to either sweetspot or pop up on the stage. sheik, unfortunately, is not one of those characters you can just fly above with firefox. she can tear you out of the sky with her fair in the blink of an eye, so take care.

2) get better at not getting knocked off the stage. this one is a little tougher, but learn to put yourself in winning situations. stay near the center of the stage when you approach. many of sheiks moves can be pretty easily DI down -> floorteched rather easily, such as a low fair or her dsmash. develop this ability, I promise you will not regret it. Finally, part of being good on defense staying on offense. fox can combo sheik to a pretty sick extent, but gets edgeguarded pretty easily, so stay in control.

Well whenever your flying out of a stage you can always use the Illusion to get back.
During-Flying Like-Rocket-Animation doing Fox illusion grants you a raise in height before initiation!

sheik is a ***** for a charcter in this matchup, you want to pick a big stage so you have time to avoid the grabs Like FD and where you can destroy her needles with lasers.

Just stay at the center of the stage and uthrow uair a lot. You might shine->grab->uthrow->uair.

^ Agreed. This match is a battle of positioning, always stay with your back towards the centre, of the stage, unless it's absolutely neccessary.

Learn to sweet spot the edge. Try not to be predictable w/ your recovery. Mix it up to throw your opponent off.
